The Governing Body Doing The Math As Corporate CEOs

he made light of his role and the rest of management's predicament by saying on a public broadcast: "in doing the math we found that the amount of money flowing out will be much greater than the amount of money coming in at this time".

clearly the guys on the gb have very little business sense to let things get so out of hand with tons of projects in the works and having to close all of them except for warwick, and one in england.. i have to wonder just what type of math these dead heads on the gb even know or consider when making all their plans for the future of the corporation they have leadership over.

My big curiosity is this : I wonder how much of that 2 billion $$$$ is being deposited by the WT Society in off shore bank accounts where it can be hidden in the Cayman Islands or some other secret location ? It's a question I feel that begs an answer. If only I was a fly on the wall. Perhaps something to research - if anything can be discovered.

I wonder too. Did Ray Franz ever write anything on financial fraud within the WT? He was the member of the GB and a regular attendee of the Annual Meeting and had access to financial situation too.

Doesn't any ex-bethelite over here know if funds are swindled away?

2 witness rule

i'm gobsmacked.. the 7 rock star popes in warwick know darned well that the 2 witness rule allows child rapists to get away with their crime.. geoff (whacko jacko) jackson was at the australian royal commission and should have seen first hand what a vile man made law the 2 witness rule is.. my question is, why do they still insist on this pervert protecting rule?.

i know it's a highly controlling cult but still...........................stuff my old boots, mate!.

the above is more a rhetorical question.

Here in India, many publishers beg the elders not to take the case to the police due to the crazy legal system and the social ostracism which is more horrendous than the disfellowshipping arrangement.

When the legal system of the country itself is running at a snail's pace, many victims try to find support and solace in their religious community and hence I would not blame the families who go to the elders rather than the police.

Sadly, there are rising amount of cases here where people are falsely accused of child sexual abuse and the police can pretty much torture an individual to confess a crime that he did not do. You can be pretty much be beaten into a pulp even on a slight hint of accusation. Mob justice takes precedence over everything. And I can only imagine how an elder can get torn down into this mess when he gets to know about a child abuse case.

we all are hearing of the trend right now to ¨downsize¨ the congregations...ie... eliminate by combining, in order to blah blah blah... .

here is what you didnt know: every time a congregation is dissolved, for whatever reason, including merging or dispersing, wt makes money!

Local JW's are fine with wherever their money goes. Either to the Congregation or the WT, it is somehow used for furthering "Kingdom Interests".

Once the money gets dropped in the contribution box, publishers don't have a say over it.

However, it would be a completely different case, if it can be proved that leaders of the WT are swindling money to their own personal accounts. Does any ex-bethelite have any proof that this happens? Did Ray Franz tell anything about financial fraud within the WT?

I know what you are trying to say. I was simply emphasizing the fact that socially acceptable application of the universal truth is more important than its possession.

Babies as small as six months old can discern the difference between a good nurse and bad one. Same applies to animals too, wherein, a dog knows whom to bite, whom to bark and before whom to wag its tail.

This ability can be called as discernment or an unlearned ability wherein, conscious beings learn good and bad due to an inbuilt instinct to survive. Individually, each person has a choice to do good or bad, however, socially, the law of the land decides what is good and acceptable, and what is bad and not acceptable, and hence there is a set of laws that decides what is good and bad, and this usually trumps individuals choice.

Whether we need God's guidance is left to an individual's choice. But socially, each person is bound by the secular law which validates what is good and what is bad.

i'm following an old friend on instagram who's an uber elder and he does lots of work on kh's and has gone to warwick on his own dime to help with the construction.

on his instagram post he says " i can't post pictures of the kh remodel but i can post pics of jack daniels that i had afterwards" or some such.

why aren't they allowed to take pics of remodels?

JW leadership hypocrisy 1975

it is felt that there is one law for the rich and another for the little people who are made to toe the line.

money equals power and it is a sad historical fact of humanity that where there is power there is abuse.. andersoninfo a few days ago produced the facts here that in 1975 the watchtower had spent nearly 2 million dollars to buy the neo baroque building in new york known as the towers.

when they sold it recently for 200 million dollars they made a profit of more than 10,000%.

That's were a distinction needs to be made between the individual leaders and the WT org as an entity.

For a honest JW, all individuals, including the leaders in the WT working in Bethel were spiritual people who left everything behind to work in Bethel. What would have been more appropriate than to be found working in the house of God while the end was coming? Since you spoke about JW leaders looking for profits, I asked - Do you have any information that the individual leaders and their families during the 1975 era made personal wealth and gains while individual JW's outside Bethel were selling their belongings?

Regarding the investments made in 1975, honest JW's thought that Jehovah was directing the organization, and all decisions, including property investments were made by the organization for furthering Kingdom interests. JW's back then, and even now believe that they would be continuing their education work in paradise and possibly Jehovah will use some of their existing properties in the new world.

And that's the main reason there was no mass exodus in 1975, like the one in 1914 and afterwards. May be people joining the JW's are mentally prepared for such doomsday debacles, since 1975 was not their first prediction.

If there was a resurrection in paradise

something that bothered me even when i was a watchtower company drone was the thought of dying and being resurrected in paradise.

would the resurrected person really be me or just a copy of me?

Do you really accept the JW teaching of the earthly resurrection but yet reject the idea of an immortal soul? You can't have one without the other.

Well, To begin with, JW teaching doesn't allow for a soul in the human body. Adam was not infused with a soul, but just with a breath of life. Since soul was not necessary for creating man, it won't be necessary to re-create or resurrect that man. All what is needed is the recreation of the human body, the restarting of human life and the restoration of consciousness and memory, all which is possible for the creator, who is not bound by the human limitation of the understanding of science.

Call it a copy, clone or whatever. Those who were fine with this idea got baptized into the JW religion. That's it.
