who owns the KH/ asembly halls?
by Curious Mind inhope someone can enlighten me!!!!.
just curious as to who has legal ownership of the kh/ah.
most kh/ah are built with free labour and the loan for the hall comes from the society, which the cong then repays - hence the question.

WHAT SHUD HAPPEN TO THE PILOTS..........
by Mary inwhat do you think should happen to the two american pilots who fired on and killed the 4 canadians over in afganistan last year in the friendly fire incident?
this is a hard one.
as a canadian, i fully support the usa and obviously this disaster was not intentional and i'm sure the pilots must feel awful about it.

Well, you can't say there isn't a double standard. Some guy in Canada calls Bush a moron and our government gets all pissed off...yet a couple fo canadian soldiers get killed by us, and nobody here gives a shit....

The never ending saga.the anointed
by MacHislopp inafter reading from "the watchtower" february 15, 2003
"by the 1930's , then, it was becoming clear that, in general,
the heavenly class had been chosen.

Then he went on to ask whether there still was a call for gathering in more of the remnant. No, no more additions! he said. That call ended way back there in 1931-35!
There should be a pre-requesite for anyone who claims to be one of the annointed: use proper english! "Back in them there days of yore God came-a-down from heaven itself and said mah-oh-mah, you're gonna be 'nointed. Me? I says. Sho'-nuf says God. An' donna forget do lord it ovah dem Jay-dubs, and pie-o-neer bg time! You gotta make shure dem dubs think yous be gonna heaven!"

I was baptized October 1995 and left about 4 1/2 years later...I always find it difficult to place an exact time on when I really left because spiritually I was far gone before I stopped attending the meet'ns....Anyway, it was too damn long!

Bush pardoned 7 people today (the first seven of his presidency). They were for the most part unknown for their crimes: making unlicensed whiskey, altering an odometer, stealing copper wire...you know..unimportant crap. Anyway, one of the pardons surprised me:
_Douglas Harley Rogers of Brookfield, Wis. A Jehovah's Witnesses minister sentenced to two years in jail in 1957 for failing to report for military induction.
A nice gesture I must say. Did anyone know Douglas?

London Calling...
by Preston ini know this is a topic that will get very little attention on the board but when i heard that joe strummer died yesterday i said to myself......well, i guess i couldn't really tell you because the profanity would have surpased a david mamet film.
for me, i only had one band that i truly liked, and that band was the clash.
for my money they were the best band to ever walk the earth.

I know this is a topic that will get very little attention on the board but when I heard that Joe Strummer died yesterday I said to myself......well, I guess I couldn't really tell you because the profanity would have surpased a David Mamet film. For me, I only had one band that I truly liked, and that band was The Clash. For my money they were the best band to ever walk the earth. I can name you every single album, almost every single song, and quote you lyric by lyric off of London Calling. There isn't a band today who could reach the depth of Washington Bullets, The Card Cheat, Straight to Hell, White Man in Hammersmith Palais, Revolution Rock, Hitsville U.K., Guns of Brixton, Janie Jones or Rudy Can't Fail. Those 10 songs represent, for me, the best that music has to offer. And no other band has approached that emotion or artistic excellence in creating songs about American imperialism, revolutions in latin america, class systems, or class struggles...or...really for that matter all the important events of the last century. The Clash were the best...period. I know some of you would agree with me...

Where is God?
by donkey inwhy does god allow this stuff?
according to your teachings, believers, just so he can stroke himself and show how man has failed.
in fact believers will read this stuff and shrug it off because in the future god will fix it it and it just proves why we need god..
