(Sigh) problem is the ones who need this information - the JW's themselves won't get it. They are so blinded to the flaws within their own organization they would just look at articles such as this as "Satan's persecution" instead of a wake-up call.

Cant agree with you more Dia....its funny because I always thought I had "become" intelligent after I left the JW's. As the JW's weren't encouraging "higher" education during my stint, most of us didn't care about schooling - to many more important things to worry about. I worked hard after leaving, and thought I had attained some level of intelligence. Then I came here and was BLOWN AWAY at how smart everyone else is - makes me feel like a really big dummy.
for those of you inclined to prayer, i request it in behalf of my dad.
he is in the hospital for a blood clot in his leg, which is potentially quite dangerous.
he cannot move until it is dissolved, if that happens.

my wife hit a deer while driving her new vw passat with less than 300 miles on it.
thats the car with the 300 miles on it.
we dont know how many miles the deer had on it at the time of collision.
BB - that must have been scary for the missus - hopefully she did not sustain any injuries (although the heart in the throat can be painful enough as it is).
We have the same problem in michigan - too many cars & deers trying to use the same roads.

following on the heels of what bowen said about ray, i began to see a statement that real soon began to get under my skin.
i've read it several times since and i hafta say: that little irritant is beginning to fester more than i care for.
the statement was something in the neighborhood of, "let's not get side-tracked with this franz / bowen fiasco and remember who our real enemy is... the watchtower society!".
I have absolutely adored reading all sentiments expressed on this thread - both sides strike chords deep in my heart.
Is the WBTS the enemy - yes for some it's the symbol of alot of the pain & suffering they continue to have to this day because of the policies of this organization. Is it any 1 particular persons' fault - especially those we had come to know and love - well no. They are in no different state of mind than were most of us before we left. Its' summed up in a Don Henley song for me:

last week i told some of you about the elder that went to court in behalf of my niece's rapest,died in a car accident.he himself was also acussed of raping his own child.i was very happy at the time but now i feel sick to my stomach.

its an oldie i know.. i remember, years ago, my parents had some people around for dinner that we never talked to.

in reading it, i am positive both my youngest son and his wife have it.
Gamaliel - are you comfortable with the school's decision that he no longer needs auxiliary services? They cannot make those kind of decisions for you. Especially in the areas of social skills, it has been my experience that most Aspergers/Autistic children need extra help all the way through their scholastic years - every little bit helps and they need all they can get. I hope you & your wife feel comfortable with the IEP and that you were the ones that made these decisions. As the parents - you have the say - no one else - especially not the schools.
