I wonder if GB meetings deliberately set out to make self-contradictory policies. It'd explain a lot.

Do they draw a stipend of any kind? That would probably be taxed.

Even if they subsist entirely on the free room and board (punctuated by an occasional green handshake*) what about fringe benefits tax? Does it exist in the USA/state of New York?

Was anyone removed from Bethel for suggesting the Governing Body were the "Faithful Slave"?

i remember reading somewhere a reference to ones at bethel being removed for suggesting that the governing body was the faithful and discreet slave, years before the org.

made this change.

am i wrong about this?

I only just discovered this and brought it BTTT. I had no idea that they were so vehement in denying that the GB alone was the FDS. Especially in light of the 180° turn. White is black and black is white and the faithful JWs are expected to follow along and get run over on a pedestrian crossing.

I know that the GB say that it's okay to lie, but surely this is pushing the envelope beyond the limits of sanity! Do PIMIs really buy these outright porky pies?

Now I'm waiting for the story of the GB member crossing a crocodile infested river, while being protected by his African brothers. 🙄

The idea that there would be that many JWs working in Hollywood is pretty damned far-fetched in its own right. Luckily, they've got their own Hollywood now. Well, they will if they ever get it built.
