Thanks guys.

since the days of da judge, dub leaders have scorned education and science.
to, victims, predators, moral degenerate, selfish, liar, anarchist, pawn of satan, materialistic, drug addicted, fetus-killing, promiscuous slut we can now add homosexual, marriage wrecker, juvenile and adult delinquent with venereal disease.. see what getting a genuine education or reading works by those who have one can do to you?
to victims, predators, moral degenerate, selfish, liar, anarchist, pawn of satan, materialistic, drug addicted, fetus-killing, promiscuous slut, homosexual, marriage wrecker, juvenile and adult delinquent with venereal disease, worship of the wild beast, we add spiritist, atheist, and communist.. *** w55 1/1 8 part 1: early voices (1870-1878) ***.
They are: highball poker playing eschatological losers, secretive high-binders and slanderous Chinese-whisperers, high-blowers of high-pitched self important hymns, high-day revellers at the hoped-for slaughter of billions, authors of highfalutin, high-flown, high-minded, high-sounding teachings about their own highty-tighty high class, Oh, and high-handed, high 'n' mighty pharisees…on the high-road to hell.
That's the Shorter Oxford English Dictionary covered, but there's no mention of 'higher criticism'.
Thanks for the post, Farkel.

Interested? Not even a bit. But it's good to know a Welsh girl hasn't run off with first prize.

i would like to know your view, is the watchtower organization under a curse!!!?.
i feel they are; here is why:.
1) galatians 1:8 however even if we or an angel out of heaven were to declare to you as good news something beyond what we declared to you as good news let him be accursed.. has the watchtower gone beyond what paul declared as good news or is it the same as paul taught.. wt good news is all about them and how they are gods organization and if you recognize them you will be saved (of coarse they dont leave out jesus), its just that its of secondary importance because now his kingdom has been born and we all need to not doubt them that they are gods organization, to get life.. 2) 2peter3:16 mentions that some ...are twisting ,as they do the rest of the scriptures to their own destruction.. is the wt twisting scriptures to their own destruction?.
I don't know about curses, but they are under a pile of rotting paper called 'light' detailing everything they have ever done or said:
#They manufacture their own persecution.
#They set inhuman policies "from God".
#They keep saying "Armageddon is just coming" and keep investing in new real estate.
#They tell lies, and fabricate support from the same world they claim to shun.
#They tread on the down-trodden among their own ranks, and villify all opinions which are inconvienient.
If that's a curse, they are cursed alright, but by the only God they have: their own organisation.

aren't you sick of being filled with so much hate ?
i think hate is one of the greatest sins.
satan hates jehovah, and his people.
Explorer,
I read very little, if any, hate among the people here; most of us only know each other at a 'textual' level and haven't even seen each other, or even a picture. So when there is hatred expressed, it is usually against ideas. We rarely came up against this in the organisation, not because the congregations were so remarkably loving, but because thought was suppressed by fear in the cause of organisational control.
This is a good place, imo.

how have the wtbts' teachings changed since russell's day?
the wt article from march 1916 "the great multitude" contains some significant pointers.
how would you compare these to modern teaching?.
The WT article from March 1916 "The Great Multitude" contains some significant pointers. How would you compare these to modern teaching?
1.) A relatively gracious tone toward 'other' Christians:
It is not ours to read their hearts; but it is ours, as Jesus said, to know them by their fruits. Yet even here we might deceive ourselves. The only safe way for us, therefore, in respect to persons who claim to be Christians and who live an upright and moral life is to take them for what they profess to be.
Many tares
['false' Christians], we understand, are very talented, very honorable, and very wealthy. They really, however, have neither part nor lot with the true Church of ChristThey do not deny the Lord. Indeed, many of them would die rather than directly deny Him. Yet by their works they do deny Him
There is no mention of apostates here. Could a modern WT article on this subject have resisted a denunciation of the 'evil slave'? Not likely.
2.) The 'class view' of salvation:
Class c) (see above)"tares", b) "conquerers", and a) "more than conquerers".
two classes in the Church, all of whom are spirit-begotten, all of whom are called with the same High Calling, all of whom had similar opportunities for attaining the great prize.
The Great Company described in our lesson will be overcomers… those of this class who will be living in the end of the present Age… The Lord will lead them to the waters of life. But they will not be, like the Bride, possessed of immortality
Nevertheless, there is a still higher position that will be attained by some… these will be the Little Flock to inherit the Kingdom-- these will be the Royal Priesthood--these will constitute the Bride, the Lamb's Wife and Joint-heir.
[144,000]The "more than conquerors" are of course Russellites to the fullest extent, the hardest workers, most sacrificing, etc.
The comparison with Mormonism with its 'levels' of heaven is striking, and it probably comes from Adventism. So too with the emphasis on works, the article finishes with a rouser…
3.) Working towards salvation:
Seeing these things set forth so clearly in the Word of God, shall we not be the more earnest hereafter, the more loyal, the more faithful, that we may obtain the highest reward, even that to which the Lord has invited us--to become members of the Body of Christ, members of the Royal Priesthood?
I still haven't found much anti-apostate bile in the earlier Watchtowers, but I've only just got started. Perhaps I'll have to wait for Rutherford's influence to be felt for that. The class system of salvation, and salvation by works, however, appear to be as strong then as they are today.

for everyone the humans god.
ever loving, ever true,.
and cannot ever misconstrue.
For everyone the human’s God
Ever certain, ever just
Ever loving, ever true,
Jehovah God in whom we trust
And cannot ever misconstrue
But as the flood-waters slid back
And Noah began his new day
How long before God’s chosen
Exposed himself in drinking,
Like all those judged and swept away?
When Enoch cried out to his God
For rescue amidst wicked men
The help: a surprise when it came along,
A lesson for all,
Was God killing him, not them.
Was Samson a cruel Pyromaniac?
Or did he reap God’s harvest’s desire
As he loosed three-hundred foxes
Bound,
In pairs - with their tails on fire?
Why should God, with all the might,
Prefer such ruses de guerre,
And practices of scheming
Cunning plans,
For his generals foul and fair
Whose heart can love Fool Jephthah?
Ambitious for his nation
Who offered up a random life:
One daughter,
To advance Israel's station
Did Abram’s nephew love his daughters
And fill himself with wine
To erase the pictures of his own shame,
Red and clear,
The pictures from his mind
When Abraham haggled over lives
In the coinage of a righteous God
Were there tears of laughter in heaven?
At Sodom,
Or at saving the family of Lot?
Who cannot mourn for little Isaac?
That his father's godly terrors
Led him so easily with a lie, a rope,
And a killing knife,
Up the mountain of his errors
As David’s Ark of the Covenant listed
And strong men watched it slide
When one braced his body to save it,
For this
God struck, and one died
And He never found within His heart
The forgiveness of mere men
But needed the blood of innocence,
To drip and stick
Upon his altars, again and again
Just as then, the earth cries out
When incidental lives are lost,
To the specter of that sanguine God's
Self-loathing,
For His petty pride, the cost
For all these loved a human God:
Not always certain, nor just
Not always successful,
Nor even true,
Jehovah God whom still we trust
And cannot ever misconstrue
