  Mum needs help - Part 2!

  thanks to all that responded to my post yesterday...it helped a lot..... http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/forum/thread.aspx?id=41622&site=3.

  unfortunately my mother seems to have been to a meeting last night and was a complete stranger to me on the telephone last night - she has never been like that to me before - i was shocked - but i didnt "rock the boat" any more - i was calm and was compasionate, but mum was defensive and defending her beleifs and stating that i must of been mis-informed by someone about their religion.

  to me this wasn't my mum - but she was just a puppet saying what she's been "told" to say by someone from kh - im adamant about that (i think i know her very well).. anyway, at least the conversation ended well, where i now have an opportunity to write (yes, you heard it) write my concerns in a letter and send it to her....my first thoughts were great...hopefully she'll be able to meet me halfway and see where im coming from...then it dawned on me..."what if she is being told what to say" - then my letter would be defended by another jw (or maybe herself.....).. this is where (hopefully) you guy's come in...where so i start?...i dont want to be over-informative in the letter - this would look like weird i think....... id like to write all the good stuff about my mum in the letter, be positive about our relationship, what we can build on etc etc, and just put a few thoughts here and there for her to ponder over about the wtbs and other issues like blood...which issues would you as exjw's put in there....remember the issue's that first made you think about the integrity of the whole org?...

  reminds me of giving talks in the ms only the subject matter is a lot more interesting.

  An exJW gets one pregnant

  i'm relatively new here and this site has helped me a lot.

  however, i think i'm going to need more help... i was dfed back in july just after my 18th birthday; i just couldn't take it any more.

  things have been very hard for me to say the least.

  You are going to have to make some very hard decisions here. You might not like it, but it's reality.

  You can either let her go back and grovel for forgiveness and let her family take care of her, but as Naru said, her life will be an utter hell and the baby will be raised a JW and IT'S life will be an utter hell too.

  OR

  You can bite the bullet. You'll need to drop out of college and get a full-time job, marry your GF, and help her get out of the organization. The s*** she's gonna get when they find out she's pregnant should more than help that process. Also get the book "Crisis of Conscience" by Ray Franz, former governing body member and both of you read it. (Avail. from www.freeminds.org.) Also if you marry his daughter, maybe her Dad won't throw you in jail for statutory rape.

  OR

  Go the adoption route. Just don't let your baby be raised a JW.

  In a recent talk at the circuit assembly, JWs marrying non-JWs were told it was the same thing as marrying a corpse out of the morgue and sleeping with a corpse.

  One less bible study for them

  dear friends,.

  my wife & i have some days ago talked to our maid, she had been studying the bible with a pioneer for almost a year & was beeing pressured into baptism.

  we informed her all about the wt-un scandal & other things... she has just cancelled her study.

  Hi, thanks for sharing that... we like GOOD news!

  The pioneer did tell her that she could not cancel it, that she had to get baptized because she had attended the meetings & was "in"

  How ridiculous. That pioneer is just worried about herself... how embarrassing to spend a whole year and have the person back out... her status in her congregation just went from 60 to 0 in under 1 minute.

  I am clawing my way to a Masters in Speech & Interpersonal Communication at New York University. It's hard, working full time and all. I'm too old for this! Not complaining, though. I love school.

  You forgot the section on Taking Notes

  Taking Notes

  Taking notes is an important part of the Convention. To appear spiritually mature (and to keep awake) one should have a notebook and a pen for writing down the really Important Spiritual Points(TM) that you are going to review when you get home (NOT!) Actually re-reading them can count towards your Personal Study Time, so you only have to read next Sundays WT three times instead of four. Bonus points for not getting caught by a pimple-faced "Quite Please!" sign-wielder for drawing pornographic pictures of Sister Hottie instead of Taking Notes.
