Has the Governing Body EVER apologized for anything?
by Wild_Thing ingeoffrey jackson testified to the arc that the governing body has apologized for things in the past, so an apology to sexual abuse victims is "perceivable".
what has the governing body ever apologized for?.
22 q. just on that point, mr jackson, has the governing body23 considered apologising to survivors of child sexual abuse24 at the hands of elders within the organisation?25 a. i haven't been in any discussions with regard to that.26 27 q. is that something that you foresee might happen ‐ in 28 other words, that an apology at least be considered?29 a. the governing body has apologised on other matters, so30 for me to say ‐ i can't speak collectively for everybody, 31 but we have apologised on things in the past, in other32 areas, so it is perceivable.. .

Has Watchtower taken the joy out of 'the good news of the kingdom'
by UnshackleTheChains ini ask this question for the following reason.
i was sitting at the kingdom hall thinking about all the rules, procedures, policies, teachings that each member must follow ......or else!.
at the watchtower study we are reminded of the paradise earth where we will all be the same and happy.

The only joy in the Preaching Work was social
Funny enough, the good lady asked me yesterday why I still attend meetings if I don't agree with 'anything' at the meetings.
I firstly corrected her in that there is much the Society teach is biblical, but there is much I simply disagree with.
I asked her if she really wanted the truth about why I still attend.
Answer- "For purely social reasons" so as not to make things awkward for her.

Being a JW wasn't much fun after that - at least nothing like it was in the late 1940s to early 1960s. There was no longer any joy in Watchtowerland. Many of my former acquaintances experienced major mental and physical problems that could be directly tied to the new policies that the Society embraced and enforced. Shunning, lots of shunning - unlike anything we'd seen before.
Wow.....it looks like the legalism and control gradually grew over time. I think once the control changed from the president to a body of men (the GB) in the 70's, the proverbial brown stuff really hit the fan in terms of control and micro management.

At the watchtower study we are reminded of the paradise earth where we will all be the same and happy. That should be the way I personally feel right now. But thinking of the above reduces that joy that I SHOULD have.

The Boyfriend Pillow! - The Governing Body's worst nightmare!!??
by stuckinarut2 inhttps://www.boyfriendpillow.com.au/.
with all the focus on the new anti-masturbation vide telling all bethelites not to sleep inappropriately with a pillow, surely this has to be the very item that will send the gb into fits of despair?
?.

I'd love to see the faces of the GB members as a Bethelite carries in his or her new pillow

I actually saw a variety of national dress at last year's convention. Some brothers wore kilts, some wore African national dress. They stood out really well. Variety is the spice of life.
The fact that the Borg tries to micro manage what people choose to wear is beyond a joke. The fact that ALL brothers have to wear suits (with loose pants of course); no beards; and women have to wear skirts/dresses below the knee. No dress trousers; etc etc is control gone mad.

Hey Zeb
you don't get better than the kilt. Very smart, particularly at weddings. I love the variety of tartans.
The send up was just to show how silly and ridiculous tight pants Tony is around dress and grooming.
Long live the kilt 👍
