  Top 10 things cultish to outsiders, but normal to Witnesses!!

  1. whenever we did the kingdom hall cleaning and would wear casual clothes, we weren't allowed to wear any shirt/sweatshirt/top w/ a logo on it!!!

  (and not obvious stuff like "camel cigs" or "budweiser"), but stuff like "reebok" "quiksilver" etc etc etc.

  (omg) (hey, on the way out, you reminded me of this in another post!!).

  i was just looking at terry's thread and as i read the responses the only thing that came to my mind was the ways i know i will not die.

  i know i will not die in a car accident or by drowning.

  i have already faced death (or you could say cheated) in those situations.

  I will not die having handed over my life to the whims of 9, 12, 16 or whatever number they happen to have on the GB at any one time. Those days are over!!!

  a bethel insider in the know told me that all of the child abuse lawsuits where the watchtower bible and tract society was one of the defendants were settled back in the beginning of this year.

  i questioned it and called napa myself and they were absolutely settled back then.

  Have they settled ALL of the cases where they were named as defendants, every single one? I am in shock. How long will they continue to get away without major publicity? I am actully sick to my stomach. I was so hoping that bad press would soon be making the headlines. What a sad day!

  I remember growing up how I always admired all the people I would read about helping this planet and the people on it in practical ways, people involved with Greenpeace, UNICEF, Cousteau Society, especially Jaques himself. I would think how could Jah destroy such wonderful people who are caring for his creation so selflessly, just because they are not JWs? Even when I believed most of what I was taught by the "Society" I never believed the good people on this planet would be obliterated and I never thought I was a "cut above" others, rather I felt many times that these really active volunteers were a "cut above" me.

  JW children - conditionally loved?

  when they reach a certain age they are expected to "sign up" (get baptized).

  in many cases if they choose not to their parents essentially "disfellowship" them.

  so a lot of children get baptized under pressure from the parents and when they fail to live the jw life and get df'd the folks are the harshest shunners.

  Unfortuneatly, most JWs have no clue of what the cocept of "unconditional" love entails. It's so ironic how they pride themselves on the "love" amongst themselves- I don't think there is another group in the world with such a myopic view of love.

  two important court decisions, which came out of napa valley, ca, are now available for us to post on jwd.

  these significant rulings overturn objections regularly made by the watchtower in recent lawsuits and may serve as a precedent for future lawsuits.
