i'm not what you would call a dog person.

of course, it's true that, next to the television's remote control, dog is man's best friend.

perhaps my justified ambivalence toward poochicus biteyourbuttabit is due to too many an untoward encounter with the snarling, hydrophobic malevolence of a fido, a rover, a rin tin tin, intent on my evisceration.

Just lost my beloved Poodle "Little Brother' two weeks ago. I am devestated. He loved life and was such a good dog. I have a new poodle puppy coming on the 23rd of this month, not to replace Little Brother, but I need an intelligent dog around.Little Brother practically talked. I need to become the Alpha this time so I will probalbly take the dog to classes at the pet store, more to teach me than the new puppy. I have a chiwinee that thinks he is a Doberman, he weights about 17 pounds but is fearless. The vet wants me to neuter him but I have not been able to do it. You must be a dog lover if you are still dog-sitting. I love dogs and cats. They bring so much to one's life.

Haven't been on the site for some time. Nice to read your posts.

Why were no sea creatures destroyed in the flood?

all the animals on earth were destroyed in the flood of noahs day apart from those in the ark ,apparently no sea creatures were destroyed in the flood , why is that ?.

this is not an issue that only affects jehovahs witnesses , it is one that affects all beleivers that accept the bible as gods word.. obviously sea creatures were not put on the ark , no whales ,no dolphins , no fish , no krill , no plankton etc.

you can fill in the rest .. so my question is , why were land animals / birds singled out for destruction ?, what wrong did they do to deserve this judgement against them .

As some of you may know I just lost my beloved Poodle and am devestated by his death. As bad as I am still grieving, I cannot understand why God would take the life of innocent animals. There is so much I do not understand about life that all I can believe is that it is an unjust and brutal life. I believe in science and also believe there are things we do not understand. I have often asked myself why do we not see any miracles now,why are we kept in the dark. I have read comments here about how the plants could not have surivived all that time underwater, so I am just confused about the whole matter. I don't know why God would spare the shark and kill all the land animals. Could be just a story but what is the lesson to be learned from that story?

Thanks again for your support. It helps so much to know others understand how you feel. I have a new Poodle puppy coming the 23rd of this month. I do not want to be without a dog. They just add so much to my life.Simon, I will be sure to watch Derek, thanks for the web site. I have been listening to "Mister Bojangles,"who after 20 years" still grieved for his dog. It is amazing how much one can love an animal. They give so much of themselves and ask so little of us.

Thanks for your comments. I have been crying for a week and find it had to accept his death. I know in time I will heal but it helps to know others understand the pain of losing a best animal friend.

I just buried my beloved Poddle, Little Brother. He died suddenly. I know to most people that is not an important event. It has devastated me. It upset me for many reasons, one reason being that I believe that when animals die, that's it. They will never live again. As for me, I hope there is an afterlife but I am not sure. I can only hope that when I die, it will not be the total end of my life. If my dog had lived out his life, possibe 15 years, as opposed to just five days shy of eleven, I would not feel as bad. Death, I believe, makes people think about their one death. As an Oncology nurse, I see death and cope with the oncoming death of patients. It is not always sad as death is sometimes a blessing for those who are suffering. I am unsettled about what I believe about an afterlife. Sorry if I am rambling, I am just in mouring over my dog's death. He was a loving and loyal dog.

hi y'all, this is mrs. flipper.

please share your experiences with this, or possible consequences of being outed.. this recent controversy and resulting arguments all stem from people being outed - possibly losing friends and family because most jw's will blindly follow the watchtower's rules to shun them.. among people i know and experiences read here, the grief and loss caused by this is terrible, and maybe now is a good time to put up some experiences here, and put the focus on the worst villians of all - wt policymakers..

The SHUNNING POLICY has had a devastating effect on me. I was df'd in the early 80's, during the "purg," although I had not attended meeting in years. I miss my family terribly, but have learned to accept the losses.The majority of my family, which is large, is JW. In fact, three of my cousins give talks at the District Assemblies. If the POLICY was changed today/tomorrow, I don't think I would want to resume a relationship even with my beloved sisters. I am the youngest of five of my father's daughters; all of them JWs.There is too much water under the bridge, too much time has elapsed and some of my family members have been meaner than the Policy calls for. I guess it makes them feel more righteoust to 'throw us under the bus" and mistreat those of us who have done no more than "take the road less traveled" by JWs, those of us who have chosen to use our minds and make our own decisions. Well, that's the way it goes. I have had to rebuild my life without the majority of my family. Thank God I have four brothers and a few male cousins, and my son,daughter, son-in-law and granddaughter to call family. We are a small family but we have many friends. The ORGANIZATION has not broken us. WE WILL SURVIVE!

If YOUR Child Turned Out To Be A Child Abuser Would You Hate Him?

let me say, from the beginning, that i believe child abuse is disgusting and terrible and abusers should be punished.. we often react to the subject by getting very riled up, sometimes threatening to beat up or even kill an abuser.. i wonder, would you feel the same way if you realized that your child was an abuser?.

I just watched a movie about Jeffery Dahmer, the serial killer that ate some of his victims. His father said, in the movie that he wished Jeffery had never been born. The father visited and supported his son because he loved him. That would be a very hard thing to do. I don't think I would hate him but I would be angry with him and hate what he/she did.
