There was a long article in the Portland Or. "Oregonian news paper" a few days ago.
It told of the killings and of this Finkle guy and took up about 1/2 of a page.
Nowhere did it speak to his being a JW.
I thought this was odd.
But as I think about it, Oregon is one of the most "politicaly correct" states in the union.
So I guess I ought not be surprised.

do you believe that for a relationship to be complete and meaningful these other hard to define abstract elements have to be operative in it?
For me, even the differences between a male and a female are attractive.
The feminine atributes, such as decorating a house, their caring motherly behaviour. Their outlook verses mine.
The ways they view life and love and sex sometimes differ from mine but they add a quality to our life that I would not have with out my wife.
Men and women are different and yet similar enough to create together a life and relationship that I would not want to live without.
Of course this requires a willing man and a willing woman.

hello all, i posted a while back about my cousin whom is in the hospital because he lost his leg in an accident at work.
he almost didn't make it becasue he refused blood.
i haven't been that close to him because he was not allowed to play with us (all his other cousins that weren't jw) when we were little~~ we are in our 30's now.
I suggest that you send him the very same message you would send to any other relative that is not a jw.
At this point do not bring up the blood issue unless he does so.
What he needs is what anyone of your family needs in this time of need and uncertanties.
Tell him/her how loved and admired he/she is and how all of you are praying for his/her survival.
Treat him/her no different than you would like to receive if it were you in this condition.

i really blew it yesterday.
we had just gotten home from a very long day and we were contemplating what to do for dinner and then a knock at the door.
the sister was back with an elder and he asked to speak to my husband...completely got his name wrong.

You seem to be unable or unwilling to acknowledge one obvious thing.
It has been a long long time since hubby has been to any meetings.
The elders have not made calls on this family for a long long time.
Now this elder goes as far as going around to the fence to call out for this hubby to talk to him.
After the two earlier elders visit, where they were told to go away and don't return.
It is obvious to hubby and wife and anyone with an ounce of common sense, THAT THIS ELDER IS UP TO NO GOOD.
He is looking to do the old "do you still believe Jehovah works through the gov, body thing".
Neither he, his message or his self claimed importance or authority or arrogance is acceptable to this family.
He fully deserves the disrespect he was given.
You afin, should be glad that he did not receive a much more physical reaction to his idiotic grandiose feelings of self importance.

onetime(in band camp) i was rushing to get to work and i was really late.
i got there and i forgot my hand bag in the car.

Your embarasing moment in the car reminds me of a funny incident. It didn't happen to me though.
I was a sheriffs deputy and we worked in pairs at that time. There was a small hill in the area where the teens would come to after a movie or such and a little necking would take place.
At curfew it was our job to send them home. Usually we would lite the car with a spot lite and they would fire up and leave.
This one car didn't. So we walked up to it, me on the passenger side and partner on drivers side.
These kids were really going after it. He taps the window with the flashlite and the kid rolls down the window.
Partner asks them what they were doing. Driver says we were only necking officer.
Partner says "well put your neck back in your pants and GO HOME".
I burst out laughing and to this day it makes me smile to think of it.

Scooby, for me I hate the religion and despise the wbts and its leaders.
There are those jw's that are so hateful towards me, that they deserve no respect or good feelings from me.
There are those that say to my children, "we miss your dad, he was one of the good elders".
Yet if they see me, they will act is if I no longer exist and/or I am too evil to speak to or smile at.
They also deserve no respect or good feelings from me.
For me they receive what they sow. Ignore me and you no longer exist.
Point at me and laugh or whisper and you get pointed out and laughed at and whispered about.
Smile at me and I smile back. Say hello to me and say hello to you.

When I was about 15 me and my nephew were playing with a bow and arrow.
For some idiotic reason he shot off an arrow about 50 ft and towards me. The damned thing hit me almost right in the ass. POINT B
Luckily the bow didn't have too much power.
