My kids know I am disfellowshipped, they were there when it happened. They don't go anymore and I couldn't be happier.

Can You See How Idiotic The JW Religion Now Is?
by minimus ini was telling my gf about my mom's removal as a regular pioneer when she was about 80 years old because she went to my daughter's wedding (and she married a non-jw).. my girlfriend couldn't grasp the severity of my mother's sin and as i explained the witnesses' position, it all sounded so absurd!.
have you experienced anything similar?.

When people can't decide for themselves what to do in a certain situation but have to consult publications or write "the Society" then it is very ridiculous. Can you imagine asking if you can eat Turkey on the 4th Thursday in November?

Disfellowshipping, Association, and Marriage question.
by baltar447 inok, so i've heard it said before that disfellowshipped people can't associate with other disfellowshipped persons.
is this in print anywhere or in the elder manual?.
also, are there "rules" about disfellowshipped persons marrying?

I am not aware of any restrictions on disfellowshipped people on who they can talk to and what they do. They are no longer members of the congregation and they can do what they like. I would cherish the opportunity to go hug a person right after the disfellowshipping announcement but they are rarely there when it is announced.

No more 3-day DCs starting in 2013?
by respectful_observer inapologies if there is another recent thread on this, but i have heard from 4 different people in 3 different geographic areas (including someone who does advance work for the dcs), that beginning in 2013 the three day dc program will be replaced by a second two-day circuit assembly.
some people were passing the info along like a secret, others seemed to think that everyone already knew.. if everyone in j-dub land is already talking about this, how is it not all over this forum??.
anyway, can anyone confirm or deny?.

I was thinking about this and the special "district conventions" they had this year and maybe the policy will be to have several of those for the select congregations and the rest will have something for 2 days only. That way they can strategically place the conventions and not have to worry about having so many.

What association does The Society permit her single members?
by compound complex ingood morning, fellow posters:.
ironic opening question, eh?.
certainly i could answer this question myself from the publications and personal experience; however, i am interested in your perspective, background, experience (whatever you're willing to share).

The only officially sacationed association is at the meetings and field service. What you do outside of that is up to you so my advice for them is do what they want on their own time but be careful not to let it get back to those who are busybodies in other people's matters.
