  i have never heard of this before, but i think it is worth knowing.. i have come across a rather strange story.

  yes it is legitimate and some details are left out to protect this persons identity.. this lady is having problems in her feet and hands.

  the doctors find that gangrene is setting in.. it is decided that the legs up to the knees must be removed to stop the spread of septic infection.. the fingers are also to be removed because the infections are starting in the extremities.. it is discovered that a tampon has been left in the vagina for a long time.

  Yeah H B I would assume that it is the same as toxic shock, but I had never heard of such results.

  This poor lady is devastated beyond belief.

  It is discovered that a tampon has been left in the vagina for a long time. How long, why, did she forget? I don't know.

  The tampon was the source of the infection and the results. The answer, don't forget the tampon.

  There is other info but it may reveal the ladies identity so it is left out.

  Threads like this always end up with a lot of hostility and anger.

  have any of you ever thought that you would be with somone forever in a paradise earth?

  then you realize that it was all a bunch of lies.

  you slowly watch the marriage you had dissentgrate before your eyes.. you want desperately to fix it, but you are being pulled in too many directions.

  Yes, only it was more than 25 yrs. and the disintigration was rapid.

  In my case it involved more than just the wbts-elders-shunning.

  I believe that many jw lives explode due to more than just the evil religion. But that the cult exacerbates and gives the destroyer a feeling of cooperation and acceptance from others who are equally evil in their behaviour.

  Then we "the survivor" will need help in rebuilding our lives. It can be done, as you will find from this forum.

  Seeking help from "worldly" counselors and doctors are very helpful.

  Building friendships with these "worldly people" you will find to be most helpful.

  You can and will survive and come to know that you are"" loveable and loved by others.""

  Many of us on this forum have fought the same battle you face and we all survived and for many if not all, their time after leaving the cult, becomes the happiest most rewarding times in their lives.

  Put your fears and griefs and sadness in print here if you feel the need and you will get all the help we can give. Above all DO NOT GIVE UP!!

  Am I over reacting?

  my sisters came home yesterday and said someone was following them home from school, they got very scared and ran the rest of the way home.

  they also told me that these two men had also followed one of their friends home a few days ago.

  should i call the school and report it or should i call the police station?

  Report this to the police first and ask for an officer to come and interview the two children. Then report it to the highest ranking member in the school and again ask that they interview the children.

  This sounds very much like the conduct of truly dememted rapists.

  When I was a sheriffs deputy we would respond to a call like this quickly.

  I just want to be a normal person again.

  If you were born into a JW family, you were never normal Toby.

  So you can't go "back" to being normal.

  But you can "become" normal over time, after you discard the "so called truth".

  It takes some time and some effort. But little by little you will see it develop.

  This is one reason why we should check out our new beliefs and actions and behaviour.

  Because we are now building this new personality, and dropping the old personality

  created by the wbts. We want this new personality to be of " OUR MAKING" and not

  a mix of the thinkings of others. This is my situation.

  However if you do have an original personality to return to, it is that much easier.

  i thought i would share an experience from the congregation i was assosiated with in utah.

  about 17 years ago i caught my 15-year-old stepson molesting my 3-year-old daughter.

  of course, the first action taken was to call the elders.

  TF you mentioned helping others. Helping others is an old and approved method of healing ones self in a variety of situations.

  With a still active jw in the family it is a touchy and difficult thing to do.

  One way you can help others is to participate in this forum and use your experiences with the jw's to help others that come here with more or less the same problems you have lived through.

  I would recommend that you stay around and become a useful, helpful, person helping those who need help and come to this forum.

  That way no one other than you have to know what you are doing at this time and as you grow more and more confident in yourself you can maybe make use of your new knowledge to help your husband and family.

  Were you ever a victim of the "JW STARE"?

  you know what i'm talking about... .

  for instance, if you go to a meeting and haven't been there for ages.

  your stand up during the song and suddenly what seems like the whole cong gets afflicted with the jw stare.

  One time I was in a mans clothing store and noticed this elder was there, quite a ways away from me.

  Keep in mind this was the jerk that once told me that " there is nothing I enjoy more than a good argument or a fight".

  He was slowly walking my way and then noticed me. He got this very confused look on his face and started to walk faster, away from me.

  I saw a chance for some fun and started to walk quickly after him and he actually ran out of the building.

  With me walking fast and laughing. Then I look around and several people are looking at me with this "what the hell was that" look.

  Another time my wife and I went into this restaurant and there was an elder and another younger man there.

  It was obvious they were talking about me and the young man would turn in his chair to stare at me.I had to go to the bathroom so I got up and walked close by their table and said to the elder "hi Rosco I hear you have been in the hospital. How are you doing? I also put my hand out and he out of nowhere shook hands with me, with this dumfounded look on his face. I then leaned my right hip against the young man and I thought he may feint and fall off his chair.

  Now when Rosco sees my wife and I, he loudly says hi Donna and ignores me. Then I, not too loudly but enough for others to hear say "hey its brother holier than thou".
