You both have to know that the love bombing will end as soon as she becomes regular, don't you?

I have just one question I didn't see addressed here: WHY COULDN'T THEY SAY WHAT THEY WANTED IF THEY WERE BEING RECORDED? I believe that is what you said one of the elders stated from the beginning when asking you if you had a recording device? They claim to be guided by Holy Spirit, yet they can't be recorded? No, wait, they're guided until they do something totally unscriptural, then all of a sudden they are imperfect men! You are better off without these fools! Go and have a happy life that you deserve. I know it's hard when you've been wronged, but you are giving them too much of your energy, and making them feel important.
Much happiness to you!

feeling like a true apostate today
by truthwillsetyoufree init was back in 2011 when i was convinced that jws dont have the truth.
i rejected so many teachings and was open about that to members of my family.
it took me another year to pluck up the courage to attend other churches.

It's a good thing you saw them talking to the elderly woman, and that her family came by in time for you to alert them about what had happened so they could act on it. If it happens again, could you have the number of the kh to give to whomever so they could call and tell the jw's to place their address on the dnc list?
I think most people don't even look at the tracts, just put them in the trash, but you never know who you might have saved!

I now have a law degree!
by digderidoo inhi guys, i don't really post on here much anymore, having been on here since 2001. this site helped me out in the early days and has been a great support system for all of my past jw issues.
like many others i was discouraged from an education so that i could window clean and pioneer in my youth during the 80's.
having spent many years post my jw exit in alcoholism and periods of drugs, i decided to clean myself up 7 years ago by attending aa, i was still a window cleaner ... at the time i wrote extensively on here about my issues.

Do Witnesses still go door-to-door??
by MsShockJock injust wondering if they still go door-to-door?
i never see groups of people walking around the neighborhoods all dressed up or out in fastfood restaurants on saturday mornings or groups of people driving around in cars.

I know they do by posts from those on here that still have to go out. And a huge car group hit my neighborhood right before the Memorial. But I hadn't seen anyone in my neighborhood in a couple years before that. I don't think they are quite as active or enthusiastic as some once were.

Try using some of the knowledge from your studies in counselling. Happy to hear it has made you a stronger person!
When she starts the emotional trip, drop some nuggets of truth. If she becomes too emotional, tell her you simply cannot have a conversation with someone who is so emotional and unwilling to listen to an opposing point of view, but that you would be happy to have a conversation when she is calm and rational. You DO NOT have to have a conversation with anyone who you believe is trying to commit emotional blackmail on you, whether that is their intent or not.

A woman who was a study received a call from her family at the Sunday meeting that her brother, who was in the hospital, very ill, has passed. She went to the restroom to cry, and the ignorant woman who had studied with me was disgusted. She said " they could have waited until AFTER the meeting was over to tell her"! She was such a stupid woman.

Not on jw.org - comments regarding bad Jehovah's Witness employees
by jwfacts ini used to be very impressed with convention experiences regarding how worldly employers would hire jws because they were known as the most honest workers.
i was too indoctrinated to realise these were selective experiences, and there are plenty of experiences of jws being dishonest in the workforce.
i have received a couple recently by email.. i have cut quite a bit out of the following email i received so that the person and company cannot be indentified, but you will get the message.. .

There was an older brother that owned some type of delivery company along with his, I believe, non-jw brother. Their kids worked for them, and a number of men from the local congregations. I guess the jw men & their wives all assumed they would get assembly/convention days off w/o asking. I was speaking to one of the wives and she was pretty upset that her hubby had to work on an assembly day, as bro x KNEW they had the assembly and didn't just schedule the brothers off! Never thinking ahead to the fact that 1. he probably wasn't the one doing the scheduling and 2. others had probably REQUESTED that day off! There must have been a lot of bone heads complaining about it because there was a small comment made from the podium at that assembly that if you worked for a witness, you needed to be responsible for requesting theses days off, not just assume you were getting them.
There was the elders son who was a nice enough guy, but when he did some remodeling work for a single sister(she had some money as she made good money), he goofed up. He made a bar the wrong dimensions, and when she called him on it, he told her if she wanted it corrected, she would have to pay for it, that he wasn't going to eat it! She had family in, so she wasn't all alone, but did this fool think anyone else was going to hire him? His work was nice, but it was still not they had contracted for! She just accepted the wrong work to avoid confrontation.
I know of other stories of foolish jw workers, but I also know of some who give their best to their employers when they are at their jobs. Probably reflects the general population, but that is not what they say from the podium!

Got rid of everything a few years ago. Some witnesses came to our door a few years back, and my husband gave them a box of wt books I had in the garage waiting for garbage day! It seemed like they didn't really want them , but graciously accepted them.
