Infinity, Eternity and Blobs Definitions:
Eternal, eternity:
usually a reference to time. Having no beginning or end. The subject has always and will always exist. Immeasurable. Infinite, infinity:
usually a reference to size or dimension. Having no starting or finishing point. Immeasurable. Sentient:
Able to think, feel and communicate. All powerful:
Having no limits on ability .

Scenario 1.
You have an infinitely long piece of string and you cut it in two.

Are

the two pieces of string longer, shorter or the same length as the original piece?

How

long are the two "new" pieces of string?Question.
How long is Infinity doubled? How long is Infinity halved?

Scenario 2.
A blob of infinitely large, eternally existing, all powerful, sentient, living matter (imagine lava ), reaches inside itself and pulls out a blob of itself.

How

big is the "new" blob and how long has it existed?

What is the new blob made of?

Could

the two blobs hold a conversation? Scenario 3
.Whilst in the middle of conversing with one another the second blob jumps back into the first blob.

Could

they continue to converse?

Is there

now one blob or two?

Scenario 4.

x =1 blob, x + x + x = 3blobs, 3x = 3 blobs.

Complete the following, where x = 1 infinitely large blob.

When can 3 x 1 = 1 ? Is it when 1 is infinitely large?

Scenario 5.

You are talking to the firstinfinitely large, eternal, living , sentient and all powerful blob.

you asked it what its FIRST thought was, what would be its reply?

Is it possible

for an eternal being to have ALWAYS been thinking?

If

you asked the same being what the FIRST thing it ever DID was, what would be its reply?

Would it be possible

for it to reply "I have ALWAYS been active"?
Question.
Can an eternal being perform an action in Eternity?

Could it say "there has never been a time when I did not do that"?

Scenario 6.
The first blob is called Blob THEFATHER. The second blob is called THE SON of Blob . You ask Blob THE FATHER how the second blob THE SON of Blob came to be. Blob THE FATHER says that he reached inside himself and pulled out the second blob, THE SON of Blob . You ask Blob THE FATHERwhen he did this. Blob THEFATHER replies that he has always done this and there has never been a time when he had not reached inside himself and pulled out THE SON of Blob. It is an action he performed in Eternity.Blob THE FATHER says that blob no.2 is his ONLY BEGOTTON SON of Blob because he didnt create him but he "fathered" or "begot" him from himself .

Scenario 7.
The matter (like lava ) which makes up the blobs is called GOD.

The first blob tells you that the true description of itself is

GOD THEFATHER. The second blob is also of the matter called GOD. The second blob is properly called GODTHE SON . You ask the two blobs who the boss is. "I am" answers THE FATHER . "So you must be in subjection" you say to THE SON . "That is correct" he replies. "But I thought you were both equal" you wonder aloud. "We are" say both THE FATHER and THE SON in unison. "We are both GOD ".

hi everyone.. my name is caspian, i am an elder in a congregation in england.. i have been reading this forum for about 12 months, never having the confidence to log in.. however after all the information that has come to light in the recent weeks, i feel that i need to start coming to terms with the crisis that i now feel.. i am a third gen jw, and been an elder for 15 years, my family whom i love dearly are all naive fully committed jw's.. please if any current or ex elders in a similar situation care to make any good advice.

Remember the food tokens at conventions!!

they were the good old days, in the uk about 10 years ago were able to purchase food tokens to get our lovely hot food supplied at conventions i used to really look forward conventions then,then all of a sudden voila no hot food supplied at assemblys no more i was "gutted" i really missed the currys and sunday veg mmmmmmmmm.

but why did they stop doing it, i think this really upset most having to bring your own grub.they do give free water at them now though

The demise of the food tokens and food at assemblies was yet another case of WT spin.

The reason given was "simplification"

They said that cutting out the food service would enable hundreds more brothers to be with their families and enjoy the "rich spiritual food". This of course was a huge joke, because the only reason most people volunteered was to get OUT of listening to the programme.

The REAL reason that the food was done away with was because, as with the sale of literature, the government informed WT that they would be TAXED on any profit they made on the sale of food.

At the time of this "simplification" my circuit had just finished building a new assembly hall (Hellaby) with purpose built kitchens costing hundreds of thousands of pounds, only to have to dismantle them.

Why dont JW's have a youth group?

something that has been alarming to my jw family is the amount of teens ("young ones") that have bailed out of the organisation, never to return.. they use the excuse, as would most jw's that "satan is getting them - he knows young ones are vulnerable.".

if you want my opinion, young people are getting far more educated - they are becoming far more broad minded than they were say 10 or 20 years ago.

because of the slow yet sturdy slackening of the "no college" rule, many more young jw's are attending university or college than ever before, and with further education comes more knowledge, more interaction with reasonable and intelligent conversations with educated people and most importantly -use of the internet ("satans latest tool, as put by a jw i talked to recently).

I had to laugh at the WT reason for disbanding "Watchtower Youth" in the 1930s. First, I was shocked that it ever existed, but to say "what was happening was an organisation was forming within an organisation, which would have lead to disunity"</P> <P>Since when??</P> <P>There are allsorts of clubs and organisations within Christianity which cater for lots of different interests and age groups without any question of "disunity"</P> <P>Actually it is the fact that they are united in their faith, but diverse in their interests which make these organisations work.</P> <P>One which springs instantly to mind is the "Mothers Union"</P> <P>There are countless youth organisations and others which are quite specific like "The Christian Bikers Association"</P> <P>This is just another example of how out of touch WT is.</P>

Calgary Blood Case Effectively Over - We Won!

Sorry for my ignorance of law, but couldnt the judge make the WT pay his legal expenses, as a way of the judge showing that he knows they were hoping he would run out of cash.

JWs and Stronger Marriages?

a bit of a follow on from the "honesty" thread.. another claim that jws make is that they have stronger marriages and are less likely to divorce.. try writing down all the jw couples that you know of that have divorced.. there are bonus points for those who didnt make 2yrs!.

i think you will be shocked at the number you can come up with.

we came up with 60 couples in less than 20mins.

I wasnt making any statement about the REASONS for JW divorce, just pointing out that it is actually quite common, probably around the national average.

To try and claim that they have a better success rate is just simply untrue.

Did anyone spend 20mins and make a list?
