It makes sense to me a GB member would grow a beard as an ex. of how a beard should be groomed by the rank and file and also to show support of the "new light".

the toll of being PIMO
by enoughisenough infor those of you who are pimo, how do you feel it may be effecting your mental and physical health?
is it easy to pretend to be what you are not?
how do you feel about falsely supporting the pimi which builds them up and therefore an org you don't believe in?

I am thinking the PIMO can't be themselves...they disown themselves to please others who would despise them if they let it slip what they really think. To some, it is worth doing that...but it would be interesting to know if/ how it effects their mental and physical health. I knew a "brother" who was gay. He was raised a JW. He was disfellowshipped for a while...but got reintated and "played games" with the brothers...He had a boyfriend "bible study" who came to meetings and sat with him. He would tell you there wasn't anything immoral going on ( and maybe there wasn't ) but the boyfriend did write him love letters and send him "gay" cards. I am bringing this up because, he was living a double life, which is what PIMO have to do. He was bi-polar and somewhat schizo. I have to wonder what part of his mental illness was caused from living a double life.

Essential Beliefs
by LeeMerk inif the watchtower really wants to move more mainstream they need to take a lesson from evangelicals in the united states.
they seem to say there are "essential beliefs".
a handful of core beliefs that are necessary to be considered true christians.

Well, now that is an idea...but...from where I sit the only real core belief is the GB is boss ( voice of Jesus ) and you have to obey any core belief they say, even if they change that same core belief in the blink of an eye. Obedience to them is their core belief. So if they were to honestly publsh a core belief it would be...OBEY the GB or else.

the 144,000 are "swingers"
by enoughisenough inif you go to the official jw website and look up wt 1957 5/1 pages274-275 you will see the jw teaching.
from paragraph 5:.." paul identifies jehovah's wife as his invisible universal organization.
the mother of christ and of his joint heirs.

Paul identifies Jehovah's wife as his invisible universal organization. the mother of Christ and of his joint heirs."...From paragraph 6: Jesus as principal child of the mother when the kingdom was born in 1914 . Then she, ( God's wife/invisible universal organization ) gave birth to children on earth in 1919... . " but since these Children of Zion have a heavenly destiny to reign with Christ, they also become part of the universal organization that is God's wife." ///my thoughts: The JW teach they are the earthly organization/mother and that you have to obey your mother ( them as represented by the governing body)-so yeah! People do believe this! But think about what is written in the WT article-they eventually become part of God's invisible universal organization making them God's wife as well! What a stretch! The 144000 thousand are spoken of as Christ's bride and What? The bride takes oh his Jesus Father...I guess they are "swingers".

For the short while I was PIMO, I felt guilty when around those all in. I felt guilty in supporting their efforts to unwittingly seduce others into the org. A group got together for a memorial of a friend who had died at a "sister's" home. The whole time I was there, I kept thinking: if they knew what I really thought, I wouldn't be welcome here and they wouldn't speak to me. It was not a comfortable feeling.

Did God know adam and eve would sin?
by gavindlt into all those on this forum, i would love to know what your take on this vital question is..

I don't think he knew anymore than most newly weds know whether or not their spouse willl cheat on them. Actually, some newly weds have a better chance at knowing if they are marrying someone with whom they cheated. I think he gave them free will and let the chips fall. If Satan had not turned and fooled EVE....Strange thought: who tempted the other first. We read that Satan tempted Eve. But wasn't satan tempted by wanting the worship of the humans?

Thoughts on annual meeting “new light”
by FFGhost inso, i finally saw the annual meeting video part 2.. this is the one with the “new light” on who might survive armageddon, vs. those who do not.. in summary, for those of you fortunate enough not to have to sit through it, it’s something like this:.
old light: once the “great tribulation” starts, that’s it for non-jws.
the “door of the ark” is closed.

dropoffyourkeylee..."tearing it down brick by brick" I have had the thought that is the intention, but to do it in such a way so as to keep people sending in the funds until the last, so they can build more on other's time to have to sell off when they get it dismantled to the point they want it. ( other than the movie studios which they will use to spread new world propaganda.)

How do you think that effected your mental and physical health?

My decision.
by MissDaSilva ini’ve decided to disassociate from the jw organisation.
i cannot be part of a community that blatantly rejects the sacrifice of jesus in that demonic memorial ritual.
amazing what information you find when you start researching.. i’m writing my letter and posting it to the kingdom hall this morning.

carla- you wrote they weren't your real friends and you weren't a real friend to them, but rather use them. I couldn't agree more. To stay in and pretend is lying to people you say you are friends with. How does one be a friend and yet support others who are preaching lies and trying to draw others into this God dishonoring organization? Some can play the game...I couldn't. I have no one...I made the decision...but I can look in the mirror and know I am not a hypocrit. I wonder what toll it is really taking on the Pimo. Question for another discussion....
