Cars...our first true love?

okay here are my answers:

>1. What was your very first car?

when i got my driver's license i inherited my sister's car, who had inherited it from our grandfather. when i was seven, i rode to spokane washington in the back it. nine years later, the tan '80 VW rabbit was my ticket to freedom too bad the car didn't work in the winter! (below zero F temps and an old tired deisiel car...just didn't wanna run.) the thing was on it's last leg by the time i got ahold of it. and i killed it and so begins the saga of my cars.......lol if you know adam sandler's song "ode to my car" you know what i mean...i've had BAD luck with cars! lol (here's the link:

i take the bus or my bike. i don't mind it too much, cabs are pretty cheap for going out drinking or whatever

my dream car would be an old jeep wrangler because i've always wanted one. just think they are cool

Loss or gain?

on sunday, i sat outside the local kingdom hall waiting for the meeting to start.

being disfellowshipped, i was gonna go in late.... 20 minutes later.. i went to a starbucks instead.. i think im over it....i really do.. its a shame.

young people today

Young people are the same as they have always been, young.

i totally agree! i think every generation has problems with its young people. the only real thing i see "wrong" with today's youths is lack of parental involvement and that is not the youths fault.

something that has always bothered me about parents/kids relationships: parents unwilling to allow their kids to be their own person! this is why i lied, snuck around behind my parents back and was generally a punk! not to excuse my behavior but if my parents had been more open with me, allowing me to express my ideas and thoughts on life, i wouldn't have had to lie to them.

anyway, back to youth today......i think all kids/teens struggle to find their own identity and that's what's "wrong" with kids today, most adults want them to fit into their own little mold....not gonna work!

as for violent youth...especially in the USA, what do we expect? we are a violent country, we are going to produce violent kids!

Craziness and JW's

a simple question.. does being a jehovah's witness drive people insane or are insane people attracted to being a jehovah's witness?.

joel, this is a question that hits close to home for me. i have one brother (19 yrs old) with bipolar. as a kid he was AD/HD and at 17 (i think) had his first pyschotic episode which landed him in the hospital. this is when the doctors diagnosed him with bi-polar. he is on all sorts of medication now, still living at home and not working. i have a sister (32 yrs old) experiencing panic attacks now. i'm not sure what is causing these since i only hear about her thru my mother. but i can guess.... she is married to an elder and was always (in my mind) the perfect jw. that leaves my 24 yr old brother, i have no idea how he is doing, haven't talked to him in a few years and mom hasn't passed on any news. and then there is my 16 yr old brother. he is into his music and recording, i hope he will turn out as normal as can be. we were all raised in da troof and all of us have turned out differently.

i don't blame da troof on my brother's mental illness, alhtough i think in some ways, da troof and all that goes with it (fear, guilt, FEAR, GUILT!) definately makes it harder for him to realize what "normal" feelings are and what "psychotic" or even just irratioanal feelings are. for example, he has been banned from using the internet at my parents house for looking at porn. (which i understand- christian home, parents rules etc..) but he gets the lecture how porn AND masturbation are BAD BAD BAD. feel so sorry for the guy, here is he, 19, mentally unstable and he can't even release some frustration w/out feeling GUILTY and SINFUL. this makes me crazy!

btw, one nice thing my parents have done is allow him to stay home from meetings without the guilt trip. i thanked my mom for this and have scolded her that guilt is that last thing dave needs, especially guilt over missing the damn meetings! but she agreed with me. oh well. sorry for the rant....this just makes me so angry.

did being in the org really screw up your idea of what dating is.. i gues you would have to had "courted" in the org to answer this question.. the orgs idea of dating is in a sense to get married.. while outside.... marriage isnt even thought of for a looooong while.. my question is because i dont know if a girl is .

being casual or brushing me off : )

maybe ask her what happens, casual-like, "hey what happened last night? you get kicked offline?" does that happen a lot? how long you been talking? how often? lol, you don't have to answer any of these ?'s but just curious...
