As soon as I gave up "dating" and decided to just concentrate on myself & having fun, I met my hubby. (nah - that's a good thing).

Good point Sheila - sometimes either party could be withholding sex as a punishment towards their partner, making sex a symptom of much larger miss-understandings.
I know women "tend" (just generalizing) to equate love w/sex, while men just equate w/physical pleasure. Perhaps the points she was trying to make is that women should not be withholding sex as a control tool? (which would make obvious sense). BUT, to make a blanket statement that a woman should have sex everytime a man wants it, without looking at the individual relationship is absurd.
But the same should work for both sexes - and like Sheila said - respect is key. And why I'm on this computer discussing this issue, instead of in bed w/dh now that jr's asleep - egads!

lol - thanks Rocketman - it aint all that much really - but it fills up a day! (that's why I have to read my favorite blogs at work!). Plus, I tend to be on the hyperactive side (till I found this dang computer!).
My point was that there can be many issues why a woman might not be particulary interested in giving up sex on any given occassion. There could be reasons why a man might not feel like performing either. The key to a HEALTHY relationship in the sex arena is understanding the other, so that neither is left wanting. Being considerate & sensitive to the others needs is important for both.

Because sometimes we're just too tired.
I work full time, have 2 children that go to school in 2 different school districts & 1 is autistic. Now, if that child actually goes to sleep when he's supposed to, mom & dad MIGHT get a peaceful night. 5 nights out of 7 - aint happening that way. We also are both involved in other activities (i.e. I do alot of advocating for children w/special needs), and sometimes I am to drained to do it. So what? There is no rule book that says a man should get it every time he wants it.
I've said no to my hubby on occassion, and we still have a normal healthy sex life. I don't feel like I HAVE to give it up everytime he asks, why should I?
BTW - I don't get it everytime I ask for it either - does that mean he's doing something wrong? Doubtful, the world doesn't revolve around sex - that's just 1 part of a healthy relationship.
