  HELP PLEASE---family emergency

  this is my first time ever participating in any discussion with ex -witnesses ever, and it's long overdue.

  i discovered the real truth about 6 years ago with the aid of websites like this (cannot contain my gratefulness), now i am stepping into your world and it feels right.

  my family runs four generations deep in witness muck,my great-grandmother was the oldest living pioneer in our region for what seemed like forever, three of my great-grandparents were "anointed",my grandfather hobnobbed with the governing body, etc.,etc.

  The use of reasoning with a person who has BELIEFS is difficult.

  There is an old saying that " it is almost if not completely impossible to "reason a person out of a situation that he was not reasoned into".

  Beliefs are installed into our brains through the use of our emotions and fears.

  Using simple situations like the membership of the wbts with the United Nations non governmental organizatons for about 10 yrs. May be more shocking and easier to understand and explain.

  Think about your fathers emotions and what things would really catch his attention that are rather simple to describe, prove and discuss the hypocrity of it all.

  At least these are the things that had the most influence with me. Best wishes and good LUCK with your plans. I hope all goes well with you.

  What an encouraging happy out come, from leaving the jw cult and living now in the real honest caring world.

  Quite contrary to what the jw's are led to believe and teach others.

  Your example if nothing more, is bound to confuse and maybe make some jw's rethink their way of life and how they treat others.

  It seems to me that you are walking on egg shells. There is bound to be some idiot elder thinking about what he might be able to do to you.

  I am really not sure what to think about your staying in and trying to help.

  If I were you I would be looking for the first good time to leave the rest of the jw's to their OWN lives and be concerned for my well being and family and let the rest handle it on their own.

  I wonder, do you feel such severe guilt from the past that you must redeem your self??

  If so it is not wise to sacrifice your self mentally, to help others that ought to be helping them selves.

  I do not think you are a hypocrite but I find your goals rather odd.

  Acts 15; 29 when it ends says only (AND YOU WILL DO WELL) do well in what way? Since fornication is also included it sounds to me like a suggestion to eat the proper food and avoid the threats of sexual diseases--and you will do well.

  Our modern medical system is still telling us the same thing.

  No where does it say OR ELSE we will shun you and destroy your family or God will kill you.

  Scholar, when it is all thought out and said, your efforts to defend the wbts and their use of 607 bc and its use in supporting certain prophecies are totally irrelevant and useless. Verging on silliness as are most if not all of their claims and predictions.

  Especially their claim to historic knowledge being above and beyond that of all the other historians.

  All one has to do to debunk this whole issue is to consider all the failed prophecies from the wbts.

  Some using 607bc as a base and others not based on 607bc.

  The prophecies regarding the years 1914 1918 1925 and 1975 for a few ,destroys any legitimacy in or from the wbts teachings and beliefs from their celebrated scholars.

  The change in the "millions now living will never die" prophecy makes me and anyone that hears it, laugh at their nonsense they are left to apologize for and never do.

  Celebrated scholars??? don't make me laugh.

  Your efforts are like the owner of a race horse that he describes all of its strength and beauty after the

  Well Frannie my wife solved this problem for me.

  She will only let me buy things like drills-hammers-shovels-saws-tillers-paint sprayers-welders-nails-screws-paint "for the sprayer"- riding lawn mowers-bird seed-wrenches-electric wiring-elec breakers etc.

  You know, things she knows I need to do the things she wants done around the place.

  So far I have not tested these things on my self. But I do wonder how that damned bird seed tastes

  ~Mormons Not Laughing About Polygamy Comedy~

  i find it hard to be sympathetic to polygamists who are offended by the hbo comedy.

  for me the idea of mormon polygamy so disturbing, that i cringed when the california zephyr (amtrak) crossed the colorado/utah border traveling into utah, i immediately got the creeps.

  it was just eery.

  This judge, if it is the same one in the local paper, lives and holds the place of judge in a small comunity in southern Utah on the border of Arizona.

  A well known old town where all are poligamists. Being on the border, if the Arizona authorities were to be seen coming the whole comunity would walk over into Utah and the same if Utah authorities were seen they would cross over into Arizona. To avoid them.

  This is a very old comunity and it looks like Utah Is finally cracking down on them.

  These poligamists are experts in using the systems in place to feed and clothe the poor and single mothers.

  Maybe that is the reason.

  When I first came across this site I was enthralled with all the scandals that could be certified and finally helped me to feel fully justified in trashing the wbts and the Gov. body.

  Even lately the news I read about the attorneys going after the pedophiles and the new one about wbts misrepresentation of medical advice and how this might be worthy of court cases.

  Little by little though, I find this site is not so exciting "for me" as it used to be. At one time I would spend most of a day looking at old posts and copying some of them.

  I still prowled around and read a lot but comment less and less.

  Add to this that I have a wife with terminal cancer now and I will be spending a lot of time taking care of her and going to the weekly chemo schedule. This is almost as dull as going to the kingdumb hall two or three times a week. This pretty much exhausts me and her of course.

  So you will probably see less and less of me. Unless something really fantastic comes to the surface.

  Maybe like Associated Press article= wbts sells out to the Catholic church, the highest bidder.

  in the weeks before assembly we are given the list of do's and don'ts at ministry school.

  one of the instructions is always something like "if you notice that a person has become ill (has an attack etc.

  Scully That sounds like a more reasonable and effective approach to giving medical help.

  Could it be that at different locations they are more sensible about medical help, or have things changed since the 1970's?
