Does God really have a Name?

i find the name "jehovah" repugnant.

if i ever hear that name again i will surely throw up!

as if "jehovah" is god's real name anyway.

Thats pretty much exactly what I learned regarding his name but with a little different twist.
The reason God's name was omitted from text and replaced with 'clues'
was because they believed that No one was anylonger "Worthy" of not only "speaking" God's name out loud but they were not even worthy of 'Looking' upon his name when written. It wasn't just fear of miss use of his name but a complete fear of even speaking his name at all. When they went through this process of removing Gods name it was done in almost a ritualistic manor. I think they had to also be completely covered (except eyes) when doing this. They basiclly suppersticious.

i recently found out something that sounded fishy to me after talking to a friend of mine.

she is another active jehovah witness.. we were talking about the jw donation system.. i told her that they were basically selling magazines but to avoid legal consequences i.e.

Hey Jerome, On thay your guess is as good as mine. I haven't been following what the Gb has been doing with regards to the UN thing. That would probably be a better and maybe safer thing to research.
You would probably find alot more interesting stuff to focus on anyway. Better then touching the terroist approach.

Ok Jerome I can see where one might get so
eager to topple an empire out of nothing
more then, say passion or the love of
another,starting to sound like a
'Harlequin romance" But IMO as far as 911
goes,attacking anyone for any reason other
then contributing to the tradigity is like
playing with a loaded gun. I don't see how
focusing on this particular 'event' to try
to prove right or wrong intentions on the
part of the GB can accomplish anything other
then putting the accusers in the same
category as any other 'hate mongers'
Can't you see that all you could get out
of this approach is possibly being labeled
some kind of a fanatic. The entire world
does not hang out on this board. Any help,
aid, or support from anyone would be
unconditionally accepted and was and still
continues to be. Attacking someone or even
just pointing a finger at them in an attempt
to rub their nose in this act of charity
towards these victims could very well back
fire in a very negative way for you and
anyone else involved. If your main concern
is exposing the GB and seeking some kind
of justice for wrong doings go after
something real. This attack on people
helping at ground zero IMO is a very bad
idea. It would be nothing more then a war
between apostates and tates.

As far as how much I post. I never keep track. When I went to the stats and looked, I was shocked myself. But in the very short time you've been here you certainly do keep track. You think i'm busy trying to post more then anyone else? Whatever.. sorry to bore everyone. I'm not on vacation any longer so no body will have to deal with having to skip over my reply's. I guess I should thank you for bringing this to my attention as every one else has been to polite to. Maybe I should have spent more time in the chat room. Oh but then I guess it would be empty all the time if I did.

I believe Cowboy's post was more directed at cellomould's
post than yours. The comment cowboy was making about
being "free to leave" is directed towards the U.S.
posters that are unhappy in this country. Being free to
leave is a right we have in this country. I think
sometimes you get so caught up in trying to be the most
active poster all the time, your posts get skipped over
by alot of readers here because its obvious your posting
before you know the entire story. You haven't been here
very long, so maybe for once you should shut-up and
try to learn something. When I see your posts, all I see
is blah!blah!blah!

Well Jerome thats an interesting idea however I don't think anyone group of people I that calculating. You seem to be forgeting one very important major fact about the 911 tragity and thats how incredibly shocking and horrifying it was and still is. I haven't forgot how it made me feel and I wasn't as close to it as those in NY were. I have a neighbor who died on the first plane that flew into the first tower and walking outside everyday and seeing the memorial that was growing on the sidewalk near his house was enough to make me numb. One memorial near me and knowing one person who will never come home and living 3000 miles away from ground zero seeing vivid and graphic pictures constantly on T.V and the Net and every news paper and every conversation was about 911 left me and everyone I know feeling sick. If that is, and no doubt it is, a fraction of what those close to the crash site's were feeling I can't even imagin thinking or suspecting anyone of seezing that as an opertunity for good public relations exposure And WHILE PEOPLE ARE STILL SMOLDERING??? What I find even more incredible is you coming up with the idea as if you are someone who has been directly victimized by the WTBTS and you trying to rally together everyone who can relate to your expierences with them? And what expierences were they again?? Whatever. I'm not as gullible as I was when I was idealistic. Not even.

i remember the andy griffith show (featuring the affable deputy fife) from the earliest times of my life.

it will be popular when my daughter is old and gray, no doubt.

but now... i'm beginning to wonder about me.... i find myself watching i love lucy whenever it's on, and i once hated... i say hated, the show.

Yep...Yep yep yep.
I was a kid when all those shows were on, hated them. I to watch I Love Lucy in the mornings on PBS. This morning was the episode where they were all on a train and Lucy thought the man in the next car was a jewel theif. I use to get so mad at how stupid I thought that show was and now I laugh at it and enjoy it. Once in a while i'll catch an old Steve Allen show. Those are great.

Yah, Micheal Jackson was a cute kid. I use to think he had an obsession with Diana Ross's looks. Seems like he looks as much like her as possible. They were close way back when. Before Liz came into the pitcure. Gossip gossip gossip....
