To my friends, some reflections...........
by JPandelo ini have had a week to reflect on my life and was thinking about what i have seen, what i am going through, and where i am going.
i know many of you here experience unbelievable pain, suffering, anger, depression, and disbelief.
i have lived with these myself.

Mark my words.....Time is short.....
by LDH inthe society will not and can not allow current levels of defection without sanction.
shunning is their hallmark and what allows members to live in their hypnotic dream-like state, away from the evil informative apostates.. soon they will have to either change their baptism questions again, with the phrasing something like &"only by doing all the things jw in good standing do can we be considered as jw" blah blah blah.
they will then use that as a springboard to da or df members who don't attend meetings.. either that, or they will adopt another one of their stunning resolutions [8>]like they've resolved in the past.

The entire super-structure is built on fear. If they change that or loosen it up what is left? Nothing.
The WTS chose a long time ago how to keep people in, if they change the fear tactic in any way, there will be an even bigger exodus and they must surely fear this.
Believe me, it won't change much or soon.

Tonites bookstudy
by Leander init took everything i had to stay seated thru the bookstudy tonite, i felt like getting up and leaving.
the fact that i'm the designated reader did'nt make matters any better either.
i'm not sure how many people on the forum have the isaiah's prophecy book but if you do have a copy check out chapter 21.. chapter 21 in paragraphs 3 talks about how enemies of the israelites (pharoah, nebuchadnezzar)were compelled to acknowledge that jehovah was with his people.

Nice one old friend! I can just see you mumbling that legend among a group of Witnesses at a Dallas party and then simply walking away. You have always cracked me up.
Hope you're doing well!

BITT,
I remember your comments on H20 back in '96 when I left. If you are the same person....you've come a long way.
No doubt you've discovered the emptiness in rationalism, self-centeredness of society in general, and lack of hope in "non-belief".
I feel for you, and I'm sorry your wife doesn't share your love of truth.
The simple truth of the matter is that we are free to choose what to believe. I tried going back after about 5 years too. It was a disaster.
Personally, I always knew that I could not ever exist in an environment that lacked love, hope, freedom and peace. It has been a long road. I found a similar existence in secularism as I did in the TRUTH equally repulsive.
I know you don't believe in life after death, but so many things can't be proven...like our origins for one. Ask yourself this, what is it about what Christ taught that would cause me not to just stop, and accept him as your savior?
Life will always require faith of some sort regardless of your world view. Life with Christ makes this one bearable and takes a huge load off our shoulders. You must realize that we never really knew Christ as JW's, didn't understand the indwelling we offer Him by acceptance, and then make a choice based on what that really means.
We were encouraged to find peace through fear and what we could get. The world promotes peace through self-exploration and compromise, only Christ offers peace through freedom and forgiveness. For me, that is the only place I have found true peace.
Read the book of Romans again.....slowly.
Good Luck in your journey,
Perry

Post JW Children??
by Perry inok, since we were all discouraged from having children in the wt world; i was wondering how many have reconsidered raising children for the sheer joy of parenthood and passing on their heritage.
even if not practical right now, how many would like to?

All bullshit aside, the Wt controlled every aspect of our lives....even child bearing. My honest question is how many here consider having children a fulfilling goal without the yoke of the WT.
Without sounding politiclly incorrect....please state your ethnicity along with your answer.
The results might be interesting to our common brotherhood.

How, can one put such pain into words. My ex-wife , daughter of a fill in CO was a psycho girl from hell. My son from my first marrriage decided that that jw life was too restricting ie., no sports etc. and demanded to move in with his alcholic mother that he could control.
The Elders shunned me because of poltics. I had no one . All alone. I decided to choose life. Get serious counseling.... I interviewed several. Finally dismantled business interests and went to college. There for the first time I learned to think. I never looked back. Freedon came with a price. It always does. I have no regrets.

Try an on-line screen play course. It's great stress relief... and could net you loads of money.
