Sounds like she's coming around - albeit slowly. Baby steps are probably for the best however, as the decision to leave is a hard one, and not to be taken lightly.
Glad to hear progress is being made Minimus!
major headway has been made.
my wife has said that she would like to read coc!
i recently bought 30 years a watchtower slave.

i can't believe i'm starting a thread on this after four years of participating on jw discussion boards.
lately there seems to be a band of posters who believe that all opinions must be respected (wtf?).
they believe that any type of criticism or alternate viewpoints constitute an 'attack'.
Thanks Bradley - you had my blood boiling there for a minute as one who does not consider herself to be of a "superior mind", but a great deal of common sense. (that was a joke - I was not offended).
But, it does prove a certain point - someone could have taken offense at a comment like this, feeling that the poster was taking a "superior" or "arrogant" stance, and then begin the slippery slope down to name calling and degradation of an otherwise interesting discussion. I see this alot in threads - people post something where the meaning could be taken as an insult. Someone posts a "response" they have to "prove" themselves, or knock the original poster off their pedestal. The original poster, now also offended, has to "one up" etc. etc. etc.
The best way to avert these mis-communications is imho to ASK! By calling out & asking for an explanation of what appears to be an insultive intent post. or an arrogant one, the original poster has the opportunity to clarify, before they become the "evil" villian, and someone to take to task.
Not that I'd ever take Bradley to task - he's just too cute! and a sweetie to boot!
... on holiday!!!!.
yahoo!!!!!!.
two weeks camping in the south of france watching my girlfriend's bum go brown.
Have a great time Abbadon - sounds like a lot of fun!!!
P.S. Did your mother not tell you that watching your girlfriend's bum turn brown was also a bad thing???? naughty boy!
becoming a cult leader is not as tough as you might think.
all it takes is a little charisma and some insecure, feeble-minded followers.
the reasons you might wanna become one are many -- it pays well (and all of it tax-exempt), you get lotsa nookie, you can get other people to do your laundry, etc..
other words they are channelling and the vibrations are most vibratory at 3, 4 am and often thats when the most important truths are made known.
You can say that again!!!!!

Hmmm.....hot topic just waiting for flames, and only one smoldering ash at this point.....must be all the "heavies" aren't around for this little smorgesboard.
Logan you said
are in the least way being questioned by superior minds
What exactly makes a "superior" mind in your opinion? I'd be interested in your response. Minds "under-developed" in what way? Book smarts? There's alot more to life than "book smarts" and being able to understand Einstein.
As far as "thin" or "thick" skinned - shouldn't be necessary if anyone actually paid attention in Kindergarten where basic rules of respect of others were taught to EVERYBODY - not just JW's.
I have no problem with someone "disagreeing" with me - I have a BIG problem when someone relates their disagreement with me as an opportunity to make themselves feel "superior" by pointing out how "stupid" I am. Calling names, down right rude comments are completely uncalled for. As if anyone didn't know that. If people can't see the difference, then our school systems and especially the parents are completely lacking in teaching some basic human rules of conducts. Actually, from what I understand, "intellectually superior" persons tend to be very lacking in the emotional I.Q. department, and can't seem to understand how their behaviors, comments or actions might upset other people.
There is no body language on these boards to discern a writer's intent, which is 95% of human language. This has been pointed out umpteen times on this board. People (including myself) should take this into consideration before hitting the "submit" button.
recently we had a death in the family.
my little baby, my granddaughter died before she reached the age of 2.. i really loved that little girl.
this saddens me to no end.
(((Andy))) - there are no words that can be said to bring any peace to you during this time - but just know you are in my thoughts and prayers - My sincerest condolences.
Rhonda
the tread on having children got me thinking about birth control and its role in the borg.
after my daughter was about a year old we tired to have another child.
thinking it would be good for our daughter to have a brother or sister.
(((Maverick))) I am so sorry for your loss. I myself lost a child, and I know how deeply painful it can be - even years later. Nothing can ever fill the void left, regardless of how many children one is blessed with in life. My heart goes out to you.
But, should you ever choose to have more - vasectomy or no, they are able to get around this little problem if a couple changes their mind (just a few more trips to the doctors office).
i just read this on another thread:it seems to me , that nowadays "anything goes" and thats a shame.
do any of you really believe that our societies morals are any less decrepid than any other time in history?
if so, can someone tell me of any time in history that was more "morally" righteous, pure or wholesome?.

As a JW, we were taught this was a definite sign of the "end", but I'm having a hard time seeing it. I watch documentaries on how people were treated in our history, and it seems to me that mankind is slowly but surely IMPROVING our conduct towards our fellow human beings.
What do you think?
"do jws use toilet paper?
"are witnesses allowed to swim in the ocean?".
"can sisters wear the color red since it signifies harlotry?
Bradley - Cheeky!
Really though - if all the available threads are not interesting to you - couldn't you just start your own?
my name is shannon, and i usually post on the exjw's forum.
this one has been mentioned several times, so i thought i'd mosey on over and see what it was like.
if anyone is interested, i was raised in the borg, and i left five years ago at 19 years of age..
Welcome Andune!!!
I remember you from Tim's board! Glad you found your way over!
Rhonda
P.S. - This place is a "wilder" ride, but I think you'll enjoy it - there's something for everyone!
