What happens if someone gets sick at an Assembly?

i keep meaning to ask one of the super dubs this question, but i'm afraid it will "stumble" them.

in the weeks before assembly we are given the list of do's and don'ts at ministry school.

one of the instructions is always something like "if you notice that a person has become ill (has an attack etc.

In the early 1970's I was asked to take over the first aid station at the local assemblies. I knew that they asked me because my now ex wife was an RN nurse.

Now get this. They wanted me to use our large station wagon as the ambulance. I said ok, then I find out that we could not even give an aspirin. We only had bandaids and only things that could be put on the skin and a few places to lie down.

We had several older folks with heart problems. So at the meeting that is for elders when the c.o. is there I asked if we "the circuit" could purchase a small Oxygen delivery system. At that time I think we would only spend around $50.00 for it.

You would of thought I wanted a Cadilac ambulance. One of the more arrogant elders YELLED out that is 2nd aid-- we only want 1st aid. Then the co joined in and yelled the same thing.

I called to their attention that the " worldly people supply this for their old folks at large gatherings like base ball etc. and we are not"?

This seemed to really piss them off as they had no suitable answer.

We were only about 4 blocks from a fire station and their ambulances and about 12 miles to the nearest Hospital.

This got me to thinking about the personal liability I and my ex wife were taking on and knew the wbts wouldn't cover our asses.

I tell the elders, much to their dislike that we were no longer accepting this position.

This and later 1975 and a few other things was the final straw .

What a bunch of ignorant idiots.

Is it wrong?? No the desire for love is a legitimate need in ones life. Love and acceptance are very crucial to living a healthy and happy life.

How do you get it? Usually it involves showing genuine love to the person from which you want love.

It is not generated by words alone, it requires acts of love and respect from us to the other and from them to us.

If we have a person in our lives that does not show us love and respect. We should seriously analyze if and why we want that person in our lives.

Some people seem to be unable to exercise true love for others.

Then if the struggle is worth it a psychologist might be a help.

If I read or hear CELEBRATED WT SCHOLARS one more time I am gonna puke.

I have read, listened to and lived through the results of these damned celebrated wt scholars.

The results for me were and are sadness, grief, anger and loss of family and friends.

They are filled with nonsense, lies, evil intentions and no love for their common man.

i know i'm not jwd's most popular participant but even i look at this place as a means of support sometimes.

i just wanted to say that this morning my father died of a heart attack while in field service.. i am on my way to new mexico with my daughter.

as some of you know i am df'd so you know how that goes when attending a jw funeral.

Although you are certainly not my favorite poster on this site, unlike the jw's I can also see your pain and loss. Knowing how things may be for you at this funeral it brings tears to my eyes.

Scholar you ought to put your little thesis here on some of the historians and archaeologists web sites.I am sure they will be impressed. Especially by the Holy Spirit and the CELEBRATED?? wt scholars.

By the way do these celebrated wt scholars have names??

One thing you might consider is the probability that your wife may be experiencing what is called cognative dissonance a form of mental confusion that occurs when one is told beliefs of certainty, that are in conflict with daily real life experiences.

Your wife since she was not raised as a jw is really gifted, in that whe has a former active personality that the wbts wants cancelled while they give you a new and different personality .

It may help if you can slowly engage her in some of these previous feel good activities that the original personality enjoyed.

I feel really good about your wifes expressions, since I can see her coming home to her legitimate original personality.

I was shunned today in the post office.

well this poor jw walked to the table to sort out the throw aways just as i headed there also.. i saw him and smiled, then he dropped his head to not look at me.

we both sorted out the things for the trash bin and were only about 20 or so inches apart.. i remember him coming to my house when my daughters were young girls and he wanted to get aquainted.. maybe i should have spoken to him but i just looked at him and he refused to even look back.. how sad.

he always has this really sad disappointed look on his face.

Wow i am gone a day "had to take the wife for chemo" and look at all the replies.

There was another incident that is rather strange. About two years ago I was in the shopping mall and ran across one of the local tv weather forcasters. He is a long time jw.

He and his wife who does not know me were in the mall and he was walking fastly to another shop when he saw me and recognized me. At first he smiled and then I could see the true recognition hit his OH SHIT warning system. He had smiled at an apostate.

I could see his confusion in his steps and trying to find his wife and still look like he knew what he was doing. I pointed this out to my wife and she began to laugh, which really messed up the jw. At this point his wife started to wonder about his actions and seemed equally confused.

I have never seen two people walk away from me so quickly. It is actually pathetic the way some jw's behave when surprised. Their normal human responses get all screwed up with the orders of the wbts and havoc takes over their brain.

i had a really weird dream last night.

in my dream, i was in an old house, spying on three men in a bathtub through a cracked door.

they were just bathing, but in my dream i was thinking they were gay.

I would think that now might be the time to do some fun things that take up the time usually spent at the kingdum hall.

Also a good time to express your love for her and your children and other family members with visits etc.

Let her get a breath of the fresh air away from the jw's

I am passed ever feeling shock or sadness, I am closer to laughing, which I have done when I was shunned by the more self righteous holier than thou in this town and there are a few.

But this guy's history and marriage etc just makes me feel sad and sorry for HIM.

One of the jw's an elder, will go out of his way to say HI Donna to my wife and ignore me.

For him I always laugh loudly and say "hey its brother holier than thou" loud enough for patrons sitting close to hear it an know what it means.

I even walked up to his table once and took his hand and shook it and asked how he is doing since his trip to the hospital.

Actually scared the crap out of the young guy sitting across the table.
