Jehovah, Jehovah, Jehovah
by Sour Grapes inmy pimi wife listens to a lot of the meetings on the phone with the speaker on.
when i am watching tv i hear the meetings in the background.
i just cringe with how a witless can't give a comment without having said jehovah at least two times.

There were a few brothers in my hall who literally used Jehovah every 6th or 7th word.
I was wondering if these brothers thought god had short term memory loss, and they were afraid that he wouldn't know they were talking to him?
It was farcical.
OMG SIR82!!!! That is EXACTLY the prayers they would give. Were you in my hall?

QUESTION BAG
by Vanderhoven7 inthere are questions that come up from time to time that i need an answer to or a quotation from the watchtower literature to support....but not necessarily worthy of devoting an entire new thread to.
if anyone has a questions that they would like answered, why not post it on this thread and see if our collective can be of assistance in answering it.. here is mine for today: .
would a person who has a blood transfusion automatically be disassociating himself from the jehovah's witnesses?

How about a timeline with WT letters & Videos for the whole LDC / McHalls / no RBC / No Mortgage / Everyone paying like a mortgage - cuz we need a million KHs now. And now we are selling halls.
I would like to mention this two a few people I may be able to influence. You know those with JW Amnesia.

When you missed several consecutive meetings or took a vacation did you feel "weird" when you returned?
by Tenacious inevery now and again i would miss meetings due to health, surgeries, work etc.. when i would miss a meeting here and there i didn't particularly feel this "weirdness.".
it wasn't until i would miss 3 or more consecutive meetings that i felt this weirdness upon entering the kh.. i can't really explain it but it feels like i was entering the kh for the first time.
it's not like when you take a 2 week vacation and come back to work.

Sometimes YES.
Because you would of course be questioned at some level as to where you were and why you missed meetings.

Satan Hurled Out in 1914 - Will They Say It Was Never Taught?
by Anna Marina inwbts rewrites/carefully edits their own history.
since 2005, i have been through a lot with with wbts.
recently i came across a suggestions that they will start denying that they ever said satan was hurled out of heaven in 1914.. in my experience, it is one doctrine many ordinary members are clear about - you ask them what supposedly took place in 1914 and they'll say, "satan was hurled out of heaven, therefore world war i started.".

A teaching that will not be changed.
One of the major linch pins that if gone would end the religion.

Do you think that the hatred of the Catholic Church is Supernatural
by TTWSYF ini thinks so.. not only jws have hate the catholic church.
i see it as a world wide thing.
many hate the catholic church with out even truly looking into it for themselves, but rather form their opinion based on other peoples directions.. what say you?.

Yes its so obvious that the 1.2 billion Catholics (the largest christian religion by oodles, the 1 in 7 people in the world) the religion that is practiced by all of central and south america) is hated by probably the Supernatural force of Pennywise the killer alien clown. Duh

Governing Body - Time in Ministry
by Peeringin inis there any transparency in how many hours on the ministry the governing body members do on the ministry?
by this i mean the physical act of going door to door in their area.
i guess it is plausible that they would count overseas trips and working on publications as part of their ministry, but this is not what they encourage from the jw on the street.. is it possible for a gb member to be reproved or otherwise for not going out in service?

Singing Kingdom songs, doesn't sound like being rebels.
Guarantee you this will be held up as how much love the russians have for Jah, and how much support the germans have for their russian brothers and sisters. Which it probably is.
Not like they all broke out to a chorus of Der Kommissar.

"Keith It is with Great Sadness that I write this Note!"
by The Bethelite ini grew up with steve pare who is now an elder in southern california.
he sent me this note after i talked to him on the phone and sent him my book.. "the super-abundant blessings i have received in the advancing the earthly organization of jehovah have been fantastic !!!".
"jehovah is not behind in creating the paradise & his mighty of 9,000,000 will work with 20-50 billion to be resurrected & in 1,000 years the paradise will be done on time!!

Its all bullshit that for decades I ate up like candy - because it was so much better than having to worry about being responsible myself.

What is the inside info on "Reasoning From the Scriptures?"
by stillin ini understand why the witnesses won't actually "reason" from the scriptures; because they will have to come to grips with the fact that others have their own reasons, scripture-based, for believing differently than the jw's.. the "reasoning" book was supposed to arm the r&f with solid scriptural backing that could withstand most in-depth conversations.
so, why is it gathering dust now?
was there some doctrinal issue specifically?.

Also - "truth" changes SO OFTEN now - they cant keep reprinting them.
