so i have been told that all kingdom halls are to have a large jw.org sign placed prominently out the front..... can anyone confirm this?.
Thanks, Blondie!
The Watch Tower logo, or a variation of it, should not be used in future Kingdom Hall projects even if the Kingdom Hall is owned by a Watch Tower entity.
Of course, they could easily reverse this directive.
yes, you read correctly..... all appointed men have been told in a new letter that they have to pioneer to "set the lead" whenever there is a "special" campaign month.
they use some scripture saying that these ones have to show by example.... so for any of us who are appointed and have learned ttatt, it is going to be very hard to fade during this time!.
.
I guess we'll see if this is real organizationally or just something local by an overzealous BOE or CO.

I would be surprised since WTBTS went on a campaign a number of years back to rid KHs of the WT logo based on copyright infringement. I supposed KHs that are owned by WTBTS could have them with no issue, but ones that are not could be problematic. You never know these days. This org. is getting weirder and weirder.
i had a rough day of physical work and was tired and cold.
i decided to stay home and rest.
when my wife found out, a very strange look swept over her face for just an instant.
I have yet to get up the courage to just skip meetings and field service. More power to you, DD, that you can.
.
how can i cut down without going teetotal?
i love the taste of wine, i'm not fussed with other drinks but just need to rein in it a bit.. going wine-free tonight and tomorrow, as i'm out socially.. i also need to shift a few pounds.. thank you, everyone..
I've recently cut right down. If I want a drink, I set myself a limit and stick to it. I am in control of the alcohol not the other way around.
@PamsGirl
hello, you read it here first!.
governing body of jehovah's witnesses.
to all congregations.
And, the GB gets some free time during theit meetings, no? because currently I believe they have to spend sometime reviewing the applications.
The GB today has NOTHING to do with appointements. It's all handled via the Service Department.
The reality here is that this is a way to speed up appointments. End of the week of the C.O.: appointment made. No muss, no fuss. Probably the C.O. just logs into his account at JW.org, puts in the name of the brother, prints out a form letter and that's the end of it. Just like appointing regular pioneers, but only this time, it's the C.O. who does it instead of the local elders.
I'm curious about those challenging cases where brothers have a "history" that the branch knows about, but the local elders might not and the C.O. might not.
I also wonder, in accordance with Acts 14:23, if the C.O. will be fasting.
not long ago, there were comments on this topic.
i cannot find it, i don't know what the actual thread was.
i've checked back through the pages and done several searches, but don't know what the key words were, am coming up blank.
a friend from the other end of the country just 'phoned and told me that a couple of days ago two elders knocked on his door.
he has been out for four or more years.. they told him it was c.o's visit, and the governing body have asked them to call on those whom they no longer see at the k.hall.. i guess this is an easier "field" than knocking on doors that never open, or where they are told "not interested".. my friend bill though, was not such an easy call.
apparently he managed to get in about 1914 being rubbish, the bible not being the word of god, because we cannot trust it, 1919 being rubbish as to the choosing of the fds and several other telling points.. i liked particularly that he said to them they were rather hypocritical asking householders to examine their faith, when jw's were simply not allowed to !.
This is a new program for the C.O. visit... call on all the inactive ones in the congregation. This will happen now twice a year.
i was wondering if there was anywhere someone could point to in the bible for the watchtower belief that the great crowd is not included in the new covenant.
i know that this is their line of thinking when it comes to jesus being mediator.
they say that jesus is only mediator of the new covenant and since the gc is not under the new covenant, jesus is not specifically a mediator to them.
The old covenant wasn't for all God's people. It was for Israel. That there were others who were God's people is evident in the "stranger" concept found in the law. The alien residents had to keep the law if they lived in Israel, but they were not parties to the covenant and the law made exceptions for them.
True, for the covenant originally made at Horeb. However, that covenant was amended by God at Moab after 40 years in the wilderness. Read Deuteronomy 29. This amended covenant, albeit years later, absolutely included foreigners.
vs 1: These are the words of the covenant that Jehovah commanded Moses to make with the people of Israel in the land of Mo′ab, in addition to the covenant that he made with them at Ho′reb.
vs 2: "Moses then called together all Israel and said to them" (so Israel was the audience)
vs 10-13: “All of you are stationed today before Jehovah your God, the heads of your tribes, your elders, your officers, every man of Israel, your children, your wives, and your foreign resident who is in the midst of your camp, from the one gathering your wood to the one drawing your water. You are here in order to enter into the covenant of Jehovah your God and his oath, which Jehovah your God is making with you today in order that he may establish you today as his people and that he may be your God, just as he has promised you and just as he swore to your forefathers, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.
vs 14, 15 (remember, the audience is "all Israel"): “Now it is not with you alone that I am making this covenant and this oath, but it is with those standing here with us today before Jehovah our God and with those who are not here with us today
Basically, God made an allowance for these "strangers", "alien residents", "foreigners" in their midst and invited them into the covenant, thus they would become the people of the promise, and could rightly be called God's people.
