Angsty post
by zound ini'm not far away from sending out a bunch of letters to all the jw's who i knew when i was one.
the letters are the accumulation of the last few months of research etc.
i've put a lot of effort into wording things just right so that that the jw's don't instantly throw it in the trash.

How to act crazy enough not to have to go in FS or to meetings but not crazy enough to get committed to a mental health facility
by hoser ini was thinking if i acted a little off but not too far off the elders would tell me i'm not welcome in the door to door work.
i wonder if this would work.
there is a watchtower or awake article somewhere saying that a mentally ill person may be excused from the meetings and field service if his illness affected others.

LisaRose: As a former elder I was in that same mode of not even thinking about outside research. Although I stopped attending meetings and starting fading never once gave it a thought, for years.
Its so ingrained in us with this watchtower mentality to stay away from research or anything they consider Apostate. But a friend of mine who was a former bethelite asked me while eating lunch did I know of Raymond Franz?
I looked at him and said No but, I know who Fred Franz is. Then he slowly enlightened me about his two books and me not being a reader, wanted to know more. So, I read both of his books before my friend even picked it up. Then I told him some things in the book about the Malawi-Mexico fiasco and he started reading.
I never thought I would ever like reading because who really likes reading the watchtower anyway, I know I didn't, I just glanced over it like most j-dubs do. Well now I know TTATT and I can't get enough of it, it's a freeking eye opener to say the least.
So, don't give up on your sister, there is hope one day she will see the light.

by Stubborn Disbeliever inso my grandma just wrote me out of the blue today.

Yeah they love to use that expression "your breaking my heart" must be something they are told to say to us when we let them know our true feelings about the CULT. My daughter said the same thing to me.
I don't know if you guys watch NCIS on T.V. With Gibbs smacking Dinoso in the back of the head when he says stupid crap. Makes me want to smack Cult members in the back of the head and tell them to "WAKE THE HELL UP. SNAP OUT OF IT"
Save that quilt trip for other people who don't know TTATT.

I was working a house by myself in the county, i was 16 at the time and I knocked on the door and a lady came and invited me in. She was a new mother and her baby started crying so she whipped out her tit and started breast feeding. It freaked me out so I said here are your watchtower and awake magazines and I left quickly.
On another occasion I was working with my brother in law and we walked up to the door. It was my turn so I started talking to the lady of the house. She told us that she was getting her husband and she had this funny smirk on her face, and I got an uneasy feeling so I told my BIL "let's leave" as we were getting into the car he started shooting at us with his shotgun. We were far enough away that we could here the pellets hitting the roof.

Hi James: I am a former elder with grandkids who got baptized at a young age and it caused me great pain to see that happen, knowing what I know
About TTATT. But my daughter is still under the influence of the Cult and I'am trying to help her see the light. I remember a talk that was given about
False religion which said if there were only a little poison in a glass of water, would you drink it? No, because it's still poisonous and it would eventually
Kill you over time. Well, that's what's wrong with the WATCHTOWER ORGANIZATION. Research shows me that it's not a little poison mixed in with them
But the whole glass is filled with poison.
I don't have the option to direct my grandkids away from this disasterous Cult but you do have the option with your kids. My advise to you as a father
And as a spiritual head is to protect them by keeping them away from this Cult. I know if I had the option and the say so, I would keep them away from
This CULT at all cost for their physical, emotional, and spiritual well being.

More evidence of fraud in 2nd Peter: Noah didn't preach, per Genesis 6
by adamah inthanks for reading the 3-part series on the contradictory characterization of lot in genesis vs 2nd peter, analyzing genesis 19 and comparing it to 2nd peter 2. in the articles, i took a step-by-step approach to show how 2nd peter's declaring lot as "righteous" was exactly the opposite goal of the author of genesis, since the point of the story is how unrighteous lot was saved not due to his righteousness, but on behalf of his righteous uncle abraham (the star of the torah).. of course, the book of 2nd peter is widely acknowledged by nt scholars to be a fraudulent work, written under a pseudonymous (fake) name in order to 'patch up' some loose ends in the torah, likely to support then-blossoming doctines of christianity.
of particular interest to ex-jws is that one intent was to support the duty to warn others of the coming end of days, including the jw's beloved scripture, matt 28:19, that justifies their preaching work: "go thereforth and make disciples...." the only support for the claim that noah preached before the flood is found in 2nd peter, so it's a dubious claim.. in the latest article, i examine the flood account in genesis 6, showing how god had already condemned mankind even before he offered the covenant agreement to noah, so there's absolutely no reason for noah to be a "preacher of righteousness", as 2nd peter claims, since god's judgment had already been passed, and death sentence had been handed down.. .

Adamah: it's amazing the things we blindly miss due to complete brainwashing from the WB&TS.
Research is a beautiful tool to be employed by all to become enlightened. Shows the deception by the CULT to keep rank and file so busy wasting their time preaching and selling books and magazines, that they can't see any light at the end of the tunnel.
All the inconsistencies in the bible cause many to become atheist's and with good reason. Thanks for the thought provoking information.
