  More on the Bryant Tragedy

  here are some excerpts from todays oregonian regarding the bryant family tragedy.

  on the night of his 17th wedding anniversary, robert bryant pulled a $100 bill from his wallet and bought a box of 12-gauge turkey shot, officials said monday.. sometime that feb 23rd evening, the bryant family went to bed.

  later, robert bryant got up, loaded two shotguns and shot each of his four children at close range.

  larc's thread on coupons gave me this idea.. we all know coupons can save you a few dollars or more.

  but how do you save real money???.

  do y'all have any tips that you wanna share?

  Make all cash purchases with bills only. Take the change at the end of each day and put it in a big glass container so you can see it grow. Once a month or so, take the change to a sorting mechine and roll it up. Put the money directly into a savings account.

  You will be amazed at the hundreds and hundreds of dollars that will start piling up.

  Hi Joelbear,

  Got to take issue with you one this one:

  To me it seems that they have to have something to which to be devoted to. Being a witness included having a deep devotion to "something".

  Patriotism is a simple fit since it is popular and has all the trappings of ritual. Objects of worship (flags, political icons, etc.), rituals of worship (pledge of allegiance, saluting, etc.) rituals of sacrifice (joining the army, standing in line to vote).

  I see very little patriotism among those who leave the WBTS. Those that do appear to do it for one of two reasons. Either out of a sense of responsibility to God, or out of appreciation for the democratic process that can only function properly if citizens participate. Both of which we were robbed of.

  Contrary to your claim of popularity, a great many Americans have forgotten what the countries were like that our immigrant ancestors came from and are apathetic to original American values. I have not forgotten.

  I shudder to think what the world would be like without a strong America. I think that is something each American should deeply consider.

  You gave an excellent reply. One that millions of Christians would easily give because of their bible based training. When, people become followers of men rather than what God instructs them to clearly do, they will always find a way to be disobedient..... no how many times God or anyone else tells them otherwise.

  when young children are manipulated and controlled by induced fear programming, this causes enormous suffering for many resulting as we know in emotional development trauma and a great unbalance within, where everything feels like its disjointed.. many of you were in this stage once, many of you are still going through painful recovery stages.

  from wherever you are right now, what positive mind tools and communication do you use with yourself to help generate and keep going the positive, healing processes?.

  i thought some of you may find this interesting.

  it is so humorous to look into the watchtower bible and tract society's own literature and so blatantly see they change their mind and lie so frequently.. these are direct quotes from their own literature.

  if you doubt my posting this, please check for yourself.. now to establish a precedence that the watchtower bible and tract society, the corporate religous entity which provides literature and oversees jehovah's witnesses worldwide, believes it is an inspired prophet, let us look at .

  Thanks for the quotes reborn.

  The funny thing is that the witnesses get the heebie jeebies when you show them things out of their own literature. It's like they view material a few years old as if it's apostate. However, if questioned about something in last weeks WT, you'll get a different response. I never understood why that was.

  well, sort of.

  every march since we moved in to this house, we have had a mallard couple fly to our yard daily.

  i totally forget about them until i look outside and there they are, waiting for bread.

  They really come back every year? That is really neat. Birds are far more intelligent that I ever gave the credit for growing up.

  When I volunteered at the San Antonio Zoo, I took care of the Water Fowl section. Every week I'd look forward to feeding the African Pygmie Geese. They were soooooo cute. And they made the cutest sound like a little ray gun or something.

  I'd like to have a big pond some day and have several types of Exotic Water Fowl.
