Using the name Jehovah when praying

i know of number of jws who believe that if anyone doesn't address god as jehovah when praying that the prayer really goes to satan... especially if you pray to someone else (jesus, for example).. i haven't been able to find that specific teaching in wt literature.

they do say that we are to pray only to jehovah, but i haven't been able to locate a publication that says the prayer really goes to satan if you don't.. is there such a reference?.

Adam and eve are not names they are not people, adam = man, eve = mother or mother godess. Strange names for individuals.

Question regarding Lucifer

if one of the meanings of the name lucifer, is morning star, can someone please explain to me the last line in revelation 22:16?.

Lucifer means morning star, which as you might not know appears before and after the sun comes forth in all its glory. In case you didnt know jesus is the Sun. basically the scripture is saying something like dont be fooled by the fake or false sun wait for the real one to appear in all its glory.

there are many scriptures that back this up. The bible is simply astrotheology, where nature is worshipped and given silly stories. All cultures in the ancient world did it.

If you read any of the supernatural lines about jesus and replace jesus with sun the sentence reads perfectly. The sun walks on water, it is the light of thew orld, it comes in the clouds, its in heaven, it dies and is resurrected every spring (sorry easter sorry passover ). You can easily see this in the bible with its constant use of 7 and 12, whcih are of course references to the heavenly bodies (planets, sun and moon) and 12 for the months. the temple in jeruslame is a copy of other solar temples. It points east just like all other ones. etc

in my old congregation, everyone seems clean.

mostly chaste courtship, kingdom hall wedding, blah blah.. well there are lots of cases of fondling but they were soon forgotton.

when my husband and i confessed to sex before marriage, the elders were disgusted.

researching polytheism of the Jews

i was researching the history of the jews and in wikipedia it is said that in origin the jews were polytheists by default and became monotheist in a later period of time.

i was not aware of this (neither do many others) and am therefore putting some of my findings here:.

I think the monotheist claim is a big lie. The priests want only one god so they get the monopoly on the sacrifice sorry free stuff for them business. We can see the locals didnt quite think the same way as they willingly visit any priest or temple that they please.

Is (a possible) revised NWT prompted by lapsing copyright?

in the united states i gather that copyright lasts for the lifetime of the author plus 70 years.

if copyright only lasts for 70 years from publication of anonymous works, then copyright for the nwt of the christian greek scriptures would be due to run out in a few years.

watchtower leaders probably don't like the idea of others being able to publish hard copies or circulate the nwt in ebook format.

Jesus is not AN alternative to religion.

one might argue that he is the alternative.. yet he is also much more.. he is also religion's nemesis (enemy) and antithesis (opposite).. this is why the builders of babylon (religion) stumble at the real jesus, and instead teach another - one who supposedly appoints human mediators a.k.a.

the ruling religious clergy class and hierarchy (eg gb/fds/sanhedrin).. (1 peter 2:4-8; 2 corinthians 11:4; 1 timothy 2:5; john 14:6) .

The problem is you are misinformed. Jesus was quoting lev 19:18and when you check the remainder of his sayings and actions its evident he was simply following the vile Mosaic law. He always said the Mosiac law was here to last (Mat 5 or is it 6:18) and never once says he has a new set of laws for us to follow.

You shall not take vengeance or bear a grudge against your kinsfolk. Love your neighbor as yourself: I am the LORD. —Leviticus 19:18 [10] , the "Great Commandment"

I also believe in the teachings of Buddha about being good to others. Of course you'll tear all I just said down, but no one will ever tell me what to believe and how to believe it ever again, be it the watchtower, Muslim, the Baptists up the road or someone on the internet with strong opinions.

Im pretty sure your parents or my parents or relatives are better people than jesus. i have met some real aresholes but its hard to find any who support some of the terrible things that jesus downright endorses, like slavery. If anyone today endorsed slavery you wouldnt call them good, so dont pretend jesus is good.

if the watchtower society was the leadership of a state or country, and jehovah's witnesses were the citizens of said state or country.

They'd call it a Theocracy, but it would be more like Sharia law. People WOULD get stoned for adultery and apostasy, Women WOULD be placed in the background, and hands WOULD be cut off for stealing. I can also see them going for honor killings....

Theres no difference between Sharia law and the bible. They are one and the same. Just look at history, the church has always ruled with an unjust and evil hand.

Why do the JW's Cover up child abuse?

Because the Bible by way of the actions of its prophets is fine with it. elijah basically lays upon the boy he resurrects. given jesus copies this same action, they cant say a negative thing about jesus who in turn copies the actions that look like those of a pedophile. if anybody repeated elijahs actions today less the miracle, they would be in trouble with the police and rightly so.
