Mark of a true Christian
by Lost in the fog inas most of us on this site have experienced firsthand when we were in, there is a lack of love in the majority of congregations.. i was talking to a pimi person recently who said that love was the identifying mark of true christians (in their opinion the jw organisation) and that is why the watchtowers they study continually tell them to show love to one another.. i said that if their love was genuinely practiced they wouldn't need to be told to show it because it would arise from their heart and soul and be evident in believers which is what jesus was actually saying.
recognising the needs of the community with rising food prices some local churches where i live were moved to start food banks and offer free meals to families on the breadline.
to me that is spontaneously shown and is genuine love in action.. needless to say the pimi disagreed with me.

Remembering back
by Hellothere inanything you remember that went in org that you feel embarrassed now?
i remember back in the 80s how seems like every magazine was about bashing other group's.
how holy and faithful watchtower was compared to catholic church.

Being part of a group that doesn't value education, knowledge, that tells you what to think, what to read and teaches doctrines you can sense are lies... And they say they are special and want people to go door-to-door spreading their lies and hurting people... I couldn't bear it. And, since I'm a teacher in this small community, this was really very embarrassing to me.

My personal thoughts on Ray Franz
by Terry inthe death of ray franz hit me harder than i would have thought.. i had to reflect for awhile....alone......and quietly.. .
after all, fine people die every day and some of them are indispensable, yet, we go on....don't we?.
but, ray franz was something that can only be described in the phrase sui generis (one of a kind).. my task was to ask myself what it was that made ray so singular, potent and admirable without a trace of scandal or ill will attached to his memory.. .

No beards...even Jesus! Strange Watchower rule for brothers!
by Witness 007 inwatchtower 1954 p.511 "why do watchtower publications now show jesus with short hair and no beard?
because he is shown that way in older representations of him that are older then the traditional effeminate looking pictures.".
watchtower 1968 p.286 "bible evidence and a recent review shows that jesus did have a beard..." charles russell style of beard was popular at bethel...till rutherford took over.

Even though I don't like to wear a beard, I've always thought that this rule is absolutely silly! Beard grows. Good made men with beard. It's another example of humans wanting to play God!

Prediction of how Watchtower going to be in 5 Years.
by Foolednomore ini can see it that watchtower will become an online/tv based group with just con-vention hall$.. field service would be letter writing and phone preaching, door to door is done.. watchtower will have pay to view programs and still ask for donations after all that.. zoom meetings are here to stay.
kingdumb halls will be sold off except for con-vention venues, or need for new ones$.. df'ing will continue.
the craziness will continue.

Missionaries in Mali.
by Lost in the fog ini don't think the gb at wt will pay for their release like the pope did for the nun.
they better say their goodbyes.. https://www.sandiegouniontribune.com/news/nation-world/story/2022-05-20/3-italians-1-togolese-abducted-in-southern-mali-says-mayor .

You would have to be a nut case to be a missionary in a muslim country and I can't see the WT giving many hints and tips about keeping your head securely fitted other than to pray. I feel sorry for those lulled into a false sense of security and sent on very dangerous mission.
Totally agreed!

I don't think the lives of these people are a joke
For many they aren't because they really face very dangerous situations. By I wasn't referring to their lives, I was referring to the way they live. And, yes, it's totally irresponsible the way WT sends them to some countries... This is only one example among many.

Funny how simplified lifestyle requires a servant.
People work, slave and donate for WT so that they can live happy and calm lives...
