(1 Peter 4:17) "...it is the appointed time for the judgment to start with the house of God."
Either 33 C.E. or 1918:
w04 3/1 p. 16 par. 15 - "....Christ Jesus...in 1918, he came to God’s spiritual temple and fulfilled Peter’s words: “It is the appointed time for the judgment to start with the house of God.” (1Peter 4:17)
w96 4/1 p. 18 par. 8 - Mankind has entered a period of judgment. We are informed at 1 Peter 4:17 that judgment started “with the house of God”—a judgment of professed Christian organizations that has been apparent since...1914-18.
bw chap. 8 p. 133 par. 49 - As a “house of God,” the Christian congregation had its beginning in 33 C.E. From that time onward its members have been under divine judgment.

Show Appreciation for “Gifts in Men” p.18 - 😄😄😄😄
Eph. 4:8 - "Therefore it says, “When he ascended on high he led a host of captives, and he gave gifts to men.” (not 'in' men) [fn] * (ESV) * anthrōpos - a human being, whether male or female.
1 Corinthians 13:8 - "...gifts...will be done away with...will cease;"
How to Overcome Doubts p.25 par.3 - "One way that we can resolve our doubts is by turning to God’s Word to find answers to our questions." (not literature?)
I had a doubt about the "slave's" claim that armageddon will be the final war, so I checked with the Bible.
Yup, the Bible contradicts the "slave" (yet again) by saying there's a war after the 1000 years! (Rev.20:7,8)
(w15 11/1 p. 8 - "Armageddon....in this final war")

Has The "Evil Slave" Died Out?
by Sea Breeze inthose of us who have deep roots into watchtower remember the shadowy whispers about "the evil slave" when we were kids.. for those that need to get up to speed: .
the internal crisis came to its full with the occurrence of an outstanding bible-predicted event, namely, the coming of jehovah’s “messenger,” christ jesus, to jehovah’s temple for judgment in the spring of 1918, to separate the “faithful and discreet slave” class from the “evil slave” group.

One of the contributors at an evangelical seminary in the USA who was involved in the NET Bible translation, declared this in the footnote:
w13 7/15 p. 24 - "One scholar says that in the Greek text, this passage “for all practical purposes is a hypothetical condition.”
So JW's should be thankful to a member of Babylon the Great for the "new light" and "food at the proper time." 😀

An EASY question for JW's to start with!
by BoogerMan in(acts 9:15, 16) but the lord said to him: “go!
(see acts 11:26).
(acts 5:40) .

For any JW's who have joined here in recent times - or are just lurking - maybe you'd like to consider contemplating a couple of the "slave's" teachings.
I posted the second question a few years ago, but am submitting it again for those who may have missed it.
1) According to Scripture, what & when is the final war?
w15 11/1 p. 8 - "Soon, God’s Kingdom will bring an end to these last days with the war of Armageddon. As noted earlier, those who perish in this final war will be those who refuse to “obey the good news about our Lord Jesus.” (2Thessalonians 1:8)
But what does the Bible Really Teach? 🤣
Revelation 20:7, 8) - "Now as soon as the 1,000 years have ended, Satan will be released from his prison, and he will go out to mislead those nations in the four corners of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together for the war. The number of these is as the sand of the sea." Oops!
2) According to Scripture, should Christians be witnesses of Jehovah?
Dozens of scriptures say that Christians would be witnesses of Christ, while not one verse states they would be witnesses for Jehovah.
(Matthew 10:18) ....before governors and kings for my sake, for a witness....
(Mark 13:9) ...be put on the stand......for my sake, for a witness to them.
(Luke 24:48) You are to be witnesses of these things.
(John 1:15) John bore witness about him, (Jesus)
(John 5:37) And the Father who sent me has himself borne witness about me.
(John 8:18) ...bears witness about myself, and the Father..bears witness about me.”
(John 15:26, 27) ....bear witness about me; and you, in turn, are to bear witness....
(Acts 1:8) ..witnesses of me in Jerusalem,.....the most distant part of the earth.”
(Acts 9:15, 16) But the Lord said to him: “Go! because this man is a chosen vessel to me to bear my name (Jesus) to the nations as well as to kings and the sons of Israel. For I will show him plainly how many things he must suffer for my name.” (Jesus)
(Acts 10:39) And we are witnesses of all the things he did.......
(Acts 10:43) To him all the prophets bear witness....
(Acts 13:31) .......These are now his witnesses to the people.
(Acts 22:15) ...because you are to be a witness for him (Jesus) to all men......
(Acts 22:20) ...and when the blood of Stephen your witness...
(Acts 23:11) ....witness about me in Jerusalem,.....also bear witness in Rome.”
(Acts 26:16) .....a witness .....................respecting me.
(1 Corinthians 1:6) ...the witness about the Christ has been made firm among you,
(1 Timothy 2:6, 7) ...this is what is to be witnessed to in its own due time.
(2 Timothy 1:8) ....the witness about our Lord......(Jesus)
(1 John 5:9) ....this is the witness God gives, the witness.....about his Son.
(Revelation 1:9) ......bearing witness concerning Jesus.
(Revelation 12:17) ....have the work of bearing witness concerning Jesus.
(Revelation 17:6) ......and with the blood of the witnesses of Jesus.
(Revelation 19:10) ....witnessing concerning Jesus...the witness concerning Jesus...”
(Revelation 20:4) ...for the witness they gave about Jesus......
The perfect Christ was assigned to be God's witness, and in turn, imperfect Christians were assigned to witness for Jesus Christ.
(Revelation 1:5) "....Jesus Christ, “the Faithful Witness,”
(Revelation 3:14) "....the faithful and true witness.."
(Revelation 19:11) "And the one seated on it is called Faithful and True,.."
Also, Christians were never told to do anything in/for God's name. The following verses show that Christ's name alone was always to be the priority for Christians:
(Isa. 62:2) ...a new name.....Jehovah’s own mouth will designate. (see Acts 11:26)
(Matthew 5:11) “Happy are you when people...say every sort of wicked thing against you for my sake.
(Matthew 12:21) Indeed, in his name nations will hope.”
(Matthew 10:22) And you will be hated by all people on account of my name,......
(Matthew 18:5) …receives one such young child on the basis of my name receives me also.
(Matthew 18:20) For where there are two or three gathered together in my name,....
(Matthew 19:29) .......for the sake of my name......will inherit everlasting life.
(Matthew 24:5) ...for many will come on the basis of my name,...
(Matthew 24:9) .......and you will be hated by all the nations on account of my name.
(Mark 9:37) ...on the basis of my name....
(Mark 9:39) ….will do a powerful work on the basis of my name...
(Mark 13:6) Many will come on the basis of my name,...
(Luke 9:48) Whoever receives this young child on the basis of my name receives me also.
(Luke 9:49) ….we saw someone expelling demons by using your name.
(Luke 10:17) “...even the demons are made subject to us by the use of your name.”
(Luke 21:8) ...for many will come on the basis of my name,...
(Luke 21:12) ......brought before kings and governors for the sake of my name.
(Luke 21:16, 17) .......and you will be hated by all people because of my name.
(Luke 24:47) ...and on the basis of his name, repentance for forgiveness of sins would be preached...
(John 2:23) .....many people put their faith in his name........
(John 5:27) .....in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice..
(John 14:26) But the helper, the holy spirit, which the Father will send in my name,
(John 15:16) ......no matter what you ask the Father in my name,
(Acts 2:38) Repent, and let each one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ
(Acts 3:6) In the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene, walk!”
(Acts 4:10) .....in the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene,
(Acts 5:40) . . .and ordered them to stop speaking on the basis of Jesus’ name.
(Acts 5:41) ....counted worthy to be dishonored in behalf of his name.
(Acts 9:14-16) .....all those calling on your name.....he must suffer for my name.”
(Acts 10:48) .....he commanded them to be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ.
(Acts 11:26) ..........the disciples were by divine providence called Christians. (not JW's?????)
(Acts 16:18) “I order you in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her.”
(Acts 19:5) On hearing this, they got baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.
(Acts 21:13) ...but also to die at Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus.....
(Acts 22:16) ....get baptized, and wash your sins away by your calling on his name.’
(1 Corinthians 6:11) ...been declared righteous in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.
(2 Corinthians 5:15) .....no longer for themselves, but for him who died for them.
(Philippians 2:10) .....so that in the name of Jesus every knee should bend......
(Hebrews 13:15) Through him (Jesus) let us always offer to God a sacrifice of praise, that is, the fruit of our lips that make public declaration to his * name.
(Revelation 2:3) ....and you have borne up for my name’s sake...
(Revelation 2:13) ......and yet you keep on holding fast my name,. . .
(The name of Jesus was to be "publicly declared," not Jehovah. See 28 "witness" scriptures)
Mr. Rutherford really chose the wrong name in 1931 for his re-branding exercise!

Alteration of Revelation 3:14 in the 4th century to support the emerging Trinity doctrine
by slimboyfat inin an earlier thread another poster asserted that there is no evidence that revelation 3:14 played a part in the 4th controversy that led to the trinity doctrine.
this was claimed as evidence that the description of jesus as “the beginning of the creation of god” in the verse was not understood to mean that jesus was god’s first creation.
the scholarly greek–english lexicon of the new testament & other early christian literature 3e (2001) by bauer, arndt, gingrich, and danker, in its latest edition states that “first creation” is indeed the probable meaning of the greek phrase.

@ Riley - "Why doesn't the Bible start with god created Jesus and Jesus created everything, instead of "let us create man in our image."
If the trinity is such a fundamental doctrine, why doesn't the Bible mention the Father, Son, & Holy Spirit together in just one legitimitate verse - and which even remotely hints at a union where all 3 are "equal in power & authority." (1 Cor.15:28)

Who Are the "Other Sheep" and Jesus "Brothers" ?
by Sea Breeze inwatchtower plays lots of games with definitions.
once they change a definition then they have a false assumption to build their deception on.
then they repeat the new definition and use its new meaning thousands of times to reinforce it.

Who Are Jesus' "Brothers"?
(Matthew 12:50; Mark 3:35; Luke 8:21; John 1:12,13; Rom. 8:14; 1 John 5:1 (RSV)
How were all of Jesus' disciples to address God? (Matt. 6:9)
Jesus promised that he would have one flock of sheep, not two different "classes". (John 10:16)
The Scrptures above clearly identify to whom they apply - all Christians in the one flock.
(Matthew 12:50) For whoever does the will of my Father who is in heaven, that one is my brother and sister and mother.”
(Mark 3:35) Whoever does the will of God, this one is my brother and sister and mother.”
(Luke 8:21) In reply he said to them: “My mother and my brothers are these who hear the word of God and do it.”
(John 1:12, 13) However, to all who did receive him, he gave authority to become God’s children, because they were exercising faith in his name. (becoming Christians!) And they were born, not from blood or from a fleshly will or from man’s will, but from God.
(Romans 8:14) For all who are led by God’s spirit are indeed God’s sons.
(1 John 5:1) Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ has been born from God, (a son) and everyone who loves the one who caused to be born loves him who has been born from that one.
Seems pretty clear from a Christian's perspective - despite what the self-appointed "slave" says.
