i really liked it (i don't ask a lot in a movie...escapist entertainment's what i'm after).
i thought johnny depp rocked as the rather swishy, funny pirate captain.
orlando bloom is turning into quite the attractive young man...after that last scene, i can see him in musketeer garb.. looking forward to the league of extraordinary gentlemen (love sean connery)...heard it's not great, but like i said, escapist entertainment).
We saw the movie yesterday. We LOVED it! I thought the special effects were great ( like when the dead pirates walked in and out of the moonlight ). But of course the number one reason to see it would be Johnny Depp. Scrumptious! And my husband quite enjoyed watching the beautiful girl ( can't remember her name, too busy focusing on Depp ).
well i've been here for over a year now and it's been great, extremely helpful.
i have made new friends and found a place where i feel i belong, people with like minds.. anyway, 6 months before i started posting here my life was in the crapper or so i thought.
i have maintained an assumption here that i'm single.
you certainly haven't lost my trust. I didn't know either way. I am however, happy to hear that you and your wife are trying to work things out. I wish you both all the best!
ok has anyone heard or watched the new cartoon with pam anderson called "stripperella"?
this cartoon witch pam anderson does the voice over is supposed to be a stripper at night and later that night she fights crime and is some kind of superhero.
lol she gave a small interview about the show and said that the only thing she wanted was to make sure the cartoon didn't show her boobs....what the hell was stan lee thinking?
We have DirectTV, and apparantly my 7 year old son saw the name of the show flipping thru the guide, and he wanted to watch it. Hmmmm, guess I'll have to block TNN now!
i've asked my husband about this many times, and he always manages to skirt the issue.
here is the point i try to get across to him: .
first of all, you have to agree that god is fundamentally fair (he agrees with me on this point.
I had a somewhat similar conversation with my husband recently.I said that he believes that only witnesses will be saved at Armaggedon, and he said that's not true, that Jehovah reads hearts, and there could be others. I brought up the conversation, because I said why is it fair for the people who have already died to have a second chance, yet the people who are alive( or rather soon to be killed ) during Armaggedon don't. He didn't really have a good answer to that one.
Funny though, when he said that witnesses didn't teach that they were the absolute only ones to be saved, I said he must be in a different religion than the one I grew up in, because that's what I was taught.
I share your frustrations, worldlygirl!!
did you suddenly just stop reporting time?
did you do it gradually???
what reaction did you get from the elders when you missed your first month reporting time?
hmmmm...can't quite remember. I think when I stopped going to meetings, I stopped turning in time. The elders may have asked my husband for my time, I'm not sure. They pretty much left me alone, thankfully.
hi everyone - just wanted to introduce myself.
i posted a hi over in personal experiences, but thought i'd elaborate here..... i was raised a jw in delaware, ohio.
you know, i was that girl all the old ones in the cong liked because i was kind to them and pioneered.
Welcome Betsy!!!!!!!! Glad to have you here!
Great to hear you got away from the org and are now living such a happy life! And congrats for the one on the way!
my jw husband came home from his meeting yesterday a little later than usual, and when i asked him where he had been, he said he had to meet with the elders after the meeting.
well, it seems that even though he is reinstated, he has to ask for each of his"privileges" back one at a time.
nothing like prolonging the agony!!
((((((((( worldlygirl )))))))))))
I am so sorry. You must be going crazy! I'm sure I would have reacted the same way. After all, when you got married, he didn't have anything to do with the religion, he was away from it. Then after you are married, he decides to go back. That just seems so unfair, so of course you have every right to be angry. He has changed, and all because of a stupid cult. I wish I had some great advice to give you, but I don't. Every one else here has given great advice, so read thru and see which suits you best. Good luck!!!!
( and by the way, you have mail )
i was watching conan o'brien this evening and they had a lady on who actually gives awards to the dumbest people or their living relatives.
just wondering if anyone here has read it and what they thought about it .
they went over some really idiotic stuff people did that often winds up in someones death .
I was watching Conan last night too.Pretty funny stuff.Like the group of guys who took turns doing shots then stomping on a land mine. Too funny. or the guy who used a bullet for a blown fuse in his car and *ahem* blew off his "sensitive area". These people definately should not be breeding!

I don't have any additional advice to offer, because everyone else said it so well. Just please follow the advice to contact your doctor as soon as possible.I have been where you're at, and I know how hard it can be. And being the strong one all the time is very difficult, I know. I found help through medication ( which I have been off for over two years now )and therapy together. There is light at the end of the tunnel, and I wish you the very best. Please take care and be well.
