The ‘bible studies’ are not really bible studies but WT questions and answers. If you notice how the studies are designed you’ll see they are set up in a way that there can only be one or two correct answers to the questions. They ask the questions for you and you find the answers in each paragraph they supply. There really isn’t any ‘discussion’ about the bible. It is extremely programmed with very little room for free though. You are better off researching on your own IMHO if you want to learn about what the bible teaches.

No, really, it means THIS generation will by no means pass away...
by BabaYaga inwith this seemingly endless 1914 "this generation" brouhaha, i wondered what the age was of the current oldest living human.
no surprise, the answer was found on the guiness site: .
http://www.guinnessworldrecords.com/content_pages/record.asp?recordid=48371 .

My mom hasn’t been able to go out in field service for a few years now and only attends meetings on occasion but she makes sure she spreads the good news no matter what. She mails letters to her neighbors regularly. I use to mail them for her a couple times a week. She wouldn't put her return address on the envelopes though and I would tell her she was supposed to put a return address on everything or they may not get sent out. She didn't care...just mail'm. lol.

three wise men
by Ade ina while back i posted on a story found in the watchtowers childrens bible concerning the three wise men going to visit jesus, in the childrens bible the word is rendered "worship" him, as most are aware in the nwt the words are rendered "do obeisance".this post doesnt directly cover that, i wanted to find out whether these so called wise men were sent by god or not.
the reason for this is that someone pointed out that this was because the three wise men were (by jw's accounts) sent by satan.i decided to search through the scriptures to decide for myself whether there was an adequate reason for them to make such a statement.
if this has been covered before many apologies.

It does seem to be a catch 22 with the society and their views on magic etc. Just the same with war and any involvement with government.
It doesnt seem theoretically correct to presume the wise men were sent by Satan, when they were given "Divine" warning by God not to go back to Herod.
I may have understood the reasoning wrong but as I understood this, God caused the magi to get lost. In a nutshell.
The magi were doing as ordered and weren’t being sneaky about it as King Herod was. -

MOve on!???
by Core88 inok so i am a ex-witness,(disfellowshiped) i have posted here before...but i must say why have'nt we moved on?
come on i mean if we all really thought that the jw sect was just that then why are we not trying to forget it and let life go on as it has; and try to be true to ourselves and our neighbor and read jesus words as recorded in the bible?
i have been reading my bible on lunch breaks at my work, as well as reading in the dhammapada.
