Wait 'til Jaracz joins the 24 elders in the sky. What will HE be telling the organization?

Society laying the groundwork for "new light"?
by sir82 inin the january 1 2007 wt, there is the following quote in one of the articles regarding the "first resurrection" (there are a few other posts on that article already):.
it seems that resurrected ones of the 24 elders group may be involved in communicating of divine truths today.. this may be the most significant sentence in the article (haven't read it in its entirety yet).
i don't recall seeing anything like it in print before.. seems to be laying the groundwork for a "flash of new light", to be exposed probably whenever the last of the 3 old-timers hanging on (barr, barber, jaracz) drop off:.

One of the worst things I've ever heard *WARNING: DISTURBING*
by under_believer inhttp://www.onnnews.com/?sec=&story=sites/onn/content/pool/200611/595320162.html.
i realize that human stupidity and evil has always existed, and that it's today's technology (enabling the news media) that brings it out into the open.
but damn if that isn't the worst thing i've ever heard.

OK She was obviously nuts.
But what are we?
Two days funding for the worlds military is all it would take to save 15 million children from starving to death every year.

A reminder on Shunning family members again in the January 15th Watchtower!
by Gill injanuary 15th watchtower 2007 'remaining steadfast when a child rebels'.
'when discipline is severe'.
'if your child is unrepentant and is a baptized christian, he may receive the strongest form of discipline - being disfellowhipped from the congregation.

I have no problem with people choosing to avoid contact with "criminal" or "predatory" members of their families. I have some "fanatic" witness family members that I avoid eating with. It should be a persons own choice. I can also see why the elders might agree as a body to have nothing to do with a person they have judged as unrepentant. But their actions should only be advisory - not a commandment that would involve punishment.

Thoughts on The KM Blood insert
by The Lone Ranger inhello people, i live in australia so maybe this is old news to you guys who live in the usa, but in the australian nov km its has an insert regarding blood, maybe you usa guys got it on oct, but it seems to me that they are watering down the blood issue,.
for the first time they are letting the reader ask themselves the question about how their conscience would feel regarding taking blood, this has never being the case before, theyve always said a christian would not do thisa christian would not do that.
im sure you guys have read the insert, any views????

I still can't figure out why you absolutely can't take blood COMPONENTS while taking blood FRACTIONS is OK.
The KM argument is that SINCE the bible doesn't say anything about "blood fractions" THEREFORE it is a conscience matter.
BUT, does the Bible say anything about BLOOD COMPONENTS? The Bible writers didn't know anything about blood components. Blood was simply blood.
My prediction is that this is an intermediate step in the "new light" gimmick/process.
In another year or two they will say you CAN take blood components. Only whole blood will be forbidden because that's the only blood the Bible writers understood.
By then they are hoping that either Armageddon will come or that science will have come up with a good synthetic product.

Sorry, I need to vent for a moment...
by Abandoned innormally, i don't mind where i'm at in my life.
i'm forty, no kids, low-paying job, live in a trailer court, etc (and trust me there's more to the etc, then i've already mentioned), but today i had a hard time.. one of my best friends from high school was a big dope head (no offense to the dope heads out there).
he showed up nearly every day to our first period art class smelling of weed and was generally so whacked out of his mind that he got horrible grades.. he finally graduated - barely - and made it to college.

Be happy you discovered all of this when you have more than half your life left.
You can do amzaing things in a couple years. The groundwork for successful living usually takes a few months of concerted effort. You've probably have done most of the work already. Just need follow through.

Should Uninvited D to D Work of Jehovah's Witnesses be against the Law?
by frankiespeakin ini agree that everyone should have the right to practice thier own religion, as long as it doesn't interfere with another person right to privacy and right to not be harassed in their own home by those who feel they have the better religion.. the door to door work of jws is harassment, when you consider that they call for the most part in the morning, univited to talk about why there religion is the right one and often have very bad things to say about other belief systems, which has the potential of disturbing the peace.

At various times congregations have been asked to show hands on method they learned the "truth":
Relative
Friend
Co-Worker
Casual acquaintance
Door-to-door
Very few learn about JW's through Door-to-door.
If they couldn't go from door to door it would give them more time to use other more effective means of getting converts.

A relative of mine recently went to a shrink about marriage problems. This relative was raised a JW and is married to a JW. The relative mentioned that she is no longer a JW and the shrink asked her if something unusal was going on with the JW religion recently because the shrink has taken three patients in the last month that are having mental issues with their religion.
Is this just a coincidence? What are the chances in a city of a million people with hundreds of shrinks picking up a total of 4 Jw's in one month. Is it possible that 10% of JW's are going to shrinks? And if 10% are smart enough to get professional help - how many are just struggling to deal with problems on their own? 1 out of 5?

Is the Issue Of "Sovereignty" Stupid?
by metatron inlet's say you're satan - and you're challenging god.
this is a little like walking into a huge vegas casino and telling them you can beat them.. however, the problem is that you are challenging the author and sustainer of the physical universe, who maintains the laws.
of physics.

The issue is "good government" vs "bad government".
There is nothing more important.
The Bible frames it in the best way they knew.

The Science of Belief
by LittleToe intime and again the refrain is heard that belief and science are mutually exclusive, that belief somehow corrupts good science, that belief is not empirical.
i'd like to throw another slant on that, if i may.. belief is an inherent part of the human psyche.
the desire to know more about our environment and how it all works is also an inherent part of our psyche.
