I am so with you on this topic ISP. Sad thing is, I was like that several years ago. I was not as extreme as some, but I had my extreme areas. The enlightenment that I have received about the WTS still does not completely erase the chains of bondage from my mind. I"m working on it though.

When I look at the universe that I understand I can see that it seems to work automatically according to Gods plan or purpose, you know inanimate matter. I am about as dumb as the dumbest when it comes to science, so please people, don’t debate me.
But it seems to me that the creation that was given free will sometimes decides to do things differently than what was planned by God for them.
I think I understand the statements in the Bible that said that Jehovah felt regret at some of the things that man does. He felt regret at some of their decisions that conflict with his purpose for them. When man make decisions that does not go along with His will for them, things does not turn out right. But when they do things according to His will man fairs better.
Just my opinion.

Responses are right on the money Folks. Fear is the tool used for control and power, people are mentally off for allowing themselves to be controlled in that way, and had I and thousands, maybe millions known about the real laws governing the WTS, they would have made the choice to pass.
The Internet is a powerful tool to inform people of the true history of the WTS, and an outlet for ones who have become trapped, to find out the true face of the WTS so they will not feel helpless under human control, and to vent their frustration and disappointment.

Somewhere in the stream of time JWs come along and teach them the “truth”. They later on become baptized. In time all of the children also become baptized.
For reasons for disfellowshipping under WT law, both the mother and father are disfellowshipped. The children, who dearly love these loving parents are told not associate with them. All of the children are grown and have moved outside of the home. The children teach their children not to associate with the parents and they comply. All of a sudden WT law has replaced the force that motivated the family “love”. Is that POWER or what!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

it appears that the wts will "spin" the facts behind the longo story, so that the "reality" of his past, and the "negative reality" of "disfellowshipping and shunning" never be communicated to the general public.. bearing in mind that he was reared as the son of an elder, and may have once even been a ms himself, pay close attention to the wording used to describe longo's association with jws:.

Thus, “the faithful and discreet slave” has instituted a merciful provision to assist them. Once a year two elders may visit certain disfellowshipped ones. These may no longer show a rebellious attitude or be engaged in gross sin and may need help to take the necessary steps to get reinstated.
Shunning would be appropriate for anyone who rejects the congregation:
never receive him into your homes or say a greeting to him.
Must continue avoiding persons that are disfellowshipped or disassociated.
If the disfellowshipped or disassociated one is a relative living outside the immediate family circle and home, it might be possible to have almost no contact at all with the relative. Even if there were some family matters requiring contact, this certainly would be kept to a minimum.

last night at meeting they told us to just use our blood cards from last year.
in the past they've always told us how important it was to get it signed every year so that people could see our current views as jw's.....doesn't this new arangement negate everything they've ever said in regards to this?

When Jesus was on earth, he kept a low profile at all times. In fact when the mob came to arrest Jesus the night before his death, Judas had to give the soldiers a sign so that they would arrest the right man.
The WTS has become so prominent in the world, bragging all the time about their worldwide work. And what does all of this worldwide work entail? To name a few: Their printing of literature in more languages than any other Bible company, volunteers working free of charge, their quick build Kingdom Halls, their grand Assembly Halls, their Branch Offices, their huge conventions, ect…..all of this done on donation bases only. They are, unlike Jesus, maintaining a very high profile. It takes much money to keep a huge operation like this going, and money is what keeps the worlds eyes on anything.
It seems to me that they are trying now to step out of the lime light. I think that it is too late. It seems that they are on their way to being exposed. All of their business is going to be in the street soon.
