Leaving everything to the WTS, doesnt that indicate a lack of faith?, surely if the end is so very very near, the WTS has no need of money?

Anyone Here Lost Their Inheritance To The WT?
by Englishman ini have.. i hadn't even realised it until i had a conversation with my brother last summer.
our dad was a proffesional man who could command a good income whilst he worked.
trouble is, that he would listen to all the 1975 "end of the system" nonesense and then become motivated to serve where the need was great.

Could UFO Disclosure Bring About A Golden Age?
by metatron inthere are a great many people - and internet sites- that preach a sort of 2012/ufo gospel.
while they may contradict one another, they mostly teach that ufo's will intervene and save us, especially if governments admit that they exist.. yeah, ok..... been there, heard that..... but could there be a core of truth to this idea?.
what would happen if the world acknowledged that et's exist?.

Open the skies over me
I am waiting patiently
I'll wait for a sign
As conspiracy unwind
Will you slam shut or free your mind?
Or stay hypnotized
When the Zetas fill the skies
Will our leaders tell us why
Fully loaded satellites
Will conquer nothing but our minds
I'm waiting patiently
And I'll wait for the sign
Carried through the centuries
Secrets locked up
Are loaded on my back
And it weighs me down
When the Zetas fill the skies
It's just our leaders in disguise
Fully loaded satellites
Will conquer nothing but our minds
I'm waiting patiently
And I'll wait for the sign
I'm waiting patiently
And I'll wait for the signNow Iam more inclined to agree with the sentiments of the above fine song by "Muse".
I understand Zetas are suppossedly an Alien peoples, but really they are just our leaders in disguse, "conquer nothing but our minds" means its just propogander.
There are supposed projects such as Project Blue Beam where a staged "Alien invasion" turns the populous into excepting the One World Government, the likes of William Cooper claim to be inside Whislte blowers confirm such.
Revelation 13 mentions about these decievers being able to make "fire come down out of the sky" in order to deceive mankind into accepting this global government.
Do a bit of research into the likes of HARRP to see such technology is now available.
When both the Bible and conspiracy theories seem to be pointing at the same things and at the same time, Iam more inclined to accept such than so called Aliens coming such a long way, only to fly around a bit so people can see them, or to crash!
And anyway, how come our leaders are letting little clues out that "they" will come this year?, how do they know, did "they" tell them, if people keep spotting them, doesnt that mean they are allready here?, seems like Hollywood and the media have been programming us to expect such a thing for quite a few decades now.

"Another example is that the witness girl that only date or marries up( Only dates M.S,Elders,ex-bethelites,or pioneers )."
This is actually a borg "Doctrine, (of Men)".
I read it in one of the magazines that a Sister should only marry a Pioneer or an Elder, its probably the first negative and upsetting thing I realised about the borg, that they operate a caste system.
Another of their doctrines of men they printed in the Watchtower was when they said some Witnesses, even Pioneers, where living a secret double life where they would practise such things as accept blood transfusions or Masturbate.
That was great, putting Masturbation in the same category of sin as accepting blood transfusions, so straight away I realisied what an evil hypocrite I was that if I had a child, I would let it die rather than let it have blood, yet couldnt resist the odd five finger shuffle, it was then I realised I wasnt good enough for this religion and so started to disfellowship myself.

Glastonbury, 1982, I learnt from a White Witch in the "Hunt Saboteurs", that in 1990, the "Angelics and Rainbow warriors" where going to wipe bad men off the Earth and leave it to those that love nature to take care of.
As an anti-social animal Lover, this sounded good to me, so for the next 5 years I was telling everyone I met about this pagan version of Armaggeden.
The first time I ever met a Witness was when they called on me in 1987, you can imagine their shock to have a householder witness a version of an end time prophesy to them.
Started a Bible study that very day, went to meetings the very next Sunday, was in the Field Service in a matter of weeks.
Being shown from the Bible confirmation of my beliefs, and it being God himself rather than Pan, (who I was a bit suspitious of anyway), it was a dream come true for me

Well thats interesting that Rutherford was acknowledging Jewish banking control yet still considered Babylon the Great with its "Kingdom over the Kings of the Earth" to be Rome and "false religion" rather than Jerusalem and the international bankers.
It wasnt just the JWs that held that now unpopular view, Jewish British Primeminister Benjamin Disraeli stated the same notion, British Primeminister David Lloyd George said in 1909 that the most powerfull man in Britain was Lord Rothschild, and he reported that at the Treaty of Versailles that 120 international bankers ruled over the proceedings with the absolute authority of monachs.
British Prime Minister Winston Churchill had very strong and anti-semetic views untill he was bailed out by one over his gambling debts, Henry Ford would give a copy of the Protocols of Zion with every car he sold, it was very prevalant back then, even after Jews had served in the American forces in WW2 and the Jewish suffering had been discovered, those soldiers still returned to rampant anti-semetism back home.
I seem to remember the British as well causing death by refusing entry to Jewish refugees on ships that they prevented docking in Palestine.
This isnt just a JW thing, it was pretty prevalant everywhere back then.

For those of you who inactive, but not officially DFd/DAd, how do you manage?
by undercover ini read with interest the thread about how people who are mentally out yet still attend (some) meetings manage to do continue to do it and it got me wondering, how do those of us who are completely inactive, no longer practicing members of the faith, manage to pull off our new ex-jw life, yet never invite scrutiny or investigation from former friends, elders, etc.. take me, for example.
i've been out several years now, but have never officially renounced my faith.
i've never out and out called it a crock of shit to anyone who could make real trouble for me.

!6 years since meetings, perhaps 8 years since attending memorial, but I have no family and whereas Jesus might leave the flock to search for a lost sheep, the JWs certainly dont follow so closely in his footsteps, hence, Iam lucky that I live well over half a mile from 5 Kingdom halls, so no chance of any of them putting themselves out to go that far to enquire on my Spirituality.

Quick, the elders are coming to the house! Hide that!
by bronzefist inwhat did you have to hide from the elder's sight if they came to your house?.
-
Nambo
More the opposite end of the spectrum, but related to Elders snooping, when newish in the truth, I had bought one of the Kingdom melody cassettes thinking it would be the same as played in the hall so I could sing along at home, I really didnt like it though so only played it the once, however, when an Elder came around, he looked to see the sort of music I was listening too, and was very impressed to see said tape in the cassette player.

What scripture bothered your concious?
by stillhurts ini have been out 3 years.
i was baptized, never df'd.
ignored the 2 or 3 phone calls from the elders, and then they left me alone.
-
Nambo
Even from before I was Baptised, I could never convince myself that the climax of the book of Daniel, the most happyfying event the Angel could reveal was.........the 1922 Cedar point assembly that nobody nowadays even remembers.
Further consideration of the above reveals their whole claim to have been appointed in 1919 rests on the above interpretation of scripture.

Let's talk about the worst articles from the WT for young people (YPA articles and others).
by Chemical Emotions inat the moment i don't have the wt cd program up, but when i can bring it up, i'll post some.. .
also, articles which include a paragraph here or there that are directed towards children or teens count as well.. articles that come to mind for me first are all the articles dealing with (gasp) masturbation.
and one poster here recently posted some parts from a young people ask article about dating, which was very funny.
-
Nambo
I allways felt the YPA book left many questions unanswered, for instance, it never mentioned if self-fellatio was a sin or not.
Regarding the Biblical admonision to "deaden your members as regards fornication" etc, Iam inclined to wonder if this was a Biblical commandment to masturbate?, my personal experience is that its the only way I know to curb the otherwise constant obsession with sex I got whenever I tried not too.

Open About My JW Past/Present
by EmptyInside ini think it's hard to share with new people in life, being raised a witness.
i never know when and if to bring it up.
now, just acquaintances,i don't usually talk about it.. but, with people, especially someone i may consider being in a relationship with,it's difficult to know the right time.
-
Nambo
Whilst I dont have relationships, I do still read the Bible and have conversations with many people about it.
People are quite open and interested to listen, unless I reveal I used to be a Witness, if I do then every thing that subsequently comes out of my mouth would be disregarded as Witness beliefs and so my power of communication would become null and void, so if anybody asks me what religion I was in, I truthfully answer, "well, when I was a kid, I used to be in the Church of England.
I really dont know why the Witnesses bother to witness anymore, the dead horse is sick of being flogged.
