  i talked at length with ray franz this afternoon regarding the following comments by bill bowen: ray franz supports the wt policy on child abuse.

  he is the author of the two eye witness rule as well as the slander issue that prevents anyone from warning another of child abuse in the congregation.

  it is interesting that wt is willing to fight to the last man standing for a policy that in large part was founded by their biggest apostate.

  I have the utmost respect & admiration for what Bill has done and is doing. IMHO, Bill has become so entrenched in the war that perhaps he is becoming overwhelmed. Perhaps he was hoping for someone as respected as Ray to come out along with him, giving him the support that perhaps he needs. I don't know why he said what he said. I can only assume he's to far gone in this situation to be thinking straight.

  But I do think that it is better that we tell him when we think he is wrong, instead of just "sitting in our armchairs" thinking & saying nothing. THE PEOPLE HERE CARE - they care about the issue, they care about Bill. Most are saying this because they care, and for that he should be glad. Glad he doesn't have a bunch of worshipping "yes" men that won't warn him when he ventures into areas that could lose credibility to the very people he's trying to help.

  So Bill, if you're reading, take a break, regroup & get it back together. All here applaud & support your efforts. Many here have in many ways. For so many to be asking you to check yourself on this should say something. Listen.

  in the topic why is bill bowen attacking us?

  the topic's author asks about bill bowen, "why is he attacking ray franz, hillary_step and from what i've heard on this board also reinhard lengtat?".

  Weird Childhood Thoughts

  when i was growing up, i used to think that as long as they made fuzzy loving commercials (i.e.

  the faygo one was my favorite & coke second) that the trib & big-a couldn't possibly come!!!

  i also used to plan how i would hoard food & water in holes in my backyard that we wouldn't have to eat all the icky mice & insects my mom said we would have to live on.

  well no response from my uncle yet in nc on the 30 some pages of news articles on child abuse, undisfellowshiped's 4 sceneros of what happens with child abuse in the borg, jw.org "former members are not shunned", and meriam websters definations of desenter and aopstate.

  i sent it friday...maybe today...it's wednesday.

  if anyone is interested - using my own research and others i have put together a really nice 40 page un scandal piece.

  Robdar: I wasn't meaning to be disrespectful. I just find at this stage of my life that its nice to pick slices out of the child that was me, and disect to see the humor in some of my thinking process. If I didn't, I'd probably be insane by now (if I'm not - the jury's still out on that! ). But, I know, sometimes it is hard to find the humor in any of it.

  Scum: No why couldn't I think of that!!! lol - probably would only be KH cassettes at the time, my mother thought all worldy music was EVIL!

  non, je ne regrette rien.. mr. moe has said that she doesn't want to enter her 50's (that's about 25 years off, btw) and look back on her life with a feeling of regret.. relax, you probably won't!.

  you see, i have made the most apalling mistakes in my life.

  I think the only reason to feel "regret" is if you plan on doing something to correct the situation. That isn't always possible, but I think the one thing you learn in life is "to forgive yourself".
