most kh/ah are built with free labour and the loan for the hall comes from the society, which the cong then repays - hence the question.

this is a hard one.
as a canadian, i fully support the usa and obviously this disaster was not intentional and i'm sure the pilots must feel awful about it.

i was baptized december, 1989 and left six years later.. if only i didn't get baptized in the first place, then i could tell my family how wonderful the holidays were!

I was baptized October 1995 and left about 4 1/2 years later...I always find it difficult to place an exact time on when I really left because spiritually I was far gone before I stopped attending the meet'ns....Anyway, it was too damn long!

Bush pardoned 7 people today (the first seven of his presidency). They were for the most part unknown for their crimes: making unlicensed whiskey, altering an odometer, stealing copper wire...you know..unimportant crap. Anyway, one of the pardons surprised me:
_Douglas Harley Rogers of Brookfield, Wis. A Jehovah's Witnesses minister sentenced to two years in jail in 1957 for failing to report for military induction.
A nice gesture I must say. Did anyone know Douglas?

for me, i only had one band that i truly liked, and that band was the clash.
for my money they were the best band to ever walk the earth.

For me, I only had one band that I truly liked, and that band was The Clash. For my money they were the best band to ever walk the earth. I can name you every single album, almost every single song, and quote you lyric by lyric off of London Calling. There isn't a band today who could reach the depth of Washington Bullets, The Card Cheat, Straight to Hell, White Man in Hammersmith Palais, Revolution Rock, Hitsville U.K., Guns of Brixton, Janie Jones or Rudy Can't Fail. Those 10 songs represent, for me, the best that music has to offer. And no other band has approached that emotion or artistic excellence in creating songs about American imperialism, revolutions in latin america, class systems, or class struggles...or...really for that matter all the important events of the last century. The Clash were the best...period. I know some of you would agree with me...
