Did you pray because you felt like it or because you were told to?
by JH inwitnesses pray many times a day.
at the field service, at the meetings, before each meal and even more.. i don't know if you're like me, but i didn't pray because i felt like it, but because i was told to.. personally, 1 long honest prayer a week would have been much better than 20 routine prayers.
did you feel that it was natural to pray 3 times a day or more?.

The only thing that keeps me from being an atheist is prayer. As illogical as it may seem, I do feel a presence when I pray. I am convinced that someone is listening.

when you're talking to someone and instead of acknowledging you or whatever you're saying, they just stare.

I have 3 toddlers running around my house, so, it's usually strewn with toys and crumbs. I hate it when relatives find it necessary to barge in, usually, it seems, when the mess has reached it's climax!

1. Asking Elders if they were ready for a pre-batism meeting in a too impatient way (I can't believe I was actually excited about being baptized.)
2. Coming up with my own date for Armageddon and presenting my idea to the circuit overseer (yes I did some dumb things.)
3. Circulating a joke in print making fun of the presiding overseer
4. I did a demonstration on the platform about persecution at school. (I guess instructing other kids to shoot rubberbands at me was inapproriate.)
5. Making my own return visit sheets that were easier to use (the society's way is always best)
6. Making a telephone directory for the congregation (In the great tribulation it would be used to track down the Witnesses.)
7. Speaking with too much authority in my meeting comments (I was supposed to sound more humble)
8. Missing a spot on my face when I shaved
9. Taking No-Doze (some kids go right from that to hard drugs)
Now that I look at all of this, I guess I was kind of a bad Witness.

Is this legal?
by IronGland inif a former jw decided to put on a suit and tie and go door to door trying to place old wt magazines and books they had laying around, and asking for a small donation, but using the proceeds to buy beer, is that illegal in any way?
i figure they at least owe me a beer.edited by - irongland on 4 november 2002 21:28:23.

In our congregation we had a sister who was disfellowshipped but continued to go door-to-door with the Watchtower and Awake! One time we saw her in our territory doing so and the elder in our car group told us the story. He said there was nothing that could be done to stop her. I don't know if she had been asking for donations or not.

I really liked that one. Where is it from?

Some JWs are in a Tizzy
by Kenneson ina pirated cd with kingdom melodies, first said to have been done by george benson and prince and their wives and later by george benson and celine dion and still later by george benson and an anonymous sister, is creating a stir in jehovist circles.
someone became suspicious and called george benson who told him that it was stolen by a brother who had left patterson and was put on a cd and distributed illegally.
someone else called the audiovisual dept.
