JW Youth- Harshest Rules Ever
by metatron inwitness parents wring their hands, cry in their pillows and mumble.
remarks about satan's influence "in these last days.".
they are told that the world is getting worse and worse.. they are told that temptations are no different than they've ever been.. wrong!

Has anything been said that JW women are old-maids at 25. If a JW girl doesn't get married by the time she's 19 her chances go way down if she stays in the organization. She can only hope that some "normal" male will stumble into the Kingdom Hall someday. Unfortunately, unattached males that come into the organzization after the age of 20 are usually crazy.

This is the sort of thing that really gets me angry at JW's. It is clear and indefensible. A lot of JW criticism is mean spirited, mudslinging but this is just a horrible embarassment for all of us who would like to put JW's in a good light.

Mommie Dark:
JW's aren't any different than others. News Stands are loaded with magazines devoted to "celebrity". Too often people in this forum try to reframe 'everything' to a unique JW perspective. Nobody is interested in a headline that reads "Joe Blow Leaves Catholic Church". But if the headline reads "Cardinal Joseph McBlow Excommunicated" is going to get people's attention.

Tina:
You apparently have a list of books to read but you never get around to it.
If you liked Albert Ellis I would suggest you read the book that probably influenced him the most: Science and Sanity by Alfred Korzybski.

Is the Devil really that clever?
by TheHighPriest inpeople usually turn to god in times of distress and tend to forget about god when things are going a bit better, right?
so if the devil really wanted to succeed in turning people away from god all he would have to do is make life more comfortable for all of us.
i mean lets face it if everyone was loaded with money had access to every convenience, if health was not an issue we all had to confront would we look to god for salvation then?

Those who have a Jungian orientation see the Devil as a part of the quaternity. Christians disown the shadow by holding to a trinity. Integrating The shadow or hidden part of our lives is the key to becoming whole.
The Budhist have a kind of quaternity with the Yin-Yang. Good/Evil & Evil in the Good/Good in the Evil.

A Christian:
If Jesus rules over all those who claim to be Christians he's got a bunch of blood thirsty subjects.

People in this forum seem overly critical because all of the defenders left. There are some excellent arguments here that are crying out for a JW rebuttal. Many here have exhausted themselves trying to get a response from the Watchtower. The Watchtower doesn't even address the most important arguments. There's a lot of new stuff on the table that they ought to defend.
Truth is truth, not because of who says it but because it can be defended against "all" arguments.

Biblical Test for a Prophet
by Treborr Jones inthe test for a prophet is found in deuteronomy 18:20-22. .
this scripture teaches that a prophet must be tested by checking his prophecies.
jesus said, "beware of false prophets which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.

JW's spoke out against Disco music before anyone else. Of course they spoke out against Blues, Jazz, Rock, etc.
