Hello to all of you...
by ExpandedMind ini've been visiting this website for months and decided it's time for me to say hello to all of you... so "hi!
i have been away from the wts for a while, but lately have felt a need to get in touch with others who have travelled the same path.
until relatively recently, i thought that all was "well" (relatively speaking) in the organization, but have found it facinating to read the comments of those who are still associated with the wts and how they are dealing with it.

Hi & welcome to the forum!!! I have to say that I find your comments refreshing & definitely will look forward to hearing more of your thoughts. I appreciate a good discussion, even though "unwelcome posts" may appear to take alot of "crap" - rest assured some of us truly do feel that we learn by listening (reading) from a pool of opinions, and truly appreciate someone who "thinks outside the box".

Practicing charity 365 days a year?
by meadow77 ini know that the holiday seasons are over now, but there is something that has been brewing around on my mind.
i was watching a news article about an overnight delivery service.
they were interviewing a young woman who delivered packages on christmas day.

Excellent observations Meadow - and I must admit I could never figure out in all my years as a JW why charitable works weren't considered "time worthy". For some reason, field service was always considered to be the "greatest gift of all", so therefore all others acts of kindness were unwarranted (unless of course it was for a fellow JW).
I feel more christian in one year as a non-JW than i did in 16 of being a JW - weird for being the only true religion of God huh?

First lesson - you can never argue w/um when they've been drinking. They cannot reason, nor do they want to. Best to just let them pass out, and get over the hang over.
#2 - Hardest one - if he won't "help" himself, there will be nothing you can do, except help yourself. Contact Al-Anon and go to a couple of meetings - you might find some answers and good advice there.
This must be so hard......email me if you need to talk.

David Duke: Will he survive?
by Kenneson inan interesting story on david duke appeared in yesterday's paper.. "david duke, the former kkk leader and politicians who spent the past three years preaching 'white survival,' pleaded guilty wednesday to bilking his supporters and cheating on his taxes.
duke, 52, could get up to 15 months in prison and $10,000 in fines under a plea bargain reached with federal prosecutors.
he is free on bail until his sentencing march 19. the plea to felony charges also disqualifies duke from running for public office again.".

I'm with you Mary - I can't wait till he gets there!!!! I'm sure he'll request being "separated" from the regular prisoners though - big crybaby!!! He can dish it out, but when it comes to taking responsibility for his views, he'll whine like a little girl crybaby.....waaaahhhh.
