why were some ancient writings not included in the bible as we know it?
for instance the book of enoch goes into detail of his experience of being taken to heaven and later coming back to earth to share his experience with his sons, and then later died a natural death.
i have read this book and it is full of details that no one back then could have described without our modern science and technology we have today.

hi everyone.
yesterday i was on ebay.com and started a book search, i saw watch tower books(a massive collection) from the 1900s selling for around $8,000,i told my husband and he said someone should start there own cult up based on these teachings with the aim of bringing the watchtower down.. imagine it,the watchtower reading about this religion with it's old teachings about christmas, the pyramids, aluminun, where jehovah resides, the cross, the princes return, and so on.. so calling all apostates make it known that this is what is being revived, not literally of course, perhaps letters by the 100s being sent to the watchtower letting them know that this is what is going to happen and see what they do,give them a run for their momey.. just one of my darling husbands ideas he's full of them.. qca1

i've booked a week in corfu, a greek island, commencing july 20. it's our first visit to greece.
we're staying at a little place called paleokastritsa.
the guide books say it's unsuitable for old people (too steep), teenagers (too quiet), or children (too dangerous, high peaks).
Hi Englishman
Well what a coincidence my husband and i will be in Corfu also on the the 22nd July, My Daughter Claire lives there.
She lives in Kato Garuna a small village near Agios Gordios,i think thats how you spell it. When we first went i thought i died and gone to heaven. My Daughter is a singer on the island and i am sure she has worked at the place you are going.
She is married to a lovely Greek man and they a baby now. Claires husband is well known on the island for his Greek dancing which includes spinning a table round with his teeth, the food is excellant, ouzo by the buket full and plenty of entertainment you will love it.
A great place to eat out is at Stevens on the Hill, especially on Monday nights it's Pizza night.
Here's wishing you a great holiday.

i've never passed my test, never needed to because i lived near the city and could get from a to b at the drop of a hat.
now living in a village it almost impossible to get anywhere so i am about to start taking lessons, at 39 i'm embarrassed and am dreading starting lessons.
what a wus huh.
Hi Brummie
I know just how you feel, i was 40 when i started to drive and boy was i scared. I was told it is a lot harder when your older which i quess could be true.
I was learning for about 6yrs,please don't let that put you off, i crashed into my own garage, after many lessons i was still nervous and this particular day my son asked if i could move the car forward so he could play basket ball, i said sure i will, so i got in the car and bingo i took the garage door down and breeze blocks with it. My son was horrified and also scared to actually get in the car when i was driving. It cost a few hundred pound to get it all fixed.
My son refused to get into the car until i had passed my test. I failed the 1st time passed the 2nd and i felt brillant it is true what they say it's a great feeling, but i still don't drive very far,Nottingham is out of the question,Mansfield a maybe. I'm still nervous i quess.
Go for it Brummie you'll be fine.

Hi all
After Centre Parcs was built i had a job there cleaning all the chalets ready for the holiday makers, i live just down the road from Sherwood forest Centre Parcs.
Just thought i would tell you that not that it is important i quess.

i have just had news that my jw daughter-in-law has been told that her baby, she is expecting in july, has a 1 in 400 chance of being downs syndrome, 3yrs ago her brothers wife also had a downs syndrome baby.. in 4 wks she will have another scan that will confirm this.
at this moment in time i can't find the words to express how i feel as my thoughts are towards my son and his family at this time.
i do know that all babies are precious no matter what happens, they also have 2 boys 1 of which is rebellious towards being a jw he says he hates jehovah, so life is difficult for him as my son is extremely strict with him, and now the news that their baby maybe born with downs syndrome must be awful for them.. has anyone here had to deal with something like this, and what, if any are the wts views on this sort of thing.
Again thankyou all for your comments i appreciate them so much, it is going to be hard just waiting for the next scan.
I am sure she said she didn't want the amnio as the risk of misscarriage was there.
Because you have given me some good advice i feel able to deal with this in a more positive way and feel able to help my DIL better than i first thought possible.
My dear friend Robdar, thankyou for the crocuses they look beautiful.
