hey all,.

left the org approx.

one month ago, so i'm freshly out and still working my way through the depression of losing my three best friends... but anyway, not important, what i was wondering was if any of you got this line from the elders the night you went to meet with them... so here's my story, take it or leave it.. i'm a homosexual, i've known since i was young, not raised in "the truth" but converted when i was seventeen, four years ago... anyway, i suppressed it, etc, until i decided that i wanted to leave the org.

Hi Naru,

I also left when I was 21 (after I came out), because I felt comfortable being with a religion that villanized gay people, which is exactly what you went through. I was going to college at the time, and decided to take a legalistic approach. I did tell the body of elders that I was gay but when they asked me all the all-too-personal questions they asked me I told them to bugger off. They didn't know me, they wouldn't go up to a complete stranger on the street and ask them the questions they ask you. I took it for the bizzare play that it was and left without giving two whits what they thought about me.

Over dinner yesterday in a restaraunt my boyfriend proposed to me. It was an unexpected moment for me on valentine's day. Didn't know what to expect. We've been going steady for over a year now, we hugged, kissed, and held hands which is something a lot of gay people will not do in public here in Arizona, but we did. Then he read some poetry, got down on one knee, gave me a ring, and asked for my hand in marriage. It was a fitting end to an eventful day yesterday.....

I'd told him I'd have to think about it. LOL. As terrible as it sounds, I just don't know what to think. He's the first person I've ever seriously dated, and he's ten years older than me, but he's very sweet to me, and I think the world of him.

my husband and i are inactive witnesses very very recently.

we separated as we are both very unhappy with our lives.. my husband was raised a jw and has gotten flack his whole life by elders.

When I was growing up I was a pencil thin, out of shape kid so I got into an athletic program. I utilized a personal trainer, and did bodybuilding in school for a hobby. And you know what, best decision i ever made. It boosted my confidence like nothing I've ever done, and it's helped me a lot in the long wrong. Scooby, you cannot comprehend the number of women out there, and men ;) who would die to be dating a guy with a physique like your husband's. He has a gift that very few men will ever possess, so I say, more power to him.

As for your spiritual journey, this is what I have to say: they cannot hurt you unless you let them. In context, the JW elders are weak people, they cannot even make their own decisions without someone standing in over their head. So, you guys have the advantage, that's all I can say, sounds like you got the brains (and the brawn) to overcome the opinions of a bunch of physical and spiritual weaklings. And if you guys don't want to deal with leaving "the truth", then go somewhere else, nobody's stopping you, and if you don't want to play into their games, then don't becuase they can't do a thing about it except read your name in front of a congregation (big whoop) or maybe write your name in one of their "official files", something which is so third-grade they don't even realize the hilarity behind it. And if your family and friends disown you, well, it's their loss.

In the long run, you guys will be okay, for any erstwhile JW, well...let's just say their options are limited.

i have seen my fair share of adult movies and i must say, people will do a lot on camera for money.

i have seen woman degrade themselves to levels that i can not believe.

Well, from experience (it's true) I did model for an adult web site (hit me up and I'll direct you to my profile). I did not have sex on a web cam, but if anything, I was not ashamed of myself when I did it. The overwhelming majority of my clients were very since and nice to me, and I had no problem showing off my physique in front of a camera. To be fair though, it is a lot of hard work, particularly for a guy. It took a lot out of me (yeah yeah...I know) but now my boyfriend can say that he's dating an adult model. I would think a lot of the former X-JW women here would be proud to admit the same...

we are told we can quit (dissassociate) or get kicked out ( dissfellowshipped), but are these the only options we have?

while you cannot stop people from acting a certain way around you there may be a way to take to power away from the society and give it back to the people who love you and know it their hearts that shunning in unloving.

If you want to leave without giving the WT their say, then don't let them. JW's aren't tough, they're weak. They can't even make their own decisions half the time. Want to know how I left? I got up and left. it was a cakewalk. If you don't want to answer any of their questions, don't. If you don't want to confess anything, don't. The dubs won't understand, so don't even bother. Keep 'em guessing. Screw with them a little. Just get up and go. What are they going to do about it? Write your name in their "official" file? mention your name (Oh my God...your name) in front of a whole group of JW's? Ohhhhhhhh....I'm shaking in my boots now! And let's say your family and friends disown you? Well, it's their loss. As terrible as it sounds. You...are outside the prison, they aren't. They'll only see how happy you are and grow more bitter about their own miserable pathetic lives while you're getting laid by firefighters, licking chocolate syrup off your lovers thighs, having fun on weekends (jay-sus!, having honest to god fawking fun on weekends), and making more money than any of those patheitc miserbale dubs will see in their own prospective lifetimes. Come...on, treat it like the comedy it is and you won't get hurt.

Some of you are way to FAB-ulous to lose hairs over this issue.

It's a place for dreamers. For people who think that you can survive without education, that you can be a full time minister without pay, that you can let people who you never met in your life have the final word on every single aspect of your existence.

Skeptics need not apply.

It's a place for actors, people who can put on the appearance that everything's okie-dokie, because that's what makes them feel accepted. Once you step out of the fantasy people don't want anything to do with you anymore. It's like your the guy who spoiled the party by adding a hint of irony to it. In your case, the irony was you were a devout JW who just happened to be attracted to men. You don't need to look to hard to realize that you inadvertintly just put a monkey wrench in their belief system. They judge people who contradict their little fantasy by removing the player.

This is the real world, I know you miss the comfort JW's provided, but it was all a falsity. Please Joel, don't go back...

i watch the news and all commentators act as if our winning is a given.

yes, we are the biggest, baddest nation; we have the nukes, but what if?

We can't use the Gulf War as an example here because Iraq has changed siginificantly with referece to their WMD. If Colin Powell is right, and that a small vial of anthrax could wipe out the entire UN council, then the war will last longer than expected. Almost all of you guys are forgetting that Saddam could release his biological weapons on our troops. "How", do you say? Very easily: He shoots a missile filled with anthrax or boutlism at our ground or air forces, we terminate before it reaches us, but at that point it's already released a deadly virus able to wipe out our troops, or his own people depending on our location. About 10 years ago there lived a group of people in Iraq called the Marsh Arabs. They lived somewhat peacefully in their own area, and their history was traced to the sumerians for over 6,000 years. Over a 6 month period of time in 1996, Saddam dropped napalm and all sorts of biological weapons on their land. A 1/3 of the marsh arabs went into exile, the rest were sent up to death camps to the north. Now their legacy in Iraq amounts to a bunch of skulls lying in some death camp in Northen Iraq, and as for the marsh lands, they don't exist anymore, because the area has been transformed to a desert in a U.N. report describing Saddam's venture as one of the worst environmental disaters in ages.

You don't need a UNSCOM to prove that Saddam has killed about 1 million of his own people. SO in reference to your question, I think we will win, but don't think we're going to be there for a short time. As long as Bush keeps junior safe and doesn't screw up the economy too badily, he will be our president for the next 6 years. But if we start bringing home body bags then expect this thing to go over like a lead balloon.

I'm all for people identifying as bisexual if that sexual identity works for them. The problem with the bisexual identity, is that it doesn't work very well for very many people.

I'll take this slow: Sexual orientation may not be a choice, but sexual identity is. The more closely a person's professed sexual identity reflects his behavior, and the more closely his behavior reflects his desires, the less deleted-up and conflicted he's likely to be. So if a guy is attracted to men and women equally, and he sleeps with both men and women, and he falls in love with men and women, he should identify as bisexual, since the bisexual label most accurately describes who he is and what his partners can expect from him.

If a guy's sexual and emotional desires are overwhelmingly hetero, on the other hand, but he likes to suck cock once in a great while, then identifying as bisexual is rather misleading. A guy who's exclusively into women emotionally and 95 percent into women sexually probably shouldn't tell anyone he's bi. Better he should round himself up to 100 percent hetero in casual conversations and tell people he's straight--not because it's convenient or safer in the closet, or I doesn't think bisexuals exist. (Believe me, they do) but, he should tell people he's straight because "straight" most accurately describes who he is. See how that works?
