I remember at an old assembly hall where we worked and if I remember right, we brought in homemade pies to sell. Did anyone do that or am I dreaming? (W. Wash)
JWdaughter, I remember doing that back in the 60s-70s.
thanks to billy the x for connecting the "invisible lunch".... .
anyone remember when they quit providing lunch?
was it around the same time that the publications went to "complete donation bases"?.

"active jws call in, even bethelites call into the show...".
All I can say is that I know nothing about Rick Fearon but I think he did a good job last night. I was on from 6:30 until midnight when Barbara left. When Barbara went on into another man's show, who wanted to talk about theology (I think), Barbara said she stayed to answer questions. Rick intrerruped the man to say that many people were waiting to talk to Barbara and the man let her answer questions. I think he did a good job. We got to hear a lot of information from the attorney and Barbara. Some, including me, from JWN got to ask questions. That, to me was the pupose of the program and the goal was met.

WOW, Now all the nations will know that the WTS doesn't care about protecting the young children in the organization. They only care about protecting themselves.
education (not necesarily structured classroom and not necessarily college) is really the key to everything.\.
skyrocketing birthrates go down when the women get educated about birth control and disease.
even where such education is freely available, birthrates go down further when the women go to college and wait to have babies.
Panhandle Girl, even though I disagree with the Bible, I am educated better to be familiar with what it says and how it is misused and used.
OTWO, I assumed that as an exjw and former elder (I believe) that you were familar with the scripture. I don't understand how that scripture could be missused, but I admit to not knowning everything. My experience has been that those with a university degree or some other type of knowledge i.e. plumbers, bricklayers, or grant writers, such as BizzyBee,ect. usually can make a decent living. My daughter became a buyer for a large farm and ranch corporation despite not having a degree in marketing because she had expeience in the field. She did go on to get her marketing degree and now only those with a degree in marketing are considered for becoming buyers in that corporation. Although the majoriety of nurses have an ADN, I chose to get my BSN because the American Nurses Association wants all nurses to obtain that degree.I obtained my certification as an Oncology nurse to increase my knowledge and to increase my income. It took me 6 years to go from ADN (associates degree in nursing) to BSN because I worked full time and attended college full time. I only posted what I feel about education from my own experience.
I will add that I recieved my ADN at the age of 54, BSN at the age of 62, and a BSA in Spanish at 65. I am the President elect for the Oncology Nurses Organization, a worldwide organization of Oncology Nurses. I am scheduled to attend the Leadership Conference for oncoming Presidents of ONS. I am now 68. I mention this only to show that I am an adocate for education, no matter how old a person is. I am practically a bornin (age 4 when we became jws) exjw and mourn the fact that I had to wait until I was a senior citizen before I got a degree.
i just checked twitter and the story is picking up tremendously there.. many people only get their news from twitter now.. i encourage you to use twitter, you can do this anonymously.. rt (return the stories) get familiar with twitter if you are not already.. it's a wonderful format for spreading the news.. many activist will see this and spread the story that have many followers.... the time to do this is now, before the story gets too old.
.
purps.
How do you do that, LOZ? Iam not to great at this; only know basics.
we're at least 48 hours into the aftermath of the groundbreaking candace conti verdict, and as i wake up this morning i notice the news wires in america are alive with the story.
almost every major news website is running the article.
i notice there is also talk of a tv interview being broadcast.. however, when i search uk websites for "candace conti" i get this.... .
Incidently, I listened to the six screens interview until Barbara left at midnight. She said she was exhausted. She went into another man's program. He wanted to talk theology, but she said she had stayed late to answer questions.Rick interruped to make sure she could answer question,s as there were so many on the phone lines waiting to speak to her. I got to talk to her and so did others from JWN. She did a great job of answering our questions. The attorney was also great and very controlled. His main conceren was Candace and he was protective of her. Also, Rick Fearon did a good job; he did not interrupt or hog the show. He did good, imo.

Cedars, I believe that Barbara said last night that the Associated Press had picked up the story and that it would go worldwide from there. She said it was still early, only two days. She said she thought it would speed up come Monday. She also stated that Simon, the attorney, and Candace would be interviewd on tv Monday, but she did not know the time; the tv crews were scheduled to come to the office. Don't lose heart. We will get there.
rick simons, candace conti's attorney, will be interviewed on the six screens of the watchtower conference phone line this evening.
there's a good chance that candace will join in, but that's not set in stone.
the host of the program, rick, told me to tell everybody that he is learning how to calm down and to do better on these conference calls.
Barbara is gone now. She was tired.Don't blame her, Iam tired too. Going to bed now.
