we informed her all about the wt-un scandal & other things... she has just cancelled her study.

How ridiculous. That pioneer is just worried about herself... how embarrassing to spend a whole year and have the person back out... her status in her congregation just went from 60 to 0 in under 1 minute.

just a thought about how the wts handles baptisms .... it's strange isn't it that they pay such minute attention to detail for the actual baptism itself - someone scrutinises the whole event and should anyone's big toe sticks out the water then they get dunked again.. why?.
do they think getting completely covered is some magical spiritual thing?.
do they suppose that god wouldn't accept it if someone unnoticed didn't go under completely?.
Maybe those who don't want to be DF'd because of family, but want to leave, could claim they weren't completely submerged so they weren't really baptized?
BTW, when I joined the Episcopal church, I was baptized as an adult, they said my JW baptism "didn't count!" No wonder, because JWs are baptized into the organization, not to Jesus' death.

Just in general, even after being out as long as I am, I still appreciate not having to be a JW 24/7. It wasn't a religion, it was a way of life. Every minute of every day, "Is this OK? Is that OK? Am I allowed to do that?" From everything to saying "bless you" to a sneeze or participating in the office football pool, or whether or not it was OKAY to eat a Christmas cookie or grab a handful of Halloween candy, it was lurking, lurking, lurking every freakin' second of every freakin' day. And night.
