My goodness, I have never read such a saddening experience, especially when you said that the elders decided to allow your boyfriend to only go to the funeral, who the hell are they to decide something like that?!!!! At least you now you both know what a horrible religion this is, I too am disfellowshipped and my own mother doesn't talk with me at all, if only she could see what we all here on this board see and know about the society. no, i am not a witness and i have never been, and never will be!
i did however, date a witness for about three years.. it was our typical 357th biweekly 'man hating' girls night out, and meeting mr. right was the last thing on my mind!

Shunned by a pharisaic elder
by ldrnomo instopped in a local eatery this evening for their famous vegetarian enchilada casserole and there was a man in there, an elder in a local congregation who i was aquatinted with (he did some work for me at my home) and we know his wife.
he was in the same congregation i was in for a time.. i went over to him to say hi and shake his hand and when i reached out he pulled his hand away so i looked over at his partner who was obviously a bible study and reached out to shake his hand and as i did i said to him the reason he wont shake my hand is that hes mad because i dont go to meetings anymore.
i walked away and nothing else was said.. .

What did you/do you think about at the meetings?
by tornapart inif you still go or remember the days when you did what did you think about while you were sat there?
obviously it's very difficult to concentrate.. lol..assemblies i find impossible and have often drifted off to sleep, listening to the endless same old stuff.. .
and i want some funny stories.. .

Was Your Experience As A Jehovah's Witness Good In Any Way?

i could've been raised as a catholic but my mother's side of the family came into "the truth" when i was an infant.
i do believe that because of my upbringing, i was a more honest person.

i am a regular pioneer in my cong reading crisis of conscience.here goes...
by MsGrowingGirl20 ini'm on page 90 right now...the info is definitely new and gives me a totally diff view as to how i used to think of faithful and discreet slave.
i was thoroughly disgusted with the way the brothers handled the oral sex and leadership problem and the insight on the scriptures book...... still have alot of questions though.
