i'm thinking this morning at the enormous effort required to leave the witnesses.
that you all found your way here is amazing.
you are a select group of strong people, who will not allow life or any organization to knock you down.
What a wonderfully put homage!! Thank you for your words of encouragement!
Q
i have been inspired by the what do the jwd posters look like thread....my avatar picture is jude law, he's my dream guy..... so who's your heart throb?.
Sela Ward
ok i got to thinking, the elders cover up and do not report allegations of child molestation and if they know of a known molester amongst them they do not warn the cong, correct me if i am wrong but isn't that a crime?
sexual offenders are supposed to stay away from areas were child ren congregate, such as a playground, school, library etc.... jessica lunsfords neighbor was charged with harbouring a pedo, (he was not registered at her home) isn't that the same thing the elders are doing?.
anyone care to enlighten me?.
That's a good question for Kimberly Norris "Stillconcerned" maybe she can inform us?
Q
this is from saturday afternoon program.
the speaker first starts with what he called the "alphabet soup" of degrees....a.a., b.a., m.a., ph.d., etc.
; he said they were nothing more than "sheepskins on the wall.
There is no way he did not get a reprimand when he went by the Chairman's office after finishing his talk! That is one of the most appalling things I have ever heard from a speaker! Utterly disgusting!
Q
i used to enjoy do paul illingsworth's talks.
he thought he was a greek scholar.. anyone that you liked (or didn't)?.
The best CO ever was W.J. Kalandros, I believe he is in So. Cal area now. He and his wife Rosalyn (Roz) were truly genuine people who knew how to have a good time.
Q
i was just reading a thread about the new 'exciting' format for the watchtower and how there will be a jw only edition.
add to this what i believe is the new rule that da'd and df'd people are not allowed to receive the magazines unless they attend meetings.
this all got me thinking.... .
I so look forward to Blondie's "between the lines" commentary every week! It helps me to sit through one of the five most boring hours of the week with my senses in order!
Thanks Blondie and keep up the GOOD work!
Q
these are just a few: how about this one, brothers the time left is reduced", do not take liberties with the sisters", charley calls", brothers and sister do not mark on the sides of your bibles", do you have secret sins", do not be saving seats", you will not be used if you wear a beard," parents are your children setting with you", are you buying out the oppertune time for your selfs", only use the motels the society wants you to use", and on and on like cults do.
Were you raised in the "truth"?
How did you come into the "truth"?
How many years have you been in the "truth"?
Is your family in the "truth"?
Q
a young man came in for his state vehicle inspection today and i noticed a nwt on the seat.
i asked him if he was a jw and replied yes.
he then asked if i was and replied i used to be but now am a full fledged apostate.
Hambeak- Sounds to me like this would be an excellent experience of "informal witnessing" to share at the next CA, Saturday after lunch during the 15 minute "Experiences" part. Good Job!!!
Q
yesterday we have a study of the watchtower about obedience and submission.
this study arose a lot of questions and heightened emotions in me and the interested retired judge sitting besides me.
we came accross the 9th pharagraph, page 28 of the april 1, 2007, where it says that: "it is easy to obey when everything is clear and we agree, but we will show that we are trully submissive if we yeild even when we do not personally understand the direction provided.
Da Cheech- That elder's comment unfortuneately speaks volumes of how brain washed so many are. VERY sad!!

Sitting through that lesson yesterday was the most uncomfortable experience I have ever had in a meeting! Just imagine what they will be spewing begining with the Jan '08 "members only" issue! One positive note, our conductor had a very hard time finding raised hands in the audience. Something tells me that I was not the only one who felt uncomortable with what was being studied.
