  Twisting the scriptures??????

  i spoke with my sister on the phone today who still attends meetings.

  the co visit was last week and she said in his talk he related the bible story of joseph and potaphers wife and he made the statement that joseph was a pedephile and that is why he went to prison.. where in the world could the wt be going with this line of reasoning?

  Probably to show that God forgives all his children their crimes, unless its questioning his wifely organization - thats unforgivable

  'Prepare for Banning' A HOAX! READ INSIDE

  my friend called me last night and said that his mother heard a letter read on monday night at her congregation meeting that said that the rank and file should be prepared to be banned, to go underground, and persecution is coming soon, that halls would be taken, and such.

  that these things are definitely coming soon.

  could this be the spin that the wt is heading towards.....instead of facing the hard issues, make the issues the boogeyman and shut down the halls, giving the elders ultimate power?

  I think they know of the March on friday, and what better way to pre-emptively strike then instill sudden fear & panic w/in the hearts of the rank & file? If they do see news of the march, they will now see it as yet another sign.

  hi all - i can't be at the march, but i plan on being there in spirit by leaving 50 candles (votives in the bags w/sand) along with a lamb on the door w/a letter of explanation of why its there.. any other suggestions?.

  Silent Lambs/Negative Reactions?

  i just finished listening to "what does our future hold" speech on randy's site, and it brought this thought to mind..... i don't feel the r/f jw's will see this as anything but satan's "deviously scheming" to bring an end to their organization.

  after all, most who will attend the march are either "apostates" (or will be) or df'd.

  i wonder if most will see it as a "sign" that the end is really near, and send them running back to the halls?.

  Not that it matters, the goal is to change the WT policy. I wonder if God will give us any credit for "making his peoples light burn stronger"?

  Absolutely - I can't be at the march, but instead I have chosen to go to my local kh w/candles & leave them burning in front of the building (hopefully not catching anything on fire) with lambs tied to the door handles. I've purchased 50 cheap candles - hope they stay lit till someone sees it!

  22: are child molesters ever allowed to go door-to-door alone?

  35: (very important question) is it true that former governing body member leo greenlees was removed from the governing body for a molesting a child?

  Hey - how many return bible studies do you think it will take to review all this!!!! & How many elders do you think an "interested" one will go through as many will become doubtful of their own beliefs & have to step away from this particular study!!!!

  Twister! What Would You Do?

  last week there was an f3 tornado that occurred in the vicinity of my brother's home in bloomington, indiana.

  all weekend long and for the first part of this week i have waited to see if anyone would call and let me know they are okay.

  last month my 18 year old niece died in a car accident in bloomington.

  Tammy - of course you should call them if you want!!!! They df'd you - you didn't df them. You call whenever you want, but realize the pain that could come with any of the typical rejection bull.

  I call my own mom at least once a month, just to let her know I still love her, and its been 17 years. Every once in awhile she actually will speak for a few moments, at least about others in the family. Most times, I end up crying, but thats okay. It means I still feel, that I'm alive and okay, unlike my own mother who will go to her grave with nothing but sadness & loss.

  If the person who shows up is male, I will first clarify that he isn't a secret pediphile as I have children in the home. Then, I would answer his question with obviously not, as people throughout history, before, during & after Jesus have "prayed" and they all ended up in the same place - no one gets out of here alive.

  I think its the sheer laziness on their part - it would be too difficult a task to straighten out their brain patterns on anything & they don't have enought WT material laying around to sort it all out for themselves. One thing I've learned, you very rarely can find a JW that can sit down & have a real discussion with you without any "study" aids. Any questions directed, they have to get back to ya, and they do, equipped with a bunch of WT publications.

  They don't really understand the "bible", they don't really understand "God" and they don't really understand themselves. What else can they do but let Jah sort it out for them?

  Why should they report?

  i know this is gonna earn me a bad rep.. but i think it needs to be brought up.

  i am just playing the devils advocate here.

  why should there be a remedy of punitive damages for jw's that bring up the spectre of child abuse when the law doesn't require that ministers go to the law to report?

  Its not an issue perse of whether the elders should report the abuse. The issue is that they DISCOURAGE the victim from reporting to the authorities, they discourage the victim from appropriate therapies, they don't condemn the person who commited this atrocious crime, usually ignoring the situation because of the 2-eyewitness rule. Therefore, they allow this to happen & should therefore be judged themselves. (kinda like aiding & abetting if you ask me).
