Copy of Crisis of Conscience for Sale
by Village Idiot ini’ve run into hard financial times and have decided to sell my second copy of coc for a fair price.
you’ll find them on amazon for ridiculous prices starting from $59.84 for a beat up used one to $294.96 and up for a new condition copy.
i’m selling mine in new condition for $50.00 plus shipping which should not be more than $5.

Question for Christians: What Religion are You Now?
by LaurenM ini know many on here are atheist.
but for the christians on here...what religion are you now that you are no longer a jw?
i'm still undecided as to whether i believe in god.

JW's do such a good job discrediting every other religion, so many people who leave do not believe in anything after they leave this cult.
I believe the reason there is religion is because we as humans want to belong to some type of group, after I left the JW's I researched christianity, buddhism, hinduism and islam. I think because I grew up christian I am comfortable with it, but only if it is liberal and makes you feel good.
After being out for over 25years I have now decided god has given us our conscience to live by, if it feels good it is right, if you question and have doubts then it is wrong. You know what is right in your heart, thats what I follow now.

Faith, where now?
by Theburstbubble inso for the first time ever i went to a church service at my local church (coe) and i have to say it was awful!
it was just like a ritual.
the vicar would say something and then the congregation would all say a phrase in unison back to him.

After I left the cult I was too scared to go to any churches for a very long time. I believe you can pray to god wherever you are, you do not need a building.
But if you want to meet with other christians the type of church I would suggest is one that is more evangelical, I started looking for one a couple of years ago and decided that if I was going to a church and they were going to be preachy and try and make me feel guilty and would be out the door immediately.
I live in Melbourne Australia and found the Hillsong Church, I enjoy going there because I love the singing, I don't really like the preaching bit, I got enough of that while I was going up in the cult.
I believe it is good to do mediation and yoga as well, as this aligns us with our spirit and gets us back to our true nature and self.

Leela I am so sorry that you have had to go through so much pain. Sometimes you have to do what feels right for you. If you want to see you dad then you do it for you not for him. It may bring up same bad memories but it also may give you closure, at least you have seen him and say your peace before some thing happens to him. You have shown you are very strong because despite them shunning you at 16 years old you stayed strong with your decision and made a good life for you and your family. Do what you need to do that makes you feel better. Take care. -

There is also a scripture that says to keep remembrance until his return, I asked my dad: Didn't Jesus return in 1914? He gave me a dirty look. -

Former Brother
What alternative are you looking for.
We have all asked the same questions when we left the Borg, but we have all come up with different answers. It is not up to anyone else here to tell you what you should believe or if you should join another religion.
I know when we were in the borg we had a manufactured "one size fits all" answer for everything, but we were living a fairytale that was a lie.
I left the borg 25 years ago and am still asking, I have changed what I believe in over time, life is a journey to be lived.
What I know for sure, we can debate different subjects, and go round and round in circles, but in the end, we can only do what feels right in our own heart, minds. God and given us our own conscience to guide us and we should follow this as it is always right. Live life to the fullest and enjoy each and every single day. We can find happiness in the smallest of things, this can include just smiling at someone passing by and just being thankful.
We have no control of what happens when we die so we have to leave this in God's hand.

Adjusted Knowledge
How have I dismissed someone with credentials?
I do not understand how an organisation can distribute the profits from this investments in the same year as the Tax return is lodge, but then says it has no control. Then say it can't do anything about where this money is invested.
