The sad truth is that in this time and space that we share, in this reality, we have no way of knowing the origin of our lives or our purpose, if any, for existing. It is easy to look at a species and come up with a logical explanation based on scientific data and say "that makes sense" or "I find that logical". But looking from the inside out, from the standpoint of our own personal existence as an intelligent entity, it is obvious to us that there is more meaning that eludes us, and as far as we know, may do so infinitely. The entire universe makes sense except for one thing, we ourselves. What am I and how did I end up in this physical body or on this plane of existence? From the outside looking in, life makes perfect sense. But from the inside looking out we realize that we know nothing.
From our environment and based upon our perceptions, our mind tries to fill in the gaps just as it fills in the space between the frames of a moving picture. But as the rules of the mind change, and as our increasing awareness destroys our perceived reality, we realize that we cannot process the idea of our existence in the same way we are used to, and we become confused.
Groups of humans build their own reality models. For it to really work for them, the established ideals and systems of belief need to be strictly adhered to, so as not to destroy the illusion. Therefore, no new or different ideas, no matter how logical, can be accepted. Those who reject the model must be expelled from it. This is a way they shield themselves from the fearful unknown and the pain of truth. But it is still only an illusion, and the model they have created prevents each and every participant from learning and growing as a person. Some would die if their bubble were to pop.

Disfellowshipping Doesn't Sever Family Ties?
by tergiversator in"disfellowshipping does not sever family ties.".
or so claims the watchtower's official faq.
so, i would like to take an informal poll: how has being disfellowshippid/ disassociated/ inactive/ just having doubts affected relations with your family?

My "father" is an elder. He must set an example for the rest of the congregation on how to treat naughty disfellowshipped relatives. My sister and I are both on the d-f list, and we are not allowed to visit them anyomore. We can talk on the phone, but no visits. Recently, Mom and Dad cancelled out on a family reunion because they found out my sister and I are going. Dad tried to lie about the situation to the relatives, hoping that he could guilt-trip my sister and I into cancelling ourselves so they could save face. A few years ago I may have even considered playing into that. They even asked me to disappear from my house for a day so that they could come and visit my wife and daughter without having to see me. I have decided not to let them treat me like that.
Although they give lip service saying that they are still our parents and still love us, I consider them not to really be my parents anymore. A real father or mother would not resent their children's life choices so much as to not even allow a visit.

More on Prince
by Mulan ini talked to my jw friend today.
she and her husband were studied with by larry graham, in california, about 10 years ago, or more.
i asked if she knew anything about prince being a jw, and she said that their son went to visit the grahams in minnesota a year ago, and met prince at their home, and that he had been studying then, for about a year.

Like Prince, Dr. David Whitehouse is also a WANKER. Remember: only the dim-witts are unable to see the truth regarding aliens and the Freemason connection. Didn't you see "Eyes Wide Shut"? Duh.

Prince doesn't need to be a JW to be a WANKER, because he already is one.

Most thinking persons know that the Freemasons, (a universal organization run by aliens) have control over much of humanity, including the Governing Body of Jehovah's Witnesses. Of course, the Society creates a smokescreen and denies this fact. They are only doing what they are told by these spiritual hosts of wickedness, who are able to hide the truth of their existence from certain less intelligent humans. (Ephesians 6:12)

Field Service is Officially Over Forever!
by professor ini hereby urge every single one of jehovah's witnesses nationwide to stop going out in field service!
according to the january 1, 1989 watchtower, our obligation to field service officially ended last year!:.
the apostle paul was spearheading the christian missionary activity.

Java: you are correct. This prophecy was covered over in future reprints of this article. Note the explanation from AlanF on the H20 site:
The apostle Paul was spearheading the Christian missionary activity. He was also laying a foundation for a work that would be completed in our 20th century. The Watchtower, January 1, 1989, p. 12
Which words are not clear? The preaching work would be completed in our 20th century. No interpretation is necessary.
This material was written by one Gene Smalley of the Writing Staff. Smalley also happens to be the Bethel Librarian. He is known among Bethelites as a real ding-dong and an extremely nasty, unpleasant person. Smalley managed to get appointed in the early 1990s as a "Given One" largely because of his dishonest, bootlicking ways and his willingness to intellectually prostitute himself to various Governing Body members. Smalley was called on the carpet for writing this faux pas in The Watchtower. It got past the Governing Body because the sharper GB reviewers happened to be out of town during the regular review process, and the only one left was virtually senile. Given that the GB in principle ok'd the material, there wasn't much the GB could later say to Smalley.
You don't believe this stuff? Call Bethel yourself and verify it. Then report back here what you found.
After the dust settled, the Society changed the phrase "in our 20th century" to "in our day" in the bound volumes.

are you sitting down?........PRINCE is a JW!!!!!
by lisaBObeesa inhello all, registered just to post this and see what you all had to say about this.
i, for one, am in shock.
it was anounced today on "extra" and they said we would soon see a change in his music because he was "marrying his music to his religion.

You left out the track "Darling Nikki" which celebrates masturbation! A definate JW no-no. Prince would have to disown most of the work he has ever done. He loves $money too much to do that, as he proved in his recent Jay Leno interview in which he said that Mariah Carey got ripped off for signing an eight million dollar record contract.

DF Promotion
by Stephanus inall this stuff about dfing and the repentance shown by those who want to get back in and the contempt shown towards them by the flock thereafter got me thinking: is this always the case?
can a reinstated df ever be promoted?
could they ever reach elder or higher?
-
professor
This is true. Even those who are in "adulterous marriages" (meaning those who married after divorce not on the grounds of fornication) according to the elders manual, are sometimes promoted to higher positions in the congregation. Of course, this is only done in remote hillbilly areas where there are no other options.
