  What exactly is your point BC? To prove this man isn't a saint? Okay - didn't see anyone here calling him one. So, what more is there to be gained from this? The man admitted he was involved in things for which he is ashamed - so you're once again "beating a dead horse".

  It sounds as if you feel particularly maligned by this person - so perhaps you should work this out with him privately. I believe Ray's already paid his debt to society, and has also set the record straight. WHAT MORE DO YOU WANT?!!!

  I find it strange that these Bill vs. Ray threads continue to crop up. Haven't both Bill & Ray given their opinions of this situation?

  Ray never said he was a saint - what do certain of you people want? Does he owe any of us an apology? If he did, hasn't he paid his debt to "us" with the 2 books he wrote to set the records straight? What more could you possibly want from the man? Blood? What could he do to make it anymore right than he already has? Do you know Carl well enough to say that perhaps that situation wasn't made "right" by Ray either? Do you know for a fact whether he did apologize to this man if IN FACT he DID have anything to do with his situation (if you read Carl's account - Rays name NEVER comes up).

  OH yea - ditto Qwerty - except i say leave them both alone (Ray & Bill). The arguments have been gone over & over again, and neither of the 2 particulars are even interested any longer. let it go....its doing nothing, proving nothing & getting noone anywhere.

  A Very Touching Saga

  as most of you know, i served in vietnam and belong to a group of veterans comprised of men that served either in my unit or sister units of the 7/17th air cavalry.

  tonight, as has happened many times, one of my "brothers" posted a special memory and i am going to share that memory of his with you.

  the reason i am posting it here is to show that although many of us may argue about world events and can at times be bitterly divided, we who have been there do not support military action lightly.

  Amen to Farkel & JoRiz

  What does anyone get from this?!! When JW-doubters come here looking for answers the first thing they are recommended to do is read Ray Franz' book. That should speak for itself imho.

  Why someone would want to drag up all this sh*t just to take a jab at Ray makes absolutely no sense. Are you getting something from it, criticizing a man who isn't here to defend himself, to try to ruin the credibility of an author who has written books which have helped who knows how many leave the grasp (that you were all in mind you) of the JW's? Sheesh....surely there are more noble causes, better points to make.

  Hopefully, this post will go to where it belongs, the bottom of the pile before some poor JW-doubter comes along, reads this & then decides that perhaps Ray isn't credible.

  Ray Franz left in 1980, Carl Johnson wasn't df'd until 1982 - how did Ray Franz have a hand in doing this slander? Isn't it very possible that it was because of individuals such as Carl Joanson that Franz left himself?

  I've never actually called myself an "ex-JW". If the matter of religion comes up, I might relay that I used to be a JW, I also used to dabble in Budhism. The only place I hear this expression is here, or the media.

  So, I just consider myself "Rhonda" and my handle isn't "ex-JW", its "mother of my children".

  Yes, the diet can be expensive, but if you decide to do it, and if there's anything I can do to help out (i.e. I don't know if the "gluten free" items are cheaper here in America - a bag of pretzel is around $1.75 for small bag) just let me know!!!! I'd be happy to help out. Or materials too, please just let me know.. I'd be happy to ship anything you need!

  Shera - have you tried gluten/caisen free diet yet? I know with our nick, it helped ALOT with his stimming issues, and the aggresive tendancies. It didn't curb it 100%, because of the sensory issues, but it helped alot of the symptoms (at least 70% improvement in our case). Nick was even a poop smearer until a year ago. But through ABA, we learned alot of teaching skills to work through some of his more disgusting tendancies, and were finally able to get him 80% potty trained by 6 (I thought we'd never get there).

  Sorry, its the PAC in me, how are your schools at offering services? Do you have a good experience with your IEP's? Sorry, its the little advocate in me.....I don't mean to be nosy!

  Dantheman - there are alot of services available for adults w/autism as well - ABA therapy works for all ages (although more benefits are derived at earlier ages of course). Do you have "custody" of your brother, or does he live in a "group home" type situation, or at home w/your folks? I'm always curious of others adult experiences, as one day my little guy will be one. Same for you Brummie - where do you work with these individuals? I find my state (Michigan) doesn't have alot of services for adults - & since some day I know I'll be campaigning in that area, I'm always wondering about some of the "good choices" available for our little ones when they've gotten passed the schools "age" limit for assistance.

  Brummie - actually my "charity" work is working alot with the schools, and other parents of children w/special needs. Most schools are completely inept at dealing w/autims (constantly trying to force our "circle" children into their "square" programs/schools). I'm on PAC (Parent Advisory Committee) so I work with parents who need help dealing with the laws or with their own situations (i.e. IEP meetings - always a toughie). And thanks for the compliment - sometimes it can be so stressful that its nice to hear!! I don't think I'm all that special - in fact in some ways "raising" Nick is easier than my other son (15 - & teenagers aint that different lol). I'm just a mom that adores my kids w/all my heart - the rest falls easily into place.

  Same here in America - our gas bill has gone up an average of 55%, electricity 22%.
