Message to those in Bethel service desk lurking on here.
The reinstatement process needs to be made easier.
Its too long and too difficult and the elders have too much power.
An easy solution to stem the bleeding and have a little blood transfusion (excuse the illustration) is to have it easy for someone to return. All they need to say is that they are sorry and that is enough, don’t have elder’s decided if they are really sorry or not.
This same new light should apply before someone is announced as disfellowshiped, if they say they are sorry that is enough. Don’t give power to elders to decide if they are genuine or not.
I remember stories of Elders where power went to their head and asked different ones to jump through hoops to show they were really sorry. Giving up jobs, moving to other areas or travelling far to old congregations for several months sitting at the back not being allowed to talk to anyone. This was a power trip for the elders. This madness needs to stop.
One sister I know was so finding it hard being shunned by family and friends she said I will do whatever it takes to be reinstated. She had to travel a long way after work to this other congregation where she was dissed. Even then it took about a year of sitting at the back not talking to anyone and feeling shame and made to feel dirty and unvalued.
No wonder there is such a high case of suicide. No wonder the recent changes in the Elders book not to diss someone if they may be suicidal.
Next change should be so simple, if they say they are sorry that is enough. Either before or after dissed. This should stem the bleeding and put a bit of blood back in.

Doesn’t he realise he has to keep the channel going as it’s his only income? He lives in a country that he never bothered to learn the language after a decade and a half, he is not going to be able to get a job there. Why is not putting any effort into his channel apart from half hearted seldom videos

There have been a few times in the past where a special effort has been made to get people to return to Jehovah. Elders have been asked to contact all who have left.
We know the branch read all these sites so yes this could put the idea to the GB, especially now with the two new more lenient members.
Have some new light on those who have left, just like the prodigal son. I can imagine one of them coming out with “In times last we have not talked to these ones, is that really the right thing to do?” “We can’t be dogmatic we just don’t know”
what these ones need is love, and understanding and show them how pleased Jehovah will be if they return to him just like the prodigal son.
No zombie I love this, I hope this suggestion Gets to the new GB
WatchTower study articular discussing Disfellowshipping, introducing a comment like ... "should a disfellowshiped person be separated from the truth for some years, it is likely they have suffered immensely being in the world and are already in a repentfull condition. Like the prodigal son, should not an extraordinary measure of forgiveness by congregational Elders be shown, when they consider the nearness of the Great Tribulation" ... or words that effect.
Imagine all the parents of disfellowshiped children that night, they'd be hot on the phone to their wayward kids.
Tie this all to confidential letter the body of Elders ... boom ... an easy in.

Hotels for convention
by ElderBerry ina department in bethel wants to try to make money from regional conventions by asking local hotels if they will give a special rate and a coupon code to give to jws.. .
they should just keep it simple and not be greedy for dishonest gain.. .
this year some convention sites the hotels said no thank you i think the jws are going to book with us anyway.

Talking to a few about their plans for 2024 regional convention, the hotels that Bethel will earn commission are further away and more expensive than the close nicer hotels to the venue. The close hotels said no to Bethel as they feel witnesses will book them anyway as they are walking distance to the venue.
The hotels Bethel will earn money from are so far away you would have to get a taxi or pay for parking which is very expensive I wouldn’t be surprised if Bethel are trying to make a profit on that as well.
We had a very strong letter read out to all congregations saying please don’t book the hotels that refuse to pay Bethel as it will weaken their negotiating power in the future, Duh! Yeah Bethel why not stay out of it and stop being greedy. If someone wants to make their own plans then stay out of it.
I swear some brothers in Bethel have nothing to do and want to make things up to justify their staying in Bethel.

How far do we get away from 1914
by PimoElder inhow far do we get away from 1914 before they have a new light and admit it was all wrong?.
they cling to the old theory of the 77 week prophecy from the wrong date that jerusalem was destroyed .
with the overlapping generations nonsense still we are getting too far away from 1914. what will they say if we get to the 2030s and they still cling to 1914?.
-
ElderBerry
These two new GB members must be saying we have to admit we were wrong about 1914.
But then the older ones say we risk everything falling apart if we admit that.
Then they say that is inevitable if we don’t admit we were wrong!
But then they have so many problems about when Jesus became king as they claimed happened in 1914? Is that still to come then, or did it happen on a different date?
how can they possibly spin this one? It’s a lose lose situation whatever new light they come up with!

A department in Bethel wants to try to make money from regional conventions by asking local hotels if they will give a special rate and a coupon code to give to JWs.
They should just keep it simple and not be greedy for dishonest gain. This year some convention sites the hotels said no thank you I think the JWs are going to book with us anyway. They said no to Bethel. So Bethel went to other hotels further away and made agreements with them to earn money from all the JWs going to be staying there. Then they wrote a letter to all congregations saying not to stay in those hotels that said no but stay in these other hotels further away that made an agreement with Bethel. The letters read please don’t stay in those hotels who said no to Bethel as it will make it harder in the future for Bethel to negotiate. What has actually happened now is rank and file totally ignore the letter and those hotels that said no to Behtel are fully booked with rebellious JWs. -

the toll of being PIMO
by enoughisenough infor those of you who are pimo, how do you feel it may be effecting your mental and physical health?
is it easy to pretend to be what you are not?
how do you feel about falsely supporting the pimi which builds them up and therefore an org you don't believe in?
-
ElderBerry
I think most people these days who go to church or another place of worship are not true believers they are the equivalent of PIMO JW. I know this is true of most Jews and Muslims too. Probably Buddhist and definitely all other sects have PIMOs or PIMQ.
It’s not that much of a toll. All through history you had groups get together in the name of religion or something similar and many just go with the flow for the sense of community and companionship. That’s why I’m still physically in but mentally out.
I suspect there are a high percentage of those physically in that have doubts but go with the flow. Even if not all of them view themselves as PIMO they may just think well I don’t know I hope what we believe as JWs is correct but we’re probably not correct about everything

Thoughts on annual meeting “new light”
by FFGhost inso, i finally saw the annual meeting video part 2.. this is the one with the “new light” on who might survive armageddon, vs. those who do not.. in summary, for those of you fortunate enough not to have to sit through it, it’s something like this:.
old light: once the “great tribulation” starts, that’s it for non-jws.
the “door of the ark” is closed.
