Can you also please state the publication reference next to the year? It would be good to read the reasons why they decided to change the viewpoint.

JW-RUSSIA.org cross image
by neat blue dog ini was just browsing the russian jw site and saw this image that appears to represent christian persecution by showing handcuffs in front of prison bars that appear to form a cross.
which would be weird because they don't even believe in the cross, or maybe it was clip art from another source and they didn't notice.
or last and most likely i'm seeing things that aren't there 😜.

If you have too much time on your hands, you can write an entire thesis on any image found on the internet.

How did they live with themselves?
by eyeuse2badub inhow do you think they lived with themselves?.
how do you think that the israelite soldiers that were ordered by king david to take uriah to the front lines and then retreat behind him so the enemy could slaughter him live after that event?
were they okay and at peace?.

It may not have stirred many consciences.
As per the Biblical account, Joab was given the instructions to position Uriah in the battlefield. Joab himself was an opportunist and an unscrupulous man, so his conscience may not have hurt.
Also, Uriah was not the only one who died. The story says that many other Israelites perished along with him. So for other rank and file, Uriah's death must have looked like an ordinary soldiers death and his positioning on the battlefield was likely considered as a war strategy.

Two Gods seen in the Bible
by Ireneus ina careful reader of the bible can see depiction of two gods in the bible—one that of a loving father figure, and the other an impulsive sort of who has been copied thoughtlessly from other cultures.. 1) god of love (as seen in genesis chapter 1) who creates humans (men and woman simultaneously) “in his image” (which means he gave the best he can to his children, the potential to become like him) as a crown of creation with a command to take care of all species, and goes into silence unconcerned of mankind’s response [gratitude or worship] to him, yet with a presupposition to “renew” in case humans deplete/destroy the resources (mathew 19:28; revelation 21:1-5).
thus god’s action defines him as “the servant of humanity.” (luke 22:26, 27) this is in contrast to the second god (as seen in genesis chapter 2 and 3 and throughout other books) who makes the planning for suffering and death for humans in co-operation with his adversary.. 2) god of impartiality (deut 10:17; mathew 5:44-48) who asks us to love/greet everyone.
this is in contrast to the second god who commands his worshippers not even to greet those who do not share their beliefs.

Rather than two God's for me it is the case of a person with supreme authorities having different shades of personalities.
Maybe like the judge of a Supreme court, who at his home loves his 20-year-old son very much. However, when the son commits a serious crime and is brought before the judge in the court (who is the father), his father hands over a severe sentence to him to satisfy the law. (The law transcends family relationships).

How do you know its a masonic ring?
I know you have asked us to see the August 2018 broadcast, but sorry I have a poor eyesight and can't make out anything from that ring from afar.
Can you post a close up of that ring with the symbols that prompted you to conclude that Steven Lett is a freemason?

Why go back to the Old Testament?
by Lost in the fog inwhy do jws insist on still quoting from the old testament to back up some of their wacky ideas?
such as on blood, beards, abortion, tattoos, etc.
surely if the mosaic law code was nailed to the torture stake all of its parts were cancelled.

fulltimestudent,
That's some wonderful research that you have done. In fact, I still remember from my school days about the rich history of medieval islam often called as the Islamic Golden Age. However, I still stop short of ascribing full credit of the body of medieval knowledge and development to Islam as many islamic scholars spent a great fortune in translating the scientific knowledge of the conquered civilisations to Arabic. In fact, when Arab conquered Persia in 637 AD, most of the Nestorian Christian's were spared and they later played a role in the Arab culture. In fact, the Wikipedia states that For a long period of time the personal physicians of the Abbasid Caliphs were often Assyrian Christians.[30][31] Among the most prominent Christian families to serve as physicians to the caliphs were the Bukhtishu dynasty.
What are your views on this? Do you feel that Islamic knowledge can be called as the assimilation of previously known knowledge? Was Medieval Islam a concoction of conquered civilisations?

Sex and Love, Advice? Regrets and Stories?
by Letty indo you guys have any advice on dating worldly people?
how do i not freak out during my first date with my boyfriend?
how can i avoid being awkward?

Do you guys have any advice on dating worldly people?
If you are a JW and want to date a wordly guy, then sooner or later you will come to a crossroad where you will either have to select your boyfriend or your faith.
How do I not freak out during my first date with my boyfriend? How can I avoid being awkward?
Why avoid? You are not in a board meeting or an interview. These funny moments adds to the fun and may become cherished memories in the years to come (if you both decide to marry).
During my first date with my now-wife, I slipped and fell down while entering star-bucks, while my wife spilled coffee all over her dress. I had also planned an elaborate set-up for proposing to her, but a local protest that day spoiled it. I had to propose to her sitting in a bus-stand. We still cherish these moments, and every year during our anniversary, we go to the same bus-stand, take our vows and go to that star-bucks outlet to have a snack.
And what should I know about sex and physical contact?
Sex before marriage comes with consequences if you are raised in a religious household or a closed culture. If you are ready to accept the consequences, only then go ahead.
I’m like genuinely lost I don’t know how to act like a normal person when it comes to dating and relationships.
Don't "act". Be what you are. That will save you a lot of problems later on.
Are there things you guys regret or would have done different?
Yes, I should have married my girl earlier.

Sex before marriage
by Jules Saturn infor ex jws, pimos, pomos, faders, born again christians, agnostics, atheists, etc.
what is your opinion regarding sex before marriage, has your view been influenced since you left?
in western society, you’ll probably find yourself ridiculed to be an 18 year old virgin so i am curious to hear opinions from here.

Pre-marital sex comes with consequences. If you are ready to accept them, then you are fine to have it.
If a person feels that pregnancy after sex is an 'unwanted pregnancy', then it means that unprotected sex itself was unwanted for that person.

We may all speak about the suppression of women in the org, but the following aspects of the JW world is really ironical:
1. In the Unbelieving mates category, it is mostly the women who get attracted towards the Org first and then years later drag their husbands to it. You will find many unbelieving husbands than unbelieving wives..
2. Many women in the org are more than happy to be an elders wife than be on the stage giving a talk.
3. A major portion of the frontline pioneers in JW world are women.
4. In matters of shunning, usually its the mother who is the most crucial enforcer of it.
